Murmeli Walan Posted February 27, 2006 Author Posted February 27, 2006 The WIP Deadline is Wednesday. I have not recieved a single WIP between the start of the month and now.
Rexy Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Mine's coming through, the refrain is building in well enough. I should be able to get a render set by Tuesday. It's like brewing beer; optimise the time you have and it'll taste better
Murmeli Walan Posted March 2, 2006 Author Posted March 2, 2006 I got a WIP update from Rexy. As for the other five...well, I can't make a huge cut like that. I'll make a decision at a later point.
Liontamer Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 I got a WIP update from Rexy.As for the other five...well, I can't make a huge cut like that. I'll make a decision at a later point. Hopefully not sounding snide or smartassed, but if you hadn't personally mailed them already, Alan, I'd start. Get your networking skills going!
Ichitootah Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Holy crap, forgot. I'll get to work on it immediately. Not that my song is really a very central or important part of the project.
Murmeli Walan Posted March 3, 2006 Author Posted March 3, 2006 I got a WIP update from Rexy.As for the other five...well, I can't make a huge cut like that. I'll make a decision at a later point. Hopefully not sounding snide or smartassed, but if you hadn't personally mailed them already, Alan, I'd start. Get your networking skills going! I'm trying, but college life does keep me busy. I'm too determined to let this project fall apart, though. You do have a point, Larry. All I did was mention the deadline in the thread and I sent a PM to everybody at the beginning of February. I'll send more PMs and emails later today or tonight.
Murmeli Walan Posted March 14, 2006 Author Posted March 14, 2006 I'll send more PMs and emails later today or tonight. ...yeah, I never did that. I think the main problem here is that I can't seem to devote any of my time to this project. I don't want it to end, but I don't want to staginate any more. So, I can only reach one conclusion: I need a co-director. Badly. If anyone wants to help get this project off the ground, then please, please send me an email at alrobi2000@hotmail.com. Then we'll talk about this.
Nex Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I'm sorry I'm dumb Walan... I'll see what I can do, I've just been busy.
Murmeli Walan Posted March 18, 2006 Author Posted March 18, 2006 I'd like to claim Team China. Hey, this is some fantastic news. I can't wait to hear what surprises you come up with for this track. Edit: In other news, I've completely rehauled the first page of the thread, so everybody can read up-to-date project info without searching through the last couple pages of the thread. Smiles!
reelmojo Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 So I've been informed that Nex already had dibs on Team China so I'm gonna move over to Team All Stars instead. Which is cool, because I actually like that song better.
Murmeli Walan Posted March 18, 2006 Author Posted March 18, 2006 I'm happy to announce that reelmojo has accepted the position of Around the World's new Co-Director. He'll be the guy that constantly bugs the remixers to get their tracks to me so we can avoid the fiasco of the last WIP deadline. Let's all welcome him to the project!
Rexy Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Alright; glad to see there'd be an extra hand in this. And you better return the sexual favors per WIP as promised Caleb, otherwise we know who we're telling
reelmojo Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Sexual favors? I didn't sign on for this! But anyway, the first thing I'd like to ask for from the remixers is progress reports. You know, how's your remix sounding, what are you having trouble with, all that good stuff. And if anyone needs help with any certain part of their song, remixers don't hesistate to give them a hand! We want to make Around the World as good as it can possibly be! For those remixers who haven't submitted a WIP yet (Nex, The Ace, AkumajoBelmont, and... myself) we'd like to hear anything you've got so far, just so we know you're working on it. You can submit a WIP to either Walan or me now, and if you can't host it anywhere you can Email it to me (that doesn't mean I'm offering free hosting, that just means my Inbox has a lot of room left in it). And if you know any remixer friends who might be looking for something to do, we've still got 4 unclaimed tracks! Team India, Team Japan, Team Shadow and Versus Play are all up for grabs.
Rexy Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Robbie (Akumajo) has been working on his track almost all Summer long. He even provided WIP hostage at VGMix, but ever since that's down right now we can't pick that up ; Still, if I get contact from him again I'll bring that up.
KyleJCrb Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 I think he was referring to Robbie's second track, the Ending/Credits theme.
Rexy Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Ah, thanks Kyle. I wasn't really aware of him doing two tracks at once O_o()
Murmeli Walan Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 Last I heard from Robbie, his USSR track was just about finished, but I still don't know if he did any work on Ending/Credits yet. But that hasn't been in a while...
reelmojo Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Walan sent me all of the WIPs that he's gotten so far yesterday. All of the songs I heard, even in their unfinished states, were awesome. You guys are doing a great job, keep it up!
'The' Ace Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Well...I don't have any recorded WIP yet...but I have been working on the arrangement. I'm planning on the first minute or so of mine to be piano solo. Thats mostly done, I just have to record it. The second part of the mix I have to figure out what instruments I want and the general style.
Murmeli Walan Posted March 24, 2006 Author Posted March 24, 2006 Piano solo, you say? That's very interesting. Are you planning on using a live piano, or are you going to sequence it?
'The' Ace Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Live piano that I'm going to play. I'm hoping it sounds good.
Murmeli Walan Posted March 28, 2006 Author Posted March 28, 2006 Live piano that I'm going to play. I'm hoping it sounds good. That's fantastic. I'm a sucker for a good piano player. Anyways, mojo and I have some interesting news coming up. Stay tuned for that.
Murmeli Walan Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 The winner of People's Remix Competition #65 will be on the Around the World project! Check the first post and General Discussion for details.
