  1. And Ghoul Patrol. I don't give one intergalactic fuck what anyone thinks, Ghoul Patrol was just as good as ZAMN.
  2. Oh, THAT DA. I couldn't figure out who we were talking about. I feel goofy now. So how old are you? I'm going to guess 34.
  3. If you have 10 minutes of space, I think I can donate a track on there. There MIGHT be some stipulation to it (see Ethics - Record Label Edition thread) but I might could find a way to work around it (considering they don't own shit from me right now). Can we talk on AIM later, mayhaps? If not, I have another track that isn't quite as good, but still might suffice. I like it anyway and I can get someone to master it cheap. Edit: Come to think of it, I might have more options than I think I do. Lemme look see later.
  4. Why does that picture of the guy with the cat shirt make me laugh so hard?

  5. It worked. I've never needed the Fruity LSD before, but it did work. :\ Thanks man.
  6. I'm not using a keyboard for MIDI, I'm trying to get it to get MIDI output. Like if I load a MIDI into FL or I want to write one (as I often to to get ideas or build scratchpads) I want to hear it come out.
  7. That's all I was looking for. I don't know where people are thinking I have a contract already. I haven't even sent anything yet.
  8. A LOT. And I understand their position, thats not what I'm asking. What I'm asking is if someone wanted to buy it already and I took their money and gave them a copy, is that the same thing? Reason I'm asking is because others I've emailed asking the same question said they'd be fine with that, so it doesn't come off as a clear-cut answer for me. If it's wrong, it's wrong and I won't do it. I'm just trying to figure it out.
  9. Since last night I've been talking to a guy who runs a decent sized netlabel (or at least a label that is primarily focused on selling Digital Downloads) that I might be a pretty good fit for. The problem I run into is that, if I try to send them my upcoming album for review, I gotta wait a couple months for them to review it and only maybe get an approval, and in that time I can't sell it on Amazon.com or anything and I might not be able to post it anywhere (have to check with them if its ok to put it up on Youtube or something). This would be a considerable pain in my ass because I've been trying to get it finished for almost a year now and I'm not going to sit on a finished product for two months waiting. I can't post it here and then come back in two months and say "Ok, NOW its for sale." What I'm thinking of doing then is just selling the album through private arrangements - like if I was selling someone here a used game or something. You send me a check (or Paypal or whatever) and I just email you the .zip file with all the tracks and artwork on it until the approval process is over.. Is that the right thing to do though? I get the feeling its unethical to do that because I'm still selling it, just not on a worldwide public forum like Amazon.com and I don't want to break their trust. At the same time, I have absolutely no guarantee it will be approved and I'm potentially losing sales. What do you think?
  10. 9 is pissing me off. First I had trouble with the damn ASIO, now it's not giving me any MIDI playback no matter what I try. The only half-clue I can get is that whenever I change the port number, I get a FL error message saying "There is no driver installed on your system." Here's what I got set on it right now. Drives me nuts I have to do this every damn time. What am I doing wrong?
  11. One of these days I want to commission a study of how a video game character with few if any considerable hits in the last 15 years and so much recent failure could still have such an influence where people keep waiting for his next game with this much anticipation. Seriously, I find it grossly intriguing that Sonic's influence is still this strong.
  12. Well, if you look hard for the DS version, you might score one that has the Soundtrack (!) with it too. Let me tell ya, Ys series music is Japan's favorite soundtracks to remix and JDK band is pretty awesome. I'd go with that one if you can find it.
  13. I don't know how many versions you'd even get the chance to try without creative emulating. I'd say go ahead with the DS/PSP version(s). I have the Turbo CD version and while its better than the NES one I played, I'm sure its been better updated since then.
  14. I have issues with this statement, accuracy being the least concern but the most appropriate one. Keep up your good search, you're bound to find someone somewhere (as you already have here in this topic) that will have a price you agree with. The problem is you're trying to get a system while its still hot. If you're going to pony up the cash, you might as well work a little harder and get yourself a newer one. If not, fear not. I've seen some deals in my day and I'm sure with the whole world at your hands, you will too.
  15. Quick question - were you looking to spend any money to build more site traffic to protagonist, or is it just user-generated content-driven traffic?
  16. I just shit myself. You owe me a new pair of pants, motherfucker.
  17. 80 hour story? Sakuraba coming up with 17 CDs of music for it is a thought worse than death.
  18. I'm trying to figure out a way to detail that maybe a Mentorship shouldn't be advertised like this in such a blatant way without sounding like an asshole, but I have clearly failed for that endeavor. The reason for this is that the connection might come off very forced, very entitled, very needy - a lot of things that sour a voluntary relationship. You have to remember that the kind of remixers you're looking to disciple from are very busy people and somehow they found a pocket of free time to devote to educating you. Therefore the relationship between teacher to student must be as pristine as possible in order to survive. I have several people I consider mentors. Rozovian is one of them, God Bless him. Dannthr has been more than an excellent mentor to me. OA. Tweek has been a lot of help. Even the Fat Man himself has volunteered some time for me. I definitely leaving someone out but I can't figure out who. It has been my great privilege to have good repoire with each of them, and thats how you have to treat it if you want it to work. Some suggestions if you find a willing mentor: - Act like an Adult. Nothing pisses off a mentor like someone who is needy, whiny, impatient, refuses to listen, etc. I'm guilty of all these and I can vouch for their effectiveness in setting you're progress back to the Stone Age. - Offer something back. These guys (or gals) offer you their time and experience and intelligence FOR NOTHING. It would certainly help concrecrate the relationship by offering to make up their time somehow. Like, if you have domain space and they need a new website, give it up for them. If they need help with something, volunteer. That sort of thing. - It pays to study some on your own time. Don't just name drop like crazy, but better defining what you need (like people suggested here) and coming back with information and research you've done on your own really lubricates communication well. I wish someone had told me this when I was your age. And thats my assessment. Make your teacher proud, my boy.
  19. You chose the best track to let us try to remix. Snakecharmers is my favorite track on this and I'm half tempted to make an attempt at it myself.
