  1. Hey everyone! I just completed this solo piano arrangement of "Flowers Blooming in the Church" from Final Fantasy VII and I thought you guys might enjoy it. I had seen a handful of piano arrangements of this piece, but overall this version of Aerith's theme doesn't get the attention it deserves. For my arrangement, I really wanted to push that tragic and expressive side of this piece, while staying true to the original tune. I've also included a link to the sheet music download in the Youtube video description. Hope you guys enjoy and have a wonderful weekend!
  2. Thanks everyone! I'm glad you enjoyed my little rendition. The actual keyboard I'm playing is a Roland RD-100, but I'm using the Garritan CFX concert grand VST for the actual sound. I was previously using Cinesamples "Piano in Blue" on many of my previous performances, but the CFX has been a game-changer for me. Thanks again!
  3. Hey everyone. I recently completed work on a short medley from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening centering around Mabe Village, Inside the Houses and Richard's VIlla. This game has always been near and dear to my heart, so I wanted to put my own take on some of my favorite tunes from the game. I'm using this video as the starting point for a 3 part series of medley arrangements featuring music from Link's Awakening. Hope you guys enjoy this and have a wonderful weekend.
  4. I've done Chrono Trigger arrangements in the past, but the short 14-second theme for "Manoria Cathedral" has always been one of my favorite pieces of music from the game. Since the original theme was so short, I decided to do an improvisation based on that theme and flesh it out. My good friend Nathan offered to transcribe the piece and ended up finishing it in just a few hours. The sheet music is linked in the video description. Hope you guys enjoy!
  5. Hey guys, I recently completed an arrangement of Song of Storms for solo piano. Still polishing up the sheet music, but I will release it eventually. I love the original tune and I really think its one of the most memorable pieces in video game music history. With my arrangement, I wanted to expand the piece a little bit harmonically and add some delicate ornamentation in the melody. The end result felt more like a piece of Breath of the Wild, than something from Ocarina of Time. I'm considering doing versions of all the ocarina tunes from the game in the future. I think it would be fun to expand on them in a similar vein. I had a lot of fun working on this, and I hope you guys enjoy it too. Thanks for listening!
  6. Thanks for all the lovely comments everyone. I upload. a new arrangement on YouTube Friday. This week's will just be solo piano, but Katie and I have some fun plans in the coming weeks. Considering arranging Breath of the Wild's music for Kakariko Village. I think it would work well. I'll keep you posted. Definitely check out the rest of the stuff. on my YouTube channel though.
  7. Thank you! Yeah, I agree it could be longer. I make 1 video a week at the moment, so I kinda have to churn this out. For that reason, some of them end up being a little on the shorter side. One day I'll have to extend them.
  8. Woops! I can't believe I forgot to actually link the piece. I feel dumb now. Thanks for giving me a heads up!
  9. Hey guys, I recently completed a little arrangement of "Secret of the Forest" from the SNES class Chrono Trigger. This piece gets covered and arranged fairly often, but I decided I wanted to try my hand at it. A lot of the best covers for this piece either tend to be either a full replication of the original instrumentation or a solo piano piece, so I decided to meet somewhere in the middle and approach it as a piano and flute piece. The result is something that I hope is simple, approachable and a little elegant, while still retaining what made the original piece by Yasunori Mitsuda so special. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as we loved working on it. - Daniel.
  10. Hey guys, I've been playing FF9 a lot this week since it was rereleased on PS4. I had forgotten just how fun and memorable the music was from this game. The battle theme is especially fun and I love how it serves as a throwback to all the other battle themes in FF history before 7. I didn't really see that many solo piano arrangements out there, so I decided to write one and play it to some game footage. Hope you enjoy! Have a great weekend everyone!
  11. I've been working on a new EP with lots of chiptune elements that will be releasing in December. I thought I'd share a little sample of it. The EP will be a mix of chiptune elements, acoustic piano pieces, ambient electronic music and analog synths. Hope you guys like it! I'll be updating pretty regularly on my channel as we head to release. Hope you all are having a great day!
  12. Hey guys, I recently arranged and recorded a solo piano version of Kakakiro Village from OoT. I initially went for something more involved, but I decided to scale back and do a simple piano arrangement with some subtle reharmonization of the original tune. I think a big reason why the original tune is so effective is its simplicity, so I didn't want to make it too complicated. The biggest focus for me was getting that melody to sing and making the voicing of the chords towards the end of each phrase clear. I really wanted to accentuate that warm and fuzzy feeling I got when I first heard this tune. Hope you like it. Thanks!
