Website director - Global-Trance
(abg, OA and Yashafan will assist when needed)

Special thanks to: abg, Avaris, Bahamut, bLiNd, Brandon Strader, Emunator, Global-Trance, HitoriJaNai, Jewbei, KyleJCrb, Level99, LuIzA, Theophany, & Yashafan2004 for helping any way they can for the project.

Project has been official since September 19, 2009.
1st WIP Date: November 20, 2009 (Friday)
2nd WIP Date: February 20, 2010 (Saturday)
3rd WIP Date: July 20, 2010 (Tuesday) - Extended date
4th WIP date for substantial or almost done WIPs: November 20, 2010 (Saturday)

Would like to release this project on Dec. 20, 2011. Please work on your tracks so we can reach this possible goal! I need at least 40 finished tracks by the end of this year to make this date realistic.

PRIVATE FORUMS! Please make your account if you are one of the artists for this project! As soon as you have signed up, let me know IMMEDIATELY so you can see the forum!

Genre:
All familiar genres are welcome, of course we prefer rock, electronic styles (electronic as in breaks/trance/pop-dance/house), orchestra/rock hybrids, orchestra/electronic hybrids. A lot of those would fit well to these styles for the sources. Something to consider with song selection and genre choice... Sometimes what makes an arrangement or remix good is adaptability of a track to your style/genre (they go hand in hand really). Please don't choose a song based on its popularity, or that it sounds great on its own. Listen to the song technically and see if it will fit to your genre. Adaptibility is a HUGE deal when it comes to remixing and many remixes and projects fail because of this point specifically. Plus its easier to remix a song that fits you and your genre of choice! You don't want to take a track with complex melody lines and fast tempos for a trance song, it might work better for an orchestra instrument in an orchestral arrangement, or rock because of the versatility of guitars. Of course this point is just something to consider and you don't want to put your song in a box either, if you can execute an orignal idea well then by all means do it, but sometimes it's easier to execute when its arrangeable and seems MADE for your genre...

Note: orchestra only should be carefully considered based on your abilities and samples. Most of the soundtrack is already arranged for that style but including it in a hybrid style is what we are looking for, not something thats completely symphonic. Of course this is subject to change and if you can give us a great arrangement that has SOUL to it, then it will be considered. And of course piano arrangements are welcome but this takes a great deal of performance and arrangement skill. Sometimes the best arrangement for a source is a beautiful piano arrangement. This is all subjective and of course we aren't going to limit your creativity, but it might help things execute and move more smoothly. Throw us your ideas and thoughts about the songs you want and the styles you want to do them in and we will consider all of it, but ultimately your WIP will show if these factors were considered.

Another thing to consider what I expect in WIPs... is listen to both original tracks in Wild ARMs 1 and Alter Code F (PS2 version)! It will help you. If you need help tracking them, inform your leader!

Current Project Status as of 08-08-2010:
-20 claimed songs without WIPs
-1 open tracks to be claimed
-27 songs with rough and/or substantial WIPs, 7 that is almost done.

Sadly I don't remix, but I definitely am in full favor of a Wild Arms project. One of my favorite video game OSTs. I'd love to see this happen.

Hmmm. They remade this game for PS2. Are any of the tracks different?

Also, some forum heavy-hitters might swing around to tell you this, but it's difficult to jump into managing a project if you're not well-established in the community. Now yes, you're the wife of a well-known remixer and you've been listening to remixes for quite some time, but if people don't know you well personally it's not easy to stay on their backs to submit tracks. I've been an active poster for over two years and right now I don't think any project I managed would get very far. Hopefully that will change, but down the line.

Yes, Alter Code F. WONDERFUL remake.. The soundtrack was replaced with new music, though.

Yeah, Jordan and I have talked about the difficulty of a project. But this is just to test and see if anyone is interested first. Nothing is going to be done quite yet. I am willing to be more involved in the community and to learn what I need to.

I'm almost always up for projects, just because I get to have more fun with the remix than normal since I'm not worrying about pleasing the judges.

I'm up for grunt work (menial tasks that don't require musical or web-design skill). I know that's not the help you really need, especially at this juncture, but if I can help I'd love to.

Great soundtrack, yes. More than enough there for at least one disk's worth of mixes.

EDIT: Jade, you might want to go with Wild Arms Complete Tracks for your track listing, since the Wild Arms OST leaves off more than half of the tracks and some of these left off are quite good and/or memorable (Wild Arms, Power Fighter, After The Chaos And Destruction, Marsh Where The Migrant Birds Gather, Kishum Flame, Battle Demon, The Prologue Begins From Here, etc). Also, the OST is chronologically whacked-out; Complete Tracks isn't perfect chronologically but it's much better. See: wikipedia, rpgfan.

Also FYI: Zophar's minipsf library has the OST but is missing the first nine tracks; it has most of the tracks left off the OST but these are in random order. If this project garners interest I'd be happy to retitle, reorder, and re-rar these (and throw in the missing tracks as mp3s, if we can do that) so potential remixers can get a good listen to all the tracks. See: zophar's.

I've never played the games but if you ever start the project, you can consider me interested. I do it for the music more than gameplay nostalgia.
