  1. EQ is one of those things that I tend to be pretty "minimal" with most of the time. I say that because most of the time I'm just doing basic stuff with it and not really a ton of tonal shaping. Really, because in mixing I'm not really worried so much about the tonal qualities of individual sounds most of the time. I'm really just working to make them fit together. So, in that quest and pursuit I just focus on doing things such that you really don't notice my EQ much. You've really got to distance yourself from that and try to bake the mix into your composition from the get go. A solid direction of how things should sound before you even get into mixing. I use my Neumann KH120As for judgement of things. I love these things. I have a pair of soundsticks out where I do my soldering because having some tunage when you're soldering and fixing kit is a great bonus. Everyone else! Teh MP3. Teh FLAC.

  3. Soo, I've sent this to a few people, but from what I can tell, the message hasn't been viewed yet. Anyway, I noticed someone was using the BadAss logo on shirts, & selling for profit. Not sure if there is anything we can/should even do, just thought I'd bring it to the attention of the site. https://www.sunfrog.com/Jobs/Physical-Therapist-Assistant-90880516-Navy-Blue-Guys.html?58171

  4. @DarkEco, this is all sounding very familiar to me. Being a fairly long-time gamer myself, I'd like to say from my side of the fence that I haven't quit gaming - my games mean too much to me to give up completely - but over the years I have found myself playing them less and less as my life has become more and more complicated. I average now about 16 hours a month; about 8 hours every other Sunday (when I can get away with it). When I do game, I find myself going back over those old titles - sometimes it's a track I hear on OCR, or an interesting article, or even an obscure reference that makes me want to play a game again. Did that recently with Super Mario RPG; after hearing some of the amazing songs on the SMRPG album, I HAD to pick up the game again to get a little context to the tracks I was hearing. That being said, like @Skrypnyk I have a very hard time justifying going to the next generation of console. I've played the console hardware shuffle over eight generations now and it doesn't make sense to me to pay $450+ CAD to upgrade to a PS4 that I want maybe six games for and have very little time to play. As far as 'cutting back' is concerned, I was trained at a young age to schedule my game time; typically blocks of one to three hours depending on whether my brother was using the games and/or whether my homework was done or not. Once I moved out, blocks of three hours became blocks of eight to twelve. Now that I'm older, I still consider a good day's worth of gaming at eight hours, but the frequency is far less. I don't think a full 'detox' is necessary; I think some scheduling and a little self-discipline should bring a little more balance to your life, so you can pursue other activities AND still enjoy a game form time to time. But hey, this is just my opinion. If you think you need to do this, then don't let me stop you - I'm just saying there's more than one path.

It's really fun. I like how it's more than just a defend-the-door horde mode that Junkenstein was (thought Junkenstein was really awesome).

  6. Even if there's an existing font, the way it's arranged is original and should be protected (by the original logo creator).

  8. Nothing wrong with a simple House remix. 1:14 is the most interesting ^.^ - the bass drum gets a bit loud and seems to clash with the bass. Otherwise it's okay for an unfinished product

  9. Sure, add a mediafire link. if you like. EDIT - Yeah, I worked pretty hard to E/Q it with my Soundsticks and Bluecats E/Q...probably not the most ideal software for the job, but I think it does the job. I spent probably 4 hours tweaking the fucking E/Q on Whipper Killer LOL. God E/Q can be so exhausting. I remember that one, loved it! Binary Verve hasn't suffered too much IMO - well I can sort of tell that there is a bit of muddying around the edges...using mah soundsticks, so I get the best sound out of a track...good ole Linear sound. BTW, Binary Verve would totally work in a videogame, just needs a loop point haha. On a random ADD tangent, for my Bad Ass Vol3 entry (bof2 deathevan), I probably spent close to 80 hours on getting the balance to sound...passable...because I had wayyy too many channels and too many multi-band-awful samples to work with. Fucking shit I swear to never get that ambitious again until I get better samples and a Solid-State HD. Prob a better job so I can afford this shit too.

  10. Dude SoundCloud's encoding is just straight up garbage. My hats are garbled past what sounds like about 12KHz and same with my wonderful saw stab. It is what it is. I can upload a lossless version and/or HQ MP3 and put it up on my MediaFire if desired. Not a big deal for me to do so. One thing I can say about SoundCloud encoding is that you have to be "somewhat" aggressive with the limiting and compression in a track for it to have little effect. However, it is a hard one to pin down because some tracks sound great. Devotion to the Motif sounds pretty good all things considered, with only some garbling on the FX sounds really. Binary Verve all sorts of garbling all over the place. It really is kind of hit or miss.

  11. Comments: It's basically a very souped up sound upgrade and I repeated several sections to kinda lengthen it a bit. Also altered the octaves, added new instruments, kick ass drumwork and a very Obermein II bass. Actually the synth leads and pads are also Obermein II. Hope you guys enjoy it
