Irvin Kershner, the director of The Empire Strikes Back, passed away today at 87 years of age.

TESB is probably my most favorite movie ever, largely thanks to his approach to the material.

RIP, Mr. Kershner.

Star Wars movies would not make my top 10 or even my top 20 films, but Empire is the obvious best of the bunch and I've always given props to Kershner for that.
