  4. How am i going to do MnP remix, if it's a solo piano piece? I might as well add a Piano VST to a MIDI and call it a day lol.

  6. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) MIDI: http://compo.thasauce.net/files/materials/MnP102_FFXIV_OST_-_Ruby_Sea_Night_Theme.mid Youtube: Deadline: May 28 @ 1PM Vote Ends: May 31 @ 11PM Submit your remix Here when completed. MnP ARCHIVE - made by Trism MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required. MnP Instructions/Guidelines Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. Most or all of the source notes must be present (but not necessarily in the exact same order), secondly the mood (energy, pacing, feelings being conveyed etc) should also be retained. For example, a source tune that is fast-paced and energetic that's remixed into a mellow/chill-out theme would be a hard sell. If you decide to do a genre swap (i.e. symphonic to techno), make sure that the conditions of #2 are met. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. Please don't make any comments about people's entries - including your own - until the Voting process is concluded. BONUS entries are exempt of this rule. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Competition Code and Conduct MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)

  7. Beginning of the year? Man, I'm almost there in the inbox! In all seriousness I apologize that we're that behind, on that front. I'm definitely missing out, though, since this is a pretty... Cool? Chill? Whatever pun we want to use, it's pretty neat. I think it'll have a fair shake on the panel when it gets there (which will be soon, I've been working my buns off cleaning up that inbox). Looking forward to getting to this one, I've gotta say.

  8. I wish I had more history to say about this track that I did with the others, but I don't. This track is just plain awesome. I thought it an interesting choice to do a spaghetti western theme for the track with Jorito pitched it, but I was willing to give it a whirl. I know this was a combo track of Yafotuma Dawn and Eastern Sky Pirates, but it was clear the Sky Pirates was the dominant theme of the two, Jorito struggled hard trying to incorporate Yafotuma into the melody somehow. Within a short span of a few months, he gave me a WIP that sealed my love for the peace and I signed off on this amazing rendition and he went full throttled and got additional performers to make it the best it could be! Definitely one of my favorite tracks on the album and hot off the heels of the atmospheric Dark Rift theme "The Darkness is Already Here." A perfect wake-up call from the somber rift, just like in the game!

  9. Funnily enough, Mac (Furilas) is also a great bass player, but I was so focused on the harmonica part that I forgot to ask him if he’d be interested in performing on bass too. Awell, the sampled bass worked pretty well too, by the sound of it

  10. As a bass player, I super super dig the electric bass on this. I can just see some full-suited, sweating Italian session player with a 60's Fender jazz bass, squished inside the pit alongside all the other musicians, trying his absolute best to stick to the notation while everyone else gets cooler parts than him. A consummate pro. This remix is awesome.

  11. I don't think I even want to say a lot here. "Epic" is just a huge understatement when it comes to describing this remix. Simply one of those tracks that make the chills run down my spine. Incredible job, everyone!
