  1. Free work probably not, but there's no harm in asking. Speaking of which, Brad, is this free or paid?
  2. I had about 6-8 different employers for the whole of this album and most of them, while it was generally all congregated to be SNES-PS1 style stuff, all had different ideas what they wanted and so, yeah, there's almost no consistency between them other than they all wanted golden-era type music. I'm happy you enjoyed it.
  3. Man, I'd be absolutely happy if you wanted to do that. Thank you Chipp!
  4. What happened to those synths you were building? I know some synth heads who'd be pretty interested if you were using ones you built in them.
  5. I saw that and wrote you back. Send me a link to your music stuff and I'll post it around in kind, Shaggyman. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
  6. I will say in all honesty, I did not like Gardens. I will also say i all honesty, I quite liked The Path. It was a much easier to digest album and the added polish and instrumentation, particularly Skryp's work, really worked to its favors. Nothing really stood out, but the album itself, from start to finish, was just a much much better effort than the previous one and worked much better. I give it a 7.5 out of 10.
  7. Drive boats? Did you get a new job? I thought I forwarded you a full track one of the composers sent me a while back, like in the last couple weeks. Did you ever get that?
  8. Rozovian, where have you been? I haven't seen of you in like two weeks. I have some stuff that needs to be sent to you. And also thank you for your reigning endorsement. I am also completely willing to trade album attention and postings, in that I'd be willing to post your albums around my links and connections if you'd be willing to do the same. No reason lack of action and camaraderie should let our work stagnate. Any interest?
  9. No argument there, I just felt if there's room to improve, thats one place that could use some.
  10. And a copy of Espers? Much obliged my good man. If I can repay that favor in some way, I'd totally be willing to. Thanks again!
  11. I think part of this is the perceived and rarely but sometimes justified sense of elitism that OCR critics see with us VS the open gaming community at large. A lot of times I think it is just pissed off remixers who could never get a remix passed, but when they bitch to others and those others start looking at this site and the really hardcore attitude we have to many different things and peoples in general, and how we treat the OCREMIXER status or the PROJECT DIRECTOR status like internet caste badges of honors, and how the Judges Queue VS Direct Posting seems to work for different remixers and on, it does add up to this mentality you're talking about. These are not my criticisms, btw, I'm just saying I can see where it comes from. I do think there is some stuff we're doing that's alienating that sense of openness in the videogame communities and creating that nostalgia for vgmix.com. If you're not a celebrated badass in OCR, we tend to either ignore you politely or, in the case of some, just ridicule you for being a newb. I myself have tried to submit some ideas to you, David, and heard nothing back. One day I'd like to genuinely study the criticisms ocremix sometimes gets (like how people still say all our music is FruityLoops shit or "Just add drums!") and try to come to a substantial conclusion because it is a subject that genuinely intrigues me, but right now my honest opinion is that stuff like this comes from us just not being as open to others as we used to be.
  12. Thank you Amph, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Additionally, I'm now looking for other places and radio/podcasts places to submit this album to and get some more airplay if it all possible. Willrock suggested Newgrounds and I'm looking some others up, but would anyone recommend or suggest some other places I could post this around to?
  13. I had some mild issues with the mixing and dammit I hated that album artwork, but the core content of the EP itself REALLY surprised me with how good it was. The last track in particular was pretty killer and it left me wanting more. I'd give this album a 7/10 because I genuinely expected it to be worse. It has some mixing issues and is too short (plus I want to redo this album artwork myself) but the compositions and arrangements were just too damn smooth. Write some more tracks, fix that mixing and sell it for $3.99. I'd buy it!
  14. Update Now Available: Meteocrity Vol. 1 for listening and download on Bandcamp Physical, record-label released copies of ESPERS at Kunaki - $7.99+ s/h Good morning, afternoon or evening, ladies and gentlemen. It is my proud honor to offer, on behalf of Wardriver, this free collection of assorted tunes and tracks I have worked on over the past few years in my bold and delusional pursuits to become a video game composer - re-mixed (not remixed, sadly) and remastered by bLiNd and then as a whole by Daniel Lippert (Usabellchan). Meteocrity Vol. 1 by 12 Followers/Meteo Xavier is a very sharp contrast to my previous album, ESPERS. Very little ambiance and new age here, this is instead 18 tracks of SNES-PS1 style mid-to-fast tempo, melodically based tracks that were all done on commission or request in previous projects that, for one reason or another, never came to fruition or have yet to be published in any game form. Why should they sit on my hard drive unused? While I won't claim this album will blow your balls off or anything like that (it is free after all), I would hope fans of the 16-32bit sampled era of videogame music would find stuff to like here. Most, if not all, of these were done 2-7 years ago and done to strict employer demands (for better or worse), so if you don't like the music, you know what to kiss and where to find it. Track Listing is as follows: 1. Tempest Rush - Mastered by bLiNd during production 2. Caveat Emptor 3. Bitter End To a Thatched Ray of Light - Mastered by bLiNd 4. Five is Average - chiptune work by an anonymous artist 5. Bright Dreams From Empty Vessels 6. Wealth of Knowledge 7. Asymmetrical Conflict 8. Lofty Goals From a Forest Epitath - Mastered by bLiNd 9. Colossus of Egypt 10. Need Insurance? Get a Bullet 11. Red Dim Lights and Old Stories 12. Lunar Eclipse Millennium 13. Isolate the Variable 14. Vestigial Dance of Blades - Mastered by bLiNd 15. Exploring the Temporal Lobe with a Bomb in My Mouth 16. It Was Written on Your Tombstone - Mastered by bLiNd 17. The Heavenly Integer 18. Starry Knights All tracks except #9 and #18 loop twice and fade out. #18 is a full song and #9 loops four times by accident, but considering what my then-employer asked me to do with it, it seems fitting. Not sure what else to tell you about it except I hope you enjoy it and I hope you spread it throughout the internet so I can grow and improve as an artist. Now to give credit where credit is due: Composition/Arrangement/Mixing: Meteo Xavier Album Art: Meteo Xavier Mastering: bLiNd for Tracks 1, 3, 8, 14, 16. UsabellChan for Album mastering Posted to Wardriver and assistance in release by: Suzumbachi, Fusion2004 and Ramaniscence from Thasauce.net If I've left anyone out, please contact me and let me know so I can credit properly. Finally, reposted links for convenience. * Meteocrity Vol. 1 by 12 Followers/Meteo Xavier * Bandcamp * Facebook where tracks will be posted here soon * Wardriver's Main Page featuring other releases by Bustatunez, JMR, Overcoat and others * Record Label physical released for $7.99 + s/h * Thasauce.net - Thank you once again guys!
  15. I have yet to see why PLAY is so maligned myself. I need to check out the new PLAY 3 engine.
  16. And what would you recommend from these 3rd parties? I myself recommend SHREDDAGE and CINEHARP and recommend checking out Emotional Piano, Spirit Flute, and Zitherette from what used to be Tonehammer.
  17. Who is Jon Holand and who said he was dead?
  18. I wasn't panicking, I just wonder if anyone else has seen him lately, as I have not for well over a week. Hoboka sent me a PM and I'll get on that a little later, I'm still technically at work.
  19. Has ANYONE seen Rozo lately? I'm still backed up from last week, so I apologize I've been delayed here, but I haven't seen or heard from him at all.
  20. That's why I do everything I do.
  21. 43GB of useless samples is still a hell of lot to have that are useless. Still, we're not really disagreeing about anything. Komplete 8 ultimate sounds awesome and its a really tough call between that and CCC. Getting both is WAY too expensive though.
