I won't play a champion that I don't have the proper runes for. I don't think most of the people are as extreme as me but I'm used to it. Also, Singed is the best ever. Once you get flat armor yellows and CDR blues, you can play as almost anyone -- just swap out reds as needed. zircon Posted August 23, 2011 Share Posted August 23, 2011 Other good yellows: * MP5 per level * HP per level Other good blues: * Magic resist per level * AP per level Flat MR isn't as useful because you're probably not taking huge magic damage early, and most characters don't scale exponentially off AP early either (with some exceptions.) With a set of AP runes and the AP mastery you can end up with 25+ bonus AP. Definitely not bad! But overall, flat CDR or MR/level is what I use most often for blues. You get more by endgame with the per-level runes, but you will probably have some decent items built by then so I feel like the early game advantage is more important. prophetik music Posted August 23, 2011 Share Posted August 23, 2011 here's an idea i hate - that tanks are only good if they get assists. i played a game today with some of the worst pubs i've seen - jarvan was 1-7-0 at 25m. i was amumu, went 3-3-0. we surrendered at 25m because we were getting annihilated. when we got into the late game, i asked the other team to report jarvan and another character for unskilled/feeding, because they were so bad. i was told to "tank more", and "stop qq'ing". their reason? i didn't have any assists. our entire team had four kills. i was three of them. they had over thirty, at 25m. tank more? naw. more like pubs are terrible, no matter what. i hate random games sometimes. A lot of the guides I've read say flat armor is more beneficial than flat MR when it comes to runes. I guess it depends on the champion, to some extent. If you're a melee then yeah, you might be up front eating more spells. If you're ranged, you should not be getting poked constantly... early boots can help mitigate that even further. The Derrit Posted August 24, 2011 Share Posted August 24, 2011 Pubs get worse as you gain higher summoner level. i think i've figured out its because half of the people play either with their shitty friends all the time or do a.i. games and eventually get to high levels but are actually no better than a level 13 player when we all get to level 30 i'm excited to be the tank/support specialist for our team. tried out shen last night and he is SO COOL. don't even care if he doesn't do much damage your job is to keep your team from getting killed and you can directly do it like all the time with ult and taunt and even vorpal blade's healing Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
