I will need this explained to me. What is ABBA?

ABBA was a Swedish pop music group formed in Stockholm in 1972, consisting of Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Agnetha Fältskog. They became one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of popular music, topping the charts worldwide from 1972 to 1983.

or

ABBA: With stopwatch ON. The home team will attack first, the away team will then respond to the home teams attack. Once completed the winning team will receive ONE (1) point. The teams will then switch sides and the away team will set the stopwatch time first, following by the home teams response. The winner of this will receive one point. If drawn on 1-1, The home team will attack first again once more and the away team will reply to the home's time. The score is to be reported as how many rounds you win. eg/ 2-1, 2-0.

Oh, ok. I think I get it now.

I think Rambo wins this conversation. Honestly that's what I thought at first, as well, when I heard the term. :P

ABBA means that you attack, defend, defend, and attack. This way each team gets to attack first one time.

The reason you play like this is because those maps are played with the Stopwatch running. That is, the first team to attack sets the stopwatch time and the second team loses if that time runs out.

Therefore, each team has the opportunity to set the time in one match.

I knew that but forgot to mention it -- luckily Rambo filled in the gap. The other game series I play attack/defend maps on (Unreal Tournament 99 and 2004) has the stopwatch rules on by default (in Assault mode).

So can we somehow get a list of who can show for this time? Like asking everyone to post in the event again.

Frogg informed me that he can make it on account of changing his hours so he doesn't work on weekends anymore. I can make it, as usual, although I'd rather not if I can help it on account of school.

Um...idk about anyone else.

I expect to be available.

On a related note, I don't suppose anyone knows if we're tied to a specific server as part of the default time, or if we still need to figure that out? The Brazil guys suggested either alternating between ours and theirs for the first two matches followed by a virtual coinflip (Heavy fist fight?) to decide for the third if necessary, or finding some European server we'd have relatively equal pings on.

I will be available for the match on Sunday since it will be 7:30 central time. Does anyone know the IP of the XswatX server so we can test out our pings on it? That way we can decide if it would be better to use a neutral Europe server.
I just posted an announcement on the Team Overclocked Remix Steam Community thing so we can set up some available times. I am lucky enough to have Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings available this week.

To note, yes this team is from Brazil. I attempted to log onto a server one of the team leaders was playing on. I pinged in at 200-300 with several disconnects. The man in question (Ota) top fragged which means that we are at least going up against pub stars.

Final note: Thanks Powerlord for setting up the server.

Thought you'd already done that. Sort of. I'd expect their own server to have a ping in the same ballpark as the pubs they play on, at least.
