Good man. If you take a super loud track and turn down the volume to bring it into line with older tracks, you can hear how the transients have been completely crushed. I need to bring my levels down as well, though I'm not anywhere near yours.

Absolutely, I will finish as soon as possible. I need to record some acoustic guitar, and it's still pretty uncomfortable from my recent surgery, so that's another reason for holding off a little bit longer.

I'm sensing too much compression, everything feels a little too squashed. Back off a bit and let the mix breathe more.

Not particularly strange to me, the Wind Waker track has been in the pipeline for quite some time, and the deadline approaches. On the other hand, this project has been in development hell so long I don't think anyone will commit suicide over an extra week. Plus, if someone can get a track for Slider or Lullaby in the meantime, all the better.

Ok, here's the status with me. I am doing my track for On the Breath of the Wind. Once that is done, I will resume this one. So figure, maybe 2-3 weeks until this track is complete. In case anyone can do a track in that time frame.

Yep, I agree with everything said here. Arrangement is quite sparse, and some of the instruments EQ balance is way off, particularly between sections. Feels dry as well, add some more reverb to everything. Don't be disheartened, we all have to start somewhere. btw, good to see another Reaper user.

Eh, Classic Pipe Organs is really the only Garritan thing that interests me. And even there, I'd prefer something for Kontakt.

What I would like is to have Icewind Dale 2 with the 3.5 rules, and the various and sundry prestige classes of Neverwinter Nights. One can dream.

Hmm, I probably will work on this more. But there are some album projects that have to come first. Without naming names, there are certain project leaders who have been VERY patient with me... far more patient than they have any right to be.

Garritan has a 3 for 2 sale. Hmmm, I wonder how the organs is.

I have no idea how I would continue this track without making it sound like one of the myriad of other Zeal mixes. Every time I think I have an idea, I realize X person already did it. Violin would be cool. No wait, po already did that. Chiptunes? Nah, Gario already did a masterful job at that. Electric lead guitar would be sweet. No no, that would put people in mind of Zealous Entropy. As it is, the track already veers kinda close to Avaris' excellent take. So yeah, I dunno. Oh and yea, I screwed up the bass and chords, so it definitely sounds off.

This mix is an absolute f'ing tour de force. Of all the Zeal mixes, I think this is my favorite. It reminds me a lot of Why So Serious in that it take a meandering path through chiptune awesomeness.

The mix sounds... weird. Scooped. Particularly in the strings and brass. Like you grabbed an EQ and took a large chunk out of somewhere in the midrange. I definitely like where you're going with this, but you did something strange with the EQ.
