  2. The People's Remix Competition 391 PRCv16-6 Hello everyone and Welcome to the People's Remix Competition! Last round it was TheVideoGamer who got another win. The biggest surprise of that round was that the source was selected by Bundeslang, this normally only happens at special rounds. As a result, it took him 11 days to post the results, also a PRC record. YorkshireLakeside also contributed. Source: Stardust (Amiga) - Boss Fight 4 MIDI File Source Information ThaSauce link: Click here to submit To submit a song at the compo page you can use the ThaSauce page. If you use this, an account is required. If you don't want to use ThaSauce, please upload the song somewhere else and post a download link in this thread. 5. It' there, but it's been slow, with an average of 0 entrants. PRC and MnP sort of suffer the same to be honest. PRC388 and 389 only had 2 entrants, and while MnP is doing slightly better, MnP101 still only had 3 entries. Again, it's been a slow year, maybe things pick up, who knows, it might be because aren't familiar or anything like that. Oh well, glad your doing ok.
  6. Thanks! Between this and the other piece I posted here, getting the brass notes to sound a bit more varied in velocity was a common issue that came up, so I'll be sure to sort that out in the future. Thanks again for your input. Cheers! Yeah Youtube seems tough to get some traction on, I'll add some more tags like you mentioned. I've got a Soundcloud too, but that seems similarly quiet. To be honest, every time I look at the Youtube video I'm sickened by the shoddy image (ie. the composition and layout, not Toriyama's work naturally) that I set as the video's background. I suspect it does no favours for the video's potential viewership. It serves as a constant reminder not to spend multiple evenings working on something and then cobble together a bad photoshop last minute lol. And yes, pretty much all the instruments in the piece come from EastWest, aside from a few (some synths, the organs) that come by default with Cubase. Glad you liked it!
  7. Wow! What an awesome group effort! Live instruments are definitely the best for orchestral covers. Only critique I have is that the way it ended was kind of dull. I would've preferred hearing something more climactic to close things off, like a crescendo.
  8. Welcome to the voting stage The mixing stage is over. This round has 3 songs. The following people entered: TheVideoGamer YorkshireLakeside PlanarianHugger (if you want a different color, let me know by replying or sending me a PM). To vote, do the following: · Visit the stated ThaSauce Page and listen to all the entries. · Scroll to the form at the bottom of the screen or click PM. · Fill in the entries from first to third the ThaSauce form or fill in your top 3. · State a reasoning for it. · Participants are encouraged to vote and leave feedback. However, they may not vote for themselve, they get a free first place if they vote, they only have to fill in their top 2. · Always look in this thread to find out who's the winner of the round after the voting stage instead of only looking at ThaSauce for the results. Especially since some people might vote by sending me a PM. You have until THIS Monday, April 22nd 10:59 AM ThaSauce time (17:00 UTC, 18:00 GMT) to vote. If you vote by PM make sure that your top 3 is clear. I prefer something like this: (To) Bundeslang (if you follow the link you won’t have to add my name). (Subject) PRC ### Vote (Message): 1: (remixer A ) 2: (remixer B ) 3: (remixer C ) (reasoning) I will post the feedback given in the PM’s and the votes in this thread. The winner may choose the source tune for PRC387. Check the ThaSauce Page to vote or click here to send a PM.
  9. Oof, $260? That's way too pricey for what this is. For that kind of money, I'd expect something more along the lines of those previously mentioned 1up Arcade machines (hell, the Street Fighter II one is only $249).
  10. *****Project Update #1***** With the advent of this update, and GlacialSpoon signing on for Spawnship, we now have 6 remixers on board with at least another 10 interested in a few months once other commitments are fulfilled! Things are looking up and it's not even been a month! Sure, there's only been 1 initial WIP submitted so far, but none of the deadlines have been breached and everything looks to be on track! I'm excited and hopeful for this album. Definitely a good idea to scale back since Arcadia Legends and focus on a more condensed and focused 1-disc album for my second project. Will be updating everyone like this at least once a month to keep interest current and to be 100% transparent to remixers and fans of JFG about the state of the album! Look forward to more progress next month! EDIT: And now we have Piratecrab signed on for Boss Battle!
  12. This IS ambitious and wow it starts off no bars held. And WOW the YT algorithm has utterly failed you mate. You'd think that a tag like Chrono Trigger would garner at least 10,000 views off the bat. Google sure is a shitty Big-Media pandering, Disney-cock sucking garbage pit... Do you have Soundcloud and Bandcamp?? Might get more views there. Right. Loving the production and the breakdown at 4:00 is great. Is this E/W symphonic library samples??
  13. Any luck with Spin the Wheel? I've been out of the loop for some time. Working on project stuff and general health stuff I already ranted about lmao.
  14. I uh, I'll pass. I'm not a fan of Plug'n Play stuff, let alone oddly made ones (clear buttons and a face shaped like the Capcom logo?). And it better be heavy, or else two people playing on that thing will be awkward as hell... especially with the fighting games. If they were doing this as a new retro pack for consoles and Steam, I'd be all over it. But I'm not spending $260 (based off of the current Euro pricing of €230) so I can play the games that they haven't released in past compilations.
  15. Last week
  16. Holy shit, they got some of the best Capcom arcade games ever on here.
  17. Did anyone ever get one of those 1Up arcade machines? Between those and now this, people seem excited for the classic arcade feel of it all.
  18. Please don't post awesome announcements like this before 7:00PM. My boss says I'm not allowed to nut at work anymore. <:O <:O <:O
  19. So it looks like Capcom is jumping on the recent Plug N Play bandwagon for their arcade stuff...
  20. Proof positive: Legacy of the Wizard, Ultima Exodus
  21. New Moomin Music remastered and remixed from Moomin OST! Brand new Moomin Remix with violin!
  22. Thebitterroost is right, there's tons of NES games without remixes here. I'm still waiting for more Battletoads (either the NES game or the arcade game) remixes (those 2's soundtracks have great dance grooves throughout). Milon's Secret Castle might have been on the AVGN show (that might explain the lack of remixes) but sometimes bad or mediocre games can have great soundtracks, right?
  23. Wow. WOW WOW WOW. This is great, and has a lot of emotion behind it. In many sections it was very reminiscent of the "Han Solo and the Princess" (Love Theme) theme from Star Wars (Which is one of my favorite musical pieces from that series). WELL DONE!!!!
  24. OK, so that's 2 votes for an extension there. Extension inbound. We're coming in hot - brace for no-submissions impact!! Speaking OF votes, luckily no one submitted any yet, so we're good there.
  25. What did you think? Post your opinion of this ReMix.
  26. Hello all! This is my first attempt at remixing something from a game. I had this idea while watching Hbomberguy's DK64 stream from a while ago and threw this together. The transitions are clumsy, the drum part is thrown together haphazardly, and I have zero working knowledge of EQ or balance, but I'm proud of it. Someday I might record it with live instruments. I'm happy to hear constructive feedback, and if anyone can direct me to resources for me to learn more about music production, it'd be greatly appreciated.
