  1. So we're in April already, and I'd like to remind y'all that we have a new deadline coming up. The next deadline is April 30! Also a reminder, if you don't check in with an updated WIP or neglect to tell us if you can't make the deadline, we'll unfortunately have to drop your claim. So don't let that happen and check in with us, ya hear? @Blake Inc. and @PabloComa are in the clear for this deadline, they already reached out to us with their status for this check-in. Really looking forward to seeing the first WIPs from @Sagnewshreds, @JonnyAtma, @Fishy, @dannthr, @HankTheSpankTankJankerson, @HeavyViper and @Kylok. Don't let us down and in stead amaze us with the coolness you'll bring! Also looking forward to updated WIPs from @zykO, @Rexy, @audio fidelity, @Harmony, @djpretzel, @Jorito, @Kylok. You're off to a great start, so keep it coming. And of course a shout out to @Hylian Lemon, @Chernabogue, @Sbeast, @Starphoenix, @Thirdkoopa. You guys are nearly there and it'd be awesome to see you bring your track to its completion. Lastly @Yami and @RebeccaETripp expressed interest in claiming a track. If you're still interested, don't forget to stake your claim There's 3 weeks left to that next deadline, so plenty of time to bring the goodness!

  4. Voted. We got some good mixes this round! I wrote much more than I needed to in my reasoning for why I picked which because they were all pretty close for me.

  6. Hi everyone! First time posting in this section of the forums... Kinda nervous! I wanted to share my cover of Jesper Kyd's song 'Ezio's Family' from Assassin's Creed 2. I'm not intending on submitting this to OCR, because I know the arrangement is far too conservative to warrant submitting, but I would like some feedback on my production quality, mixing/mastering, performance etc. so I can improve when I do decide to submit something to OCR. All the voices and instruments (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, celtic harp, piano, celeste sample) are performed by me (except the violins), and I also did all the mixing/mastering. This was a collaboration with ViolinGamer who performs all the violin parts you hear in the piece, therefore all critique regarding his performance would go amiss on me! Though, tips on mixing violins would be appreciated. A few things I know I could work on straight off the bat: the recording was mixed too quiet by normal standards (probably due to the solo vocal's dynamic range throughout) the mix is possibly too wet for most people, but I personally enjoy it as it sounds similar to the original song the outro between the guitar, harp and celeste could've been more in time with each other Here's the links to download/listen to the cover: YouTube video | FLAC download | Apple Lossless download

  8. Man, I've got too many to list. The worst is Demon's Souls. It's fairly good until right after you beat the Phalanx; the first boss. Then, especially if you picked the wrong class, the game just becomes stupid tough. Like, "No job, no girlfriend, no-future-if-you-want-to-beat-this-game" tough. I've solved this problem now by researching any game I'm about to buy (though I almost never buy games these days) and if I find out that the game is absurdly difficult with no adjustable settings or requires an enormous investment of time just to make it through the story (and most game stories are garbage anyway) I dodge it like

  9. Unfortunately, the Staff Roll tracks have already been taken by @Slimy as a part of his Ode to Star Fox remix. 'Come in Corneria' as you call it (or 'Game Clear Demonstration' as my source file calls it) has not been claimed, but now that I've submitted the project to OCR (even though I changed the tracklist one last time just after I did), I'm reluctant to change the tracklist any more than it already has been. I'd offer you the claim as a bonus track, but you already have Clipped Wings on the way! That being said, I've considered adding a narrative element to the album after the last conversation we had regarding a 'radio play' approach to SCRAMBLE - we boiled it down to the vocals we have at the beginning, but I still think it's a cool idea. @YoshiBlade's Candy Corn album was a big inspiration to me in this regard; listening to that whole thing gave me buckets of ideas for possible future projects. I'll consider this over the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, everyone: feel free to let me know what you think about this. ----- I've received @M_Blacki's Sector Y update, and he's now let me post to the WIP spreadsheet. He's gone with the SF64 version instead of the waltz from SF SNES - give it a listen and let us know what you think!

  11. Since we had a deadline earlier this month, it's time for an update We've had some shiny new WIPs from ThirdKoopa, Rexy, Kylok and the Eino Keskitalo/Jorito duo and also a great update (two actually) from Chernabogue. Also, as you probably already saw, we gained some more interest and that resulted in claims from ThirdKoopa, Kylok, HeavyViper and HankTheSpankTankJankerson. If I didn't do so yet: welcome aboard, guys! Good progress overall, but unfortunately we didn't receive updates from all of you. For some of you that's okay, because you told us why you couldn't do an update for the deadline and what it means moving forward. Unfortunately there's also some people from whom we didn't hear anything at all... So, to prevent claims from being stalled with no tracks in sight, we'll do things slightly different moving forward. If you can't meet a deadline, tell us why and how you'll remedy it and we'll work it out. However, if you neglect to at least tell us why you're not going to make the deadline, your claim will be removed. Of course you can get it back if you send us a WIP, but if somebody else snatches the claim, you're out of luck. We're doing this to prevent tracks being stalled with claims but no progress when other people would have loved to remix them. Hope you understand, and let's show those pesky album director people how it's done for the April 30 deadline, hmkay? Peace out.
