Graycascade Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 it's a free ride, that you just didn't take. Huh, not that I've actually bothered looking up the lyrics, but I thought it was "it's a free ride, when you've already paid." ... << >> Please continue Quote
Xenon Odyssey Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I wish people would actually learn the proper definition of irony and not throw it around like they're Alanis Morisette or something. Quote
Chuckles Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I wish people would just change the definition of irony so this discussion would never happen anymore and we could use talking president heads for more productive purposes, like AIDS. Quote

I didn't have to look this up either. Quote
The Damned Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Guys, you're all missing the point. Who the hell uses their email address as their name? Quote
Aninymouse Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Someone who doesn't plan on sticking around on that account for very long, I'd wager. Quote

I guess having heard that song on the radio till my ears bled that it wasn't ingrained enough. And I lost my joke... Quote
Jam Stunna Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 I always did think it was strange to remove a song after it made it onto the site in the first place. It comes across as trying to retcon the site to put the best possible face on it today. Does Doulifee maintain OCRemoved as some official site function or in his free time? Quote

Except that's not the intention at all. It's taking stuff off the site that shouldn't have passed in the first place. It's not about making OCR look better, it's about fixing our mistakes. Quote

It's not about making OCR look better, it's about fixing our mistakes. But that's not true. Those were the standards of the time. As such, they weren't mistakes. Otherwise you'd be arguing that the first 2-3 years of OCR were a giant gaffe. The early stages of developement aren't a mistake. They show character. That's why you're supposed to present your older, POS works in your portfolio as well. Side note: I'm completely neutral in this arguement as I've heard neither song. Quote
DarkeSword Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 But that's not true. Those were the standards of the time. No they weren't. xD The entire point of the previous lockdowns was to go through the catalog of OC ReMixes and get rid of all the stuff that should never have been posted in the first place, based on the standards at the time they were posted. There was no qualitative revote being done, comparing mixes of old to standards of today. The lockdowns were getting rid of stuff that were violations in the first place that hadn't been caught when they were posted. Quote
