  1. I find it very impressive that you are able to pull off a mix of two emotionally charged tracks while throwing in the dubstep and glitch! It's intense yet touching. The parts sound pretty balanced to me, and it is engaging all the way through. I'd download it.

  2. I agree that it could use some more variation, but the sound is great. The acoustic guitar doesn't overpower the strings/flute, it's nicely blended. You've captured the original feel of the track with a little extra oomph. Keep at it!

  3. Vidilian, I added the reverb on a instrument by instrument basis, so lessening the reverb on the lower pitched instruments shouldn't be too much of an issue to solve. Thanks for the continued feedback!:)

  4. Reverb is also tends to be a thing you need to clean up with EQ, just like the instruments themselves. I'm not to familiar with how LMMS works or how you implemented the reverb on the tracks, but if there's a way for you to tweak the frequencies of the reverb (removing some low end, etc) the you should look into that too. Overall, you've definitely improved the EQ for the instruments from what I remember last time though. Keep it up

  5. heh. so last year, after months of working through it, i came out to my wife as a transgender woman and let her know that it was important for me to transition. she struggled with it for a while, but we've been together since high school and have two kids and are ridiculously co-dependent (and being married to a woman is not a deal-breaker), so we're doing pretty well. after meeting with a therapist, i began hormones last fall, and l, since then, I've come out to most of my friends and family to universal support and acceptance. which has all been great. despite my almost entirely positive experience, the whole process has been an ordeal emotionally. I've been working through a lot of internal issues, relitigating a lot of my past experiences, worrying about the future, struggling with myself, etc. I'm not out at work yet (though I'm planning on coming out in the next few months), so that's been another big, soul-crushing source of stress and anxiety. it's been a big change and more big changes will continue to come, even as much of my life remains stable. I'm so much more anxious and stress-filled, but still relieved and excited not to live dishonestly carrying this burden. how bout with you?

  6. Thanks I'll try some stuff out at another time. I'm trying to make as many remixes as possible to get better than come back to them after a while when I get better.

  7. Damn, those are some short sources, especially that main source - it sounds more like a texture than it does an actual theme. This arrangement takes these ideas as far as they can go, utilizing the gameplay theme as a texture under quite a bit of lead work (based on other tracks in the game) and soloing. Going through the sources, this thing isn't a remix of any particular source - it's just a remix of the entire game's soundtrack, using the gameplay music as the glue keeping it all together. For a game with such a limited soundtrack, this is probably the best approach one could take, and it's done oh-so well here. Performances and production is on point, and so is the arrangement. To be honest I was close to just DP'ing the whole thing, but it's such a strange source and interesting implimentation that I figured it could have a pass through the panel, just in case I'm overlooking anything. Great to have you on OCR - hope to hear plenty more from you on here. YES
