  1. Well then, I guess I'm doing a voice-over. I'll post something to this thread in the next couple of days. Thanks to @TheChargingRhino for taking the first plunge! I'll also finish posting the Andross tracks this weekend so everyone can hear all the sources. Everyone can contribute something, whether you want to help by designing part of the root track or just clapping your hands into a mic. Don't worry, we'll find something for you, Star. This track is now yours, MB. Thank you! Personally, I was hoping to get the waltz from SF SNES on this album somehow, but the choice is yours which track you use (just let me know which one you decide on). No genre restrictions, interpretation is wide open; my only guideline is to try to 'tell a story with the sound.' Oh yeah, and the OCR submission guidelines. ___ 22 claims ... and since this Andross collaboration seems to be taking some sort of shape, that means... DISC 2 - VENOM HAS NOW OFFICIALLY REACHED ITS FIRST GOAL OF 12 TRACKS! Thank you to everyone who has participated in this so far. I really appreciate all the collaborators who have also stepped up this week and offered their services too - I am really happy with how this is all turning out and EXCITED to hear what comes of this! Now, just because disc 2 has reached its first goal does not mean claims are cut off. There are four more tracks for the second disc I have listed in the project overview that are open to claim and lots of character themes still open. Even boss themes! Also, only ONE TRACK LEFT for disc 1 to reach its first goal - which will also have some other tracks open to claims. This project is still recruiting! Let us know if you want in!

  3. Have majority of my bonus track done. Not going crazy with the arrangement because, honestly, I love the song as is and only want to bring the instrumentation more up-to-date. Trying to focus my attention more on productions this time around. I'll have it submitted by Saturday.

  4. Ah, that makes sense . I mainly used VOPM and some trance VSTs that come with Mixcraft . If you have any recommendations on VSTs I'd be glad to hear them. And you mentioned the SEGA Genesis . Funny thing is that I do make SEGA Genesis music as well: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/700471

  5. I vote on the voiceover as well. And to get things started, I guess you can put my name down for Sector Y. Are there any arrangement preferences or genres I should follow?

  6. Never can have enough Aquatic Ambiance! It's funny you mention Phil Collins, because a lot of DKC songs are very reminiscent of Genesis/Phil Collins. Onto your mix: the actual structure is pretty straightforward. Think you might have been able to introduce more unique patterns earlier into the song. The whistle effect that comes in at 0:46 is a little flat. Not sure if adding some reverb or a delay would help give it some more depth, but it might. The drum solo at 1:36 could probably benefit from hitting at different notes or mixing up the use of different types of toms. Don't think it captures the transition you're trying to achieve. 1:37 on is my favorite part. I love the acid synth arp in the background and when you start switching up the melody. The sound scape is really nice. You do a nice job using the synths, pads and beat to capture a darker atmosphere for AA. I really enjoy this track and look forward to hearing where you take this!

  7. I'm digging this. It is smooth as hell, but it's pretty conservative. I hear that Phil Collins influence (Mama is my favorite song), but it seems like it's lacking what's needed to set this mix apart from the rest. I would put in a couple solos and change things up here and there, especially the drum work, fill ins, drop outs, filtering...get freaky with it! That saw lead could use some beefing up as well. Maybe some phasing and modulation would be nice. And some nice transitions from section to section would be cool.

  8. Dibs on the theme from SF. Let's beat that one track from Double The Trouble! for number of ReMixers. And, YES! DO A VOICE OVER!!!

  9. I mainly work on electric guitar and bass with Studio One 2, record, mix, and master myself. I also have some experience with drum/sample/synth programming.

  11. Well, buddy thank you so much! I need to make the sheet music for your files you sent me the other week now that I am in a place to do it, but just know you are on my mind. Seriously, though, if anyone needs anything, I would be glad to make the sheet music of your tracks and record whatever instruments you want. I can even send you the sheets music! Jorrito and Chernabogue needed brass, so I did just that. Just ask them if you need a reference.

  12. Midi as in the sounds u used which make it sound like a Sega genesis soundtrack. I would try and find more better synths to use. The idea is right and the arrangements is good, but the sounds could be better. I'm sure you can find a really good EDM or Trap soundpack which comes with good synths.

  13. There was a recent discussion of ads for OC ReMixes on YouTube that some of the staff here MIGHT have heard about. I've done a little bit of browsing and investigation and noticed that OverClocked Records has very little - if any - advertising presence outside of OCR itself, aside from a few articles that are two years old. Heck, there's no advertising on the OC Records site itself either. This seems counter-intuitive, considering how much advertising there is for OCR. Is there no appetite for advertising this awesome music elsewhere, or is there a cost/legal restraint, or has no one thought about this because they are too busy with other things?
