  1. FF4 is a great game, very enjoyable, but IMO the plot is laughable. Yet when I was a kid I didn't really notice how silly it was. And as an adult I can't bring myself to slag off the game for that reason. Damn you nostalgia.
  2. I played the early FFs during my childhood/teen years, so they had a lasting impact on me, as do many things during that age. I think that's why we cut them slack.
  3. That's one of the few Castlevania songs I'm familiar with. I could take a whack at it if ya want.
  4. It has something to do with resampling. I always use the default. I assume the higher settings are for crazy people. The input setting doesn't matter if you don't have a keyboard.
  5. Yep, alt-drag the side of an item. You'll see a Rate label appear on the item to show how much you've timestretched it. Yep, go to the Track Envelopes/Automation button on the TCP. Click the visible box for anything you want to see. Incidentally, the action FX: Show/hide track envelope for last touched FX parameter is very useful. Wiggle a parameter and run the action. Assign it to a key and it's much quicker than searching through hundreds of VST parameters for the one you want.
  6. The demo project All Through the Night is located here. To find yer plugin, open up the FX Browser and type the name into the filter list. If it doesn't appear, check Preferences->VST to make sure the path is represented. If it still doesn't appear, make sure you actually installed it correctly. I've never had trouble getting other apps to produce sound while Reaper is running. Check this. Make sure top box is checked. If it doesn't work, try the other one. If it still doesn't work, post on the Reaper forum. The demo works after 60 days, but by the Reaper TOS you must either delete it or purchase a license. I know, treating people like responsible adults instead of criminals, who'd have thunk?
  7. If you don't have a beta ready, my advice is don't bother with music for now. I've seen too many failed projects that focus on music early on.
  8. Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? 9. I can't even do a couple of those. Not really. I'm going to go kill myself.
  10. That's sad to hear. Never was a Slayer fan, but 49 is too young for anyone to go.
  11. I own the 4040. Never used it on vocals but it does a pretty good job with acoustic instruments. It's not as harsh in the highs as some of the cheaper mics I've used. SM7b is a classic broadcast mic and frequently used for rap and screaming vocals. It does a great job of ignoring room ambient noise. That said, dynamic mics tend to require a fairly nice micpre to get the most out of them.
  12. I would say my Outset Island mix ain't anywhere near 30%. More like 10%. So that makes me the weakest link at the mo.
  13. I would put my Legendary Hero mix at about 95%, tbh. Any further updates will be minor.
  14. What about your banner? Do you have a square version of that? That would make a good album cover.
  15. I started making sort of an 80s ballad. But honestly, I have so many tracks I need to finish, this one'll probably have to wait a long time.
  16. People will probably laugh at me, but my first playthrough of Metroid Prime scared the hell out of me. Not in a jump scare way, but a blanket of creeping dread. Combination of music, sound, great atmosphere, and playing it in the dark. The pirate lab mainly got to me, especially after the power went out.
  17. The new guy is actually good. He tries to sounds like Khan. The album is better than Poetry, which was tired and dragging.
  18. Hmm, I might be able to put together something for Zelda's theme if that's ok. The other unclaimed tracks seem kind of hard to adapt to a remix. I dunno, maybe I just suck at remixing.
  19. Yep, it took me years of dead end projects to realize this.
