  1. I like this part in particular. Do you think when this fails (the backlash will be so huge that I believe, even in my cynicism, that failure and precedent thereof will be guaranteed eventually) that it might be the last straw before Hollywood finally gets it? Or will they keep trying until they grind themselves into the ground? I wonder why Hollywood gets the label of being "highly liberal" when they make weird, "highly conservative" decisions like these. These terms in truth are useless and are only used for common vernacular and social meaning.
  2. Gamedev.net is another huge spot and where I got some work, but it will depress you looking at all the topics of "Music Composer Available!" with 0 responses on them. Don't do that, just look for companies looking for people.
  3. Doesn't surprise me much. The generation above us don't use much of Youtube and Ocremix and Zophar and all that, so what would they care? It's not their problem, so their old school education is making them think that shit. As long as they get email and Facebook stalk their kids and grandkids, they don't need much else. Not like they really understood the internet much in the first place...
  4. It was your fault for stirring it up. You just killed the internet Stevo. Also, I'm Republican and I sure as shit don't support SOPA. What gives?
  5. No one saw it coming? I've been waiting for them to do a Pokemon strategy RPG for years now. It's only a natural progression for the series.
  6. I think I put the attack too high on the vocal, I was trying to just get it to smoothly come in and out but I wasn't sure if I was noticing that or being too picky. I don't think it's too noticable, but there's some of that in there, yes.
  7. Well do share it around so I can find incentive to make more just like it. Thank you Angel.
  8. Actually no, it's just Cineharp and some reverb plus stereo separation.
  9. Finished! Youtube link is here and at the top now:
  10. Ok, I think I got it fixed, and I replaced the detached with pizzicato. I should've thought of that earlier.
  11. I think I might've actually wrecked it, but we'll see. You want me to automate volume up and down each phrase?
  12. Turns out they were government experimental penises and that's all I'm going to say about that.
  13. I wouldn't say HAPPY, but willing is probably more accurate.
  14. Wow this is one hell of a topic resurrection. I don't even remember writing the rest of that stuff.
  15. One of the first rules of advertising is not coming off desperate. You are showing yourself off as a brand and no one's going to spend good money on a brand that's desperate. That comes off meaner than I mean for it to, but you understand the point I'm getting at. I've learned from experience that these things come back to haunt you and may even cost you a job. What WillRock said as far as the rest of that. Go hit up a bunch of Game Development websites and a bunch of indie game company sites and just ask around - and for God's sakes don't advertise yourself as "GAME COMPOSER FOR ALL YOUR MUSIC NEEDS!" every single other composer in the world is doing that. Just ask up as a humble decent person asking a question and it will be much easier to try to work inside.
  16. Howdy, I'm trying to practice my orchestral skills and create some tracks to help beef up my Youtube page some and one of the first tracks I wanted to work with was this little Fairy Fountain ditty. The arrangement is about where I want it, I just want to know whats off that I could reasonably fix. This is not mastered, I mean to master it. The string section I had trouble with so I'm open to working on that. Finished - How do I change it to Finished on the topic title?
  17. Word of warning - I'm getting antsy again and that means it's time for more project buttdoctorin'. I'm going to start hitting up these people on our list of consent so we can get consent to these tracks so we can build the damn preview already. I'm trying to help build momentum going on for this project as I do believe it would help get spurred back on to working on it. More public interest going out - more excitement coming in to get it finished - ya dig? So I will be annoying and start hounding some people for consent once I meet with Stevo. A lot of people think this project is either dead or not worthy of their time and energy and I'm about to shove those erroneous statements right back up the collective wazoo. Because that's what a good buttdoctor does.
  18. Hmm... yeah, that makes more sense when you put it that way. I'll take my comments out.
  19. Yeah what does this have to do with the FFXIII-2 Chocobo Theme?
  20. There has been a relatively large influx of newbie "game composers" coming in to advertise and I'm wondering who's been telling people this is a Game Development site. Andy, this forum is for RECRUITING and COLLABORATING, this isn't free ad space for you to grab a gig. This is also not a game development website, it is a game music community full of other composers looking for work as well. The website you're looking for is gamedev.net.
  21. Hey man, did I show you the novel I finally got published? I can't remember if I did or not.

  22. You're still super spoiled. History has shown that the quality chain doesn't start at the parts (Exciting, new, balance, music, etc.) to lead to a quality conclusion, the conclusion actually comes first and then you dissect it down to why. I think a lot of gamers would agree some of their favorite games just felt "good" and approached with an open mind to start with instead of making false idols of the individual reasons first. When gamers get hung up on the individual reasons, they start making bullshit opinions why X game sucks when it really doesn't. Super Mario Sunshine is an example. Another of my favorite examples is Ghoul Patrol for the SNES. Castlevania 64 is another good one - it got some really good review scores and then it got nothing but shit - from the same fucking people that reviewed it! EGM gave is 8.0-9.0 scores and then went on to trash it from there on out. Insane! Gamers are the most spoiled "intelligent" subculture in the Alpha Quadrant. A speck of dust gets on your diamond and then RRRRAAAAWWWWRRRRRRR. Sparta indeed it is - reality unfortunately it is not. I don't care if a game is exciting, new, novel, etc. as long as it just WORKS when it's in my hands. This game is a good buy, so goodbye, from the good guy. I'm Gene Shalit.
  23. I would've preferred you didn't jump the gun there and just leave the discussion here, but your helpfulness and enthusiasm is appreciated all the same.
