FFX HD Remaster for PS3 and Vita
Meteo Xavier replied to Brandon Strader's topic in General Discussion
Yay more Square bashing for reasons that aren't consistent and don't really make that much sense in a topic where Square's quality output wasn't really the point. Ontopic, I think its quite nice FFX is getting some more attention these days. It seems to be the quietest FF in social regard and I daresay I didn't expect them to give anything of a shit about. Don't know what they would have to improve upon without rebuilding most of the system inside it, but I hope it gets a good heavy improvement somehow. -
Guide to MIDI Orchestration

What is an "upgrade" orchestral library? There are orchestral libraries for Kontakt currently, some of which NI makes. -
Guide to MIDI Orchestration
Meteo Xavier replied to Meteo Xavier's topic in Music Composition & Production
Nah, I have EWQL and I have the composition stuff down pretty much - what I don't have is the production and knowledge to make the two really do something yet. I'm especially interested in learning to make "action cue" music with huge orchestral hits with seemingly all the horns and strings in the orchestra and tub bell and splash cymbal and choir hit all the same notes without it somehow feeling too much. Right now I can do ok with 5-6 orchestral instruments, but I'm trying to join up to the big boys here. -
Several people have recommended this book to me, now I'm wondering if anyone here has any personal experience with it. The orchestral people I've asked so far have not used it, yet I was still recommended it here. So I'm just wondering if this book is as wonderful as everyone says it is or if anyone can offer any reasonable insight of why one should or should not get it. This topic comes with the understanding that if I could learn orchestration through local classes or listening to hours of real orchestra, I wouldn't be interested in buying a book on it. Additionally, are there as qualified books that teach other genres, electronica, dance, ethnic, etc? Thank you!

Seiken Densetsu 3: Songs of Light and Darkness - History
Meteo Xavier replied to Usa's topic in Projects
Bad news from my end. My AKGs are currently not working and I don't currently have the means to repair or replace them. I think I can find someone to fix them (it's a minor repair I suspect, but one I can't do myself), but that means I'm not able to listen to any tracks. Please defer to Rozovian until further notice. Thank you! -
The lack of attention to this record is appalling, OCR. Not even a thumbs up to a record that is probably Brandon's best work to date? Give credit where credit is due. This album is actually pretty damn kickass and it came out of nowhere for a very respectable cause.

3DS: Friend Codes on First Page, OMG THE THIRD DIMENSION
Meteo Xavier replied to The Damned's topic in General Discussion
It's because of people like you that I found Star Fox Assault pretty enjoyable as a result of your unreasonable standard lowering versus actual quality found inside the game. And for that I thank you. -
How many actual composers have done remixes for this site?

I technically qualify as well. -

Don't forget Hyadain or whatever his name is. -
ALBUM RELEASE: Espers by 12 Followers/Meteo Xavier
Meteo Xavier replied to Meteo Xavier's topic in General Discussion
I didn't know topics this old could be resurrected. There are a lot of pretentious ways I could answer this question - but the real reason is I just wanted them to stand out as much as possible. Usually for New Age, Ambient albums they have boring song titles like "Quiet Reflection", "Solitude", and that's fine for their medium but it wouldn't work here. It's also something I picked up from hours and hours of listening to Motoi Sakuraba - his song titles are ridiculous. I should probably update the first post to include links to the physical CD now. Thank you those who are joining my Facebook and reviving topics like this - it makes this work extremely worthwhile! -
PSP, GBA, DS game recommendations for long trip
Meteo Xavier replied to zircon's topic in General Discussion
Understandable, but unless you're gone for a few weeks, it might be more trouble to get the dozens of suggestions plus the ones you're going to take all together than its worth for the purpose of a trip. -

How long are you going to actually be gone? You're already taking like 2.5 weeks of gameplay already. -

Didn't I just say I would never do it again? -
Additionally, look for podcast people and people to make reviews for your music. Reviews are great ways to get your name and music out there, but the trade off is music review people are swamped with submissions and unless you pay for one, you're not even guaranteed a review after you submit. Still worth trying though. I'm currently doing this with my album ESPERS, so I'll just share my list of people to send it off to with you. http://www.indiemusicreview.net/?page_id=3 http://www.indiemusicdigest.com/Submit%20a%20CD.html http://www.oemradio.org/methods.html http://analogik.com/contact-us http://electro-music.com/article.php?t=7329 http://www.eb-slices.net/ http://www.xlr8r.com/about http://www.electronicmusicmagazine.com/submit-your-own-press-release http://pitchfork.com/contact/ http://www.blip-bop.com/contact.html I haven't looked through all of these yet other than to gain links, but that should be a good start. Just look for electronic music magazines/blogs/communities, and ask about reviews.

Seiken Densetsu 3: Songs of Light and Darkness - History
Meteo Xavier replied to Usa's topic in Projects
The game companies might, but I get what you're saying. It's more that the video people themselves have not wanted to release any for that very same fear. It makes no sense to me and it presents an unfair obstacle to overcome. You brought up a good idea with Jose though. I will consult him. Good work Brandon. -

Weird Counterpoint does have a WIP on it already but apparently Rozo didn't update to include that. Hard for me to judge since there are project people I haven't gotten back to yet because I can't ever find time for it (I'm at work right now as an example). If you're still inclined, draw up a pretty good WIP version and send it to either Rozovian or myself through our several contact channels. -
I've been telling people I'm going to Magfest this year, so I guess I am. And if photobucket was working, I'd already beat you to the punch with that stick-figure four panel Magfest comic with my name in it. For some reason its like ALL on mobile now...

I'll never spend 5 years trying to beat Emerald Weapon with the same saved game and fail ever again. -
Just so I don't have to make a new topic about it. I'm interested in upgrading once I get money for it and Transient Master is actually what I'm more excited for in that package, but why does the effect run in Guitar Rig? Isn't it supposed to be used for drums and even some master mixing? Do you just put Guitar Rig then in the master and put up Transient Master or how does that work?

Last bump and we'll let the topic go: Updates to include: * Bandcamp address for this album - http://meteoxavier.bandcamp.com. * New official record label release for ESPERS - physical copy at Kunaki for $7.99 Finally, I just wanted to thank everyone who showed even the slightest interest in my music here. Yes, I had to beg some of you to look at it, but I will never take for granted the attention you gave to it and for helping me distribute it out across the interwebs. I will have more to come soon for those who are interested - including a free chiptune album with ubiktune as soon as time allows for me to get started on it. Thank you again!
