  1. Yeah, Capcom made the two Capcom vs SNK games (2000 being the first), and SNK made SNK vs Capcom, which graphics wise, looked more like a KoF game (which I personally enjoyed).
  2. CvS != SvC I remember playing SvC Chaos a ton at my local mini-golf arcade, trying to beat Mr. Karate. Then it disappeared for a while, only to reappear in the nickel arcade section several months later. Unfortunately by then, it had already come out on the Xbox, and I had already grown tired of it.
  3. The orange one? Being in SoCal, there's plenty of arcades around here. There's two within walking distance of my house, one of which is part of a mini golf course. Most of the nearby malls have arcades as well. Also, walk into any local fast food joint around here and you'll likely bump into a Neo Geo with a Metal Slug, a Samurai Shodown, and an occasional KoF.
  4. i'm not deserving of having the moniker gamer in my screen name ;_; I. Thou shalt not cheat. Used GameShark to get all gold medals in Star Fox 64 Used GS/glitch for inifinte gold in Ogre Battle 64 Used Action Replay to finish Contra: Shattered Soldier Chronically abused save states in emus. II. Thou shalt not use player's guides or walkthroughs except as a last resort. I used guides all the time during my N64 days. Most notably, in Majora's Mask so I could get all the masks in my first playthrough. IV. Thou shalt not play for someone who is taking a bathroom break. It's their break, not mine. Why hold up the game just for one person V. Thou shalt not steal lives or items in a two-player game. I bummed lives off of my cousin when we played Contra: SS, but he had infinite lives, so it's all good. VI. Thou shalt finish each game that thee starteth. Only finished like 30% of my game collection VIII. Thou shalt watch quietly as others attempt the most simple and mundane levels, battles, or puzzles and not shout out the obvious method of completing them. The main reason I hate watching other people play.
  5. I made it to Ultimecia in FF VIII but never finished the game. I was underpowered and kept losing to Griever. Also FF related, X is the first and only FF I ever completed, despite owning legit copies of all the other ones.
  6. According to his forum profile, he hasn't logged in since last November, so I'd try sending him a private message (unfortunately, he didn't list his email). Also, our content policy says you can use any OCR track as long as it's not for profit and you give proper credit to the remixer and OCR, so if you can't get in touch with Paragon, you can still use his mix. Good luck on your project. The first BoR mod I played was also based on Double Dragon, so I hope this turns out good.
  7. I wish there was an option to play the game with certain things turned on or off, similar to some of the challenges (no ex/ultra meters, no specials, no jumping, etc). Balance be damned.
  8. like the one in TvC? yeah, but that wasn't a sprite. They're called lightgun games, and can be pretty fun when done right (see: House of the Dead).

  10. You're going to have to contact the remixer through email (or private message, if they have a forum account). You can also try searching the WIP forum and see if it was posted there before submission.
  11. I walked in knowing nothing about Watchmen and thoroughly enjoyed myself, so yeah go for it.
  12. Don't feel like bumping the HDR thread, so I'm posting it here. A patch is to be released soon for ST: HDR. http://www.capcom-unity.com/jimmyrey/blog/2009/03/05/sfhd_remix_patch_details The patch will address: After a number of games, the HUD will be corrupt. Yellow lifebars will freeze, the round counter flags will all be on, and the names will show more than one name. (Both) Frequent disconnects during VS transition screen. Often caused by selecting START color of character. (Both) Title crashes if user has a large friends list and tries to access the friends list (PS3) Rating being set to "0" and from then on, rating remains at "0". Once that patch goes live, we'll reset all leaderboards/scoreboards. (Both) Vega sometimes causing desyncing, especially when using the fake wall dive. (Both). Lobby list containing full rooms instead of only rooms that users can enter. (Both). Zangief Super Motion not working on both sides and in both directions. During the start of the match, there is slight slowdown. This has been minimized as much as possible. (PS3). If connecting to a ranked match through the quick match function, it is best out of 3 rather than best out of 5. It should always be best out of 5.(Both) Sending messages via XMB during a game causes a freeze. (PS3) Players not added to "Players Met" list. (PS3) Analog and D-pad can accept input at the same time. (Both) Player stats not reporting correctly.
  13. i like how the vid you posted has a link to some virus shit in the description. here's the hq flash version http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/485797
  14. Yeah, but they also made the PS2/Wii ports of Unleashed, which featured even more werehog action than the PS360 versions.
  15. He said he got challenged, so I'm assuming he had the request thing on in arcade mode. What's your language search priority? If you set it to Japanese and set your search priority to stability, you'll get much better results.
  16. http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/117505/Capcom.wav And just for the hell of it, here's the Konami chime
  17. I believe those are from the arcade original. The NES sprites aren't as detailed (for lack of a better term). Also, you've never heard of Joust?
  18. I use the Pigmask Army theme from Mother 3 for calls and the first of the 8 Melodies (the one in the doll in Ninten's house) from Mother 1 for text messages. I'm thinking about changing it to Continue to Rock from Earthworm Jim 2 though. EDIT: heh
  19. While the double blind selection was nice, it's not too important. There's no double blind selection when you go play at an arcade, or even in a tournament. So I have to put up with a few more seconds of my opponent hovering over Honda before they quickly move to Akuma at the last second. Big whoop. And there is a shortcut for focus cancels. It's not on by default, but you can map the focus attack to a single button. Same thing with throws, taunts, and 3P/3K. That happens in HDR too. Best way to avoid this is just set request to on and wail on the CPU for a while until someone challenges you. It won't be long before someone shows up, and you won't have to stare at a boring menu while you wait.
  20. PS2, since there's quite a number of games for it that I always wanted to try and/or finish, but never got around to for one reason or another. Also, it has a nice lineup of 2d fighters That Neo Geo from choice E is pretty tempting, though.
  21. Yeah, the A.I. has trouble dealing his piledrivers, I've seen. As long as you're consistent, you can just do green hand as soon as you land from a piledriver, and you'll be in range to do another one before the CPU can do anything.
  22. I liked Ken until HDR came out. After a few rounds, I got tired of seeing him so I moved to Dee Jay. I mainly use 'Gief in IV, with the occasional Dan and Sakura to mix things up. It gets annoying playing someone that jumps the whole match trying to avoid an SPD. Except Akumas, since their air fireballs are piss easy to avoid, they always telegraph the raging demon (from a full screen away), and they die quickly.
