True, but I don't think she actually listens to the show. She posted in the thread to comment on the episode #032 stinger because of the Compyfox controversy, and I believe they're friends.

Yay! Oh, and Wingless... We should talk about when we're gonna record the next episode. I'm working till 11 every night this week, then going to St Faggy's Day in Pennsylvania for the weekend. We could either try recording starting late on Thursday (for you it would be 10:00), or wait until Sunday evening when I'm at home in Boston. Either way, I won't have time to edit the show till Sunday night/Monday, but I should be able to get it out by Monday night.

VGDJ Episode 034 has been released on WWW.VGDJ.NET! Wackiness abound! But it's also a very informative show, with count 'em three remixer clips, a hefty Compo Report, and Ramalama coverage like no other. P.S. VoooooooOOOOOooooOOOOOOOOOOOoooooOOTE!

That was "I Think Of..." by Afro Celt Sound System, from their second album, Release.

Cool dudes! We've gotten a few funny call-ins this week, too. Should be a fun show. reelmojo: Hmmm, nobody brought up the issue of collaborations on this thing. That puts us in a bit of a fix because we'd have to buy two t-shirts... Well, I guess we'll just see how things go!
-
Just FYI, we've only had *one* person submit an intro for the contest so far! I could have sworn a lot of you said you'd be entering... C'mon, where dey at? (Sorry, been spending too much time with my ebony lover......errr...cohost....)

If people really like it and want one for themselves, we could certainly sell them on cafepress, but it wouldn't be for any profit. We'd put them on sale for the same price it takes to get them made, which is $15.99 for the mens style and $16.99 for the ladies. VGDJ isn't a business; it's just a way to further promote OCR.

Wingless' official VGDJ T-Shirt logo has been posted at www.VGDJ.net! There's a men's style, too, of course, and the back has our URL. See? See what you'll win if you get 1st, 2nd, *or* 3rd prize in our intro contest? Submissions are due Wednesday, March 15th by noon!

OMG HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Do you like Myst? Here, I made you this cake... We'll be sure to mention both of your birthdays on the show. Although, Danny, your donations wouldn't come until *after* the 11th since the next episode is for the 13th...

Your link doesn't work, Myth! EDIT: Ah-ha, it's because you had four w's in the URL. Anyway, !
-
Oh my goodness... That is amazing. I love the way you use my background uh's and aw's from 0:10-0:16 and again from 0:48-1:04 so percussively. It makes me sound kind of retarded, lol. "Too much pressurrrrreee," "Oh, hush you," "Here goes the die," and the giggles- oh, the giggles... Man, I never knew I could sound like such a spaz! Thanks, seph! It is an honor.

Anything you send us should go to vgdjpodcast@gmail.com. But just out of curiosity, by "voice submission," do you mean for the intro contest? Or a voicemail you want us to play at the end of the show?
-
ROFL! Wow, that kicks ass. I don't think I missheard what you read off, though; listen again. You definitely went straight into the digamejh thing after the /, and you also said the 0 in g0 as "o." But hey, I'm pretty sure I messed up a bit when I read off that long URL in episode 032, so call it even.
-
You didn't say the "~" symbol when you read it off in our voicemail! But that new link still doesn't work....
-
T_T I've had the show ready and edited since last night. We're waiting on something special from Wingless. I *could* release it now, but it would lessen the impact of stuff we said on the show. EDIT: Alrighty, here goes... VGDJ Episode 033 has been released on WWW.VGDJ.NET! Sorry about the lackage of our visible t-shirt logo. We figured that it'd be better to wait a few more days if that's what it takes to release something totally sweet. So keep checking www.vgdj.net for updates on the design, and get started on your intro submissions! ^_~ P.S. VOTE!

Hey guys, just a heads up: the show probably won't be released at our usual around-Sunday-at-midnight-time tonight, but it'll still be out sometime Monday! Wingless and I have both had a very busy few days, and this week's ep is not only quite beefy, but we have a special surprise in the works.
-
Thanks everybodyyyy. And was that you who called in a little before 7? Somebody did, but they didn't say their name in the message.
-
20 years young. And thanks, guys.

Tomorrow, March 4th.

Well, for all that recording early was worth, looks like I'm still gonna be editing the next show on my birthday... T_T Damn you, school.

Milky Way Wishes: A Kirby Super Star Tribute - History
Jillian Aversa replied to Arek the Absolute's topic in Projects
Why does the thread title say "Kirky"? Anyway, I think Roe and I's collab dissolved a while ago, so you can take my name off the list. -
Beautiful, simply beautiful. If this is how John sees making love, well... Dang, boy! Coincidentally, this mix was posted WHILE we were recording for the next episode of VGDJ, hehe. Tune in if you're interested in hearing an inside view from The Wingless himself. EDIT: Also, I thought the ending of this piece was incredible. I couldn't imagine it any other way.

OCR01458 - Chrono Trigger "The Place We Knew"
Jillian Aversa replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
That's because it was. We didn't intend it to be an experimental remix. Looks live you haven't been around very long on the boards, so I don't know how much music on this site you've heard, but there's a slew of other performance-oriented mixes here. Not everything has to include computer elements, or be written for a full band etc. Still, if you liked Dragon Song (which happens to be one of my personal favorites on the site as well), you might want to try FF10 'Journey's End', another mix I sang for in a different sort of setting. I can't say that my Japanese was flawless, but I have been studying it for quite some time now (first at Boston University and now at Johns Hopkins), and performed in Japan last summer. I'm very particular about accents as well, as a classical vocalist and lover of languages, so I'm a little surprised you thought it sounded unnatural. My teachers here actually went out of their way to compliment the accuracy of my accent, in speech *and* in music, and they are usually quite strict. Perhaps some of the unnaturalness you're hearing has to do with the recording constraints. Reuben originally wrote this piece for solo piano, which is why the melody is doubled throughout the song. It was challenging to then *add* my voice on top of what he had already recorded, because normally the pianist follows the singer in performance, not vice versa. I had to basically memorize the places he stretched time. Of course, I'll never sound like a Japanese-born person, but I think this is about as close as you get for a foreigner. (That being said, I'll never stop striving to improve. ^_~) For all those who felt the Japanese was awkward for artistic reasons, I actually have to somewhat agree. As much as I love the language, switching back and forth from English was a little strange, especially since the text means the same thing in both languages. Still, it's Claado Shou's project, and he thought it would be a nice approach for the final track, since a lot of movies end with bilingual pop ballads. It was also meant as a sort of tribute to the original composers. Anyway, thanks for the feedback, everybody! -
He hasn't said anything about episode #032 thus far, so maybe he's laying low for a while. Anyway, I think we shouldn't discuss this in the thread anymore; that post was something you could have PM'ed me. Feel free to do so if you want. Arcana: Only one remix review + short show = excessive banter. It won't usually be that bad, hehe. I know I told ya that on AIM last night, but just in case other people reading were wondering.
