  1. Any plans to release a mass download of all the submissions? I'm loving them thus far but don't want to take the time to download them all manually if you're doing it for us later.
  2. Yeah, because SRK does a really great job of covering non Capcom games on their boards... Seriously, don't hate so much. I suppose you disapprove of the gang over at dustloop also?
  3. Were you cheesed in any of them, or all legit losses?
  4. This. I figure the more fighting games I buy, the more justified I am in having custom art on my fightstick, haha.
  5. Don't knock him too much -- his game prices are super-reasonable...if only I had the extra money
  6. Awesome video sephfire -- keep them coming! Potential subject to address: Lack of religion in gaming outside of "you're good, go kill the devil / Diablo / Dracula".
  7. In short: yes, you will miss some story stuff. Read up on CT and you'll be fine. This plot is slightly easier to understand....by not by too much.
  8. Happy birthday stevo! I hope it was awesome!
  9. Unfortunately, in the days of development for every platform simultaneously, if you want an experience that feels designed for the PC, you're largely going to have to go the extra mile yourself. It's a little bit of extra work, but the reward is very well worth it. And once you've experienced the original game, you can use things like Obscuro's Overhaul (see the OP) to create an entirely new gaming experience -- something the console players have to live without.
  10. My current list of mods: Natural Habitat/Water/Vegetation/Weather (HDR) by Max Tael -- all awesome. SpellIconReplace.esp -- assigns each spell a separate icon, surprisingly useful. Quest Award Leveller -- this makes it so you can complete quests whenever, as the rewards will scale with your level. Clocks of Cyrodill -- Adds hundreds of working clocks (and clocktowers) into the game, many of which are extremely intricate and awesome looking. Very well done! Harvest [Flora] -- When you pick up flowers, the petals / mushrooms / etc actually alter their appearence to show that they've been picked. The Lost Spires -- a fanmade expansion that is all kinds of awesome. If you try only one mod that adds new content, make it this one. As far as the official DLC is concerned, I highly advise buying the Knights of the Nine DVD used if you can get it, as it comes with everything for cheap. Short of that, I really enjoy Frostcrag Spire, Spell Tomes, the Orrery (largely because the game feels incomplete without it, as you can see the room but not enter it), and Knights of the Nine. Edit: I forgot BTMod, which preserves the look of the original menus, but presents them at a resolution that doesn't suck so you can see a ton of items instead of just 6. If you're playing on PC and you don't have some sort of UI mod (BTMod, DarkUI, DarnifiedUI) you're really not getting the full experience.
  11. Awesome news! ....for you. Sucks for the rest of us though. Congratulations, and do stop in now and again -- you'll be missed.
  12. Both Super R-Type and R-Type III (harder) for SNES are amazing if you haven't played them. Coop: I can't finish G3 arcade (the only gradius game I can't 1cc), but it's still a lot more fun to play than the SNES game because of all the extra stuff.
  13. You should try the arcade version instead of the SNES one! The game is super watered down on SNES to the point of ridiculousness.
  14. I loved the movie, though I'm ashamed to say that I didn't catch the Earthbound reference...which in any other movie could have been coincidence, but not here.
  15. Probably true, but it'd be awesome if Capcom would revisit some of their older properties for MvC3 -- Arthur/Firebrand would both be awesome, as would Nathan Spencer (to promote BCR2?) or an unexpected version of Megaman (Battle Network, Powered Up).
  16. I'm online now, and will be for the next few hours, just send me an invite. Edit: Good games Jhawk -- I'll be back around 2:00 CST for more if you're still around today -- gotta study for a little while
  17. Something largely different from SC1 worth noting: Terran air to ground is good now! 2-3 Banshees can completely wreck a base if the enemy gets caught unprepared. I especially like them as augmentations of other forces -- attacking with your medivac/marine/maruaders? Send a couple cloaked banshees in from the other side. Similarly, not enough people build detection against Terran players. 3 Banshees can kill 30 probes easily, and that's an entire base's worth of economy. Putting one turret/cannon up near your probes prevents 75% of this and is well worth your cash -- do it. Double points for protoss here as the cannon blocks reapers also.
  18. I am also free Monday -- my tag is MasterTenor, hit me up!
  19. Probably true, but it futureproofs yourself also, and it still isn't anything approaching an expensive card these days. Why go for "pretty much handle" when you could have "runs everything with all settings maxed" for under $200?
  20. Happy birthday, blind! Hope you're doing something fun to celebrate!
  21. If anyone is upgrading to their first PCI-E card/board, I highly recommend the Nvidia GTX 260 -- it's a great card at the price, and will run current games at decent resolutions maxed out (I run a modest 1440x900 20 inch monitor -- bigger screens may need a little more).
  22. I find that pattern Ken's are the easiest -- they jump forward, you air throw. Repeat until victory.
  23. I'll be honest, I'm usually ahead of GI by the time it gets to me. Still, it's usually well written and since it comes with my Edge card anyway, I still enjoy getting it. That being said, it's the only (gaming) magazine I'd ever consider subscribing to these days -- Edge is decent but super expensive in the States.
