  1. I pictured you differently. You remind me very much of someone.
  2. Genki Rockets might count as J-POP. I'm not sure. I also found a really cool song by SAWA called I Can Fly. The video is pretty "...yeah..." but I enjoyed the song decently enough.
  3. I've been getting into Perfume lately. It was pretty surreal when I heard one of my favorite songs of their's featured on American Dad as "Japanese Funk". lol.
  4. Just because I never get sick of plugging my one and only posted mix - I do wonder what an image of "Yggdrasil Speaks To Me" would look like.
  5. Do you think it would be worth it for someone like me to get something like that? You have a fairly intimate idea of what kind of tracks I work on now, and now I got a bunch of EastWest stuff to use.
  6. This is just the kind of ridiculous crap I could use after a day like mine. Let he who is without shin cast the first bone!
  7. I didn't really like it - not for any lack of technical prowess or anything like that, it's just kinda missing a lot of the stuff that made me like the original. I don't have anything against the style or anything, it sounded legit to me, I just like my music with a little more of the magic that the original had. Good luck with your track, bro.
  8. That's not what they told me last time I talked to them. I've just been trying to get a hold of someone over there. I think I'm going to have a little chat with them.
  9. Are you the guy I've trying to email since this time last year?
  10. You better leave me a couple tracks or I'll blackball you into the turn of the century!
  11. I wish people would stop bitching about VST guitars - most of them sound fine and this Hellion guy is better than a lot of others trying to do it.
  12. As far as newer generation stuff is concerned, the best new thing I've found is Motoi Sakuraba. That guy freaks me out. Also, I've been really digging Yuki Kajiura Check out Baten Kaitos Origins OST and then Xenosaga Episodes II and III OSTs. You're welcome.
  13. Huh, I just discovered this guy like last week. Funny how these things work out sometimes.
  14. Whenever I can get back to a gym, I want to get back into strength building, so my questions are for Taucer. Basically, even though this body is decently healthy and in a decent shape even after plenty of time away from serious exercise, it's fucked up for life. It only seems to understand how to do like 1/3 of basic exercises and thusly does not seem to gain strength very well and doing basic things like lifting and moving things. What kind of exercises can I do to build strength for everyday use, and how does that work exactly? I know it takes a while, I just never really got the finer points straight. I used to do this 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 routine which seemed to work but man that takes a lot of time to do.
  15. Well, I still used it. I was dissatisfied with Colossus/Goliath, but that doesn't mean I don't think its a great buy for starters at $250. In this line of work, $250 doesn't go far, so grab it, learn to work with it difficulties, and put out some good work and you'd have gained a good amount of EXP points for this line of work.
  16. Dude, you could have the most expensive and extensive library in the world and that won't guarantee your tracks are going to be any good by themselves. Remember the major foundation of this website and out culture were built out of pure waves, FM synthesis and cheap PCM samples from 1992. Fuck, man, Final Fantasy VI is glorified GM MIDI - Final Fantasy VIII-IX too. So if you can get a full-range professional library that gets you started for only $250 with a free dongle - go for it. Nothing is ever going to sound good by itself, its only going to sound good with your effort.
  17. It'd be hard to get away with J-prog-rock GYM and chiptune soundtracks for today's mainstream console videogames. Not because thats justified, just because thats how it is these days.
  18. They probably have other bundle deals, but you're already getting $3,000 worth of stuff for $1,000, I doubt they're going to want to take off an additional 50% off of that.
  19. Watch your mouth - there's no reason to be impatient and rude.
  20. EastWest Colossus, which is basically what Goliath is now with another piano thing, used to be $995 IIRC, so thats a fairly decent deal. I really did not like a lot of the samples in Colossus and most of them are pretty fucking old and hard to really do justice with, but at $249 you could do much worse. Complete libraries? Well, you could get the EastWest Composer's Collection for $995 (I think thats still the price), which gives you Goliath plus EWQLSO, EW Pianos Gold, Voices of Passion, Ra, StormDrum, and I think another one although I'm drawing a blank. Thats your complete library there, although you'd have to buy the iLok.
  21. I'll give you a bueller, you sumbitch. Remember your mantra!
