ILLiterate
Me and some friends are going to start a band. Basicially, we want to be something mostly centered around death metal ( while still breaking out into techno and hip hop ), but only want to use things you'd find in a toy store, mostly electronic if possible. Once we get some good sounding stuff we'll record an album and put it up Now, any suggestions on some good sounding kids instruments. We're interested in keyboards, xylophones, crappy banjos, and anything else that at least sounds good, all posts greatly appriciated

Compyfox
I can, right after I'm drunk - or if my PC crashed in the middle of an important mix.

Nase
I'd go to a flea market and look for Casio mini keyboards of all kinds. I have a Casio SA-10, it has a 4 sample rock drum set and some other harsh sounds. Sounds like crap though, and I don't know if Casio has felt the need to increase the sample rate and stuff for their newer toys
CC Ricers
I knew someone was gonna mention the Rapman. Toy instruments can be fun to use as 'secret weapons' for your production. Someone told me he hooked up a Rapman (through audio out) to a Kaoss KP2 pad, and that it sounded sick.
chokst~1.bat
http://www.synthmania.com/rapman.htmNo idea where you would find one though. My friend Priscilla still has one of those exact same keyboards too. Man, I soooo remember alot of those cheezy sounds on it. You can make your voice lower and higher in realtime! Xelebes
Casio VL-1 Classic toy-synth right there. I also remember having a toy synth, but I could not really tell you what it was other than having a reedy sound to it.

suzumebachi
i used to have a Yamaha PSR-6. not exactly a toy instrument, but with preset sounds like "Dog Piano" you can't go wrong.
