Alright new rumors (not confirmation because it is still from a blog of the leaked information of the party). Its been "comfirmed" they are working on a ???IV DS. It is very highly probably it is FFIV DS remake in the vain of FFIII. The blog that broke the news: http://ff13vids.jugem.jp/ Stated it was FFIV DS 3d remake. But on Neo GAF: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=154405 It was said that those initials were a mistake by a mod. And so people speculated on DQIV but it seems in the end it is FFIV. No other news. Also FFXII International (but who isn't surprised at this announcement). -

Yea too bad that was a April Fools joke (though you never know these days...) Anyway according ot this blog ( http://ff13vids.jugem.jp/ and thanks to a translation on Neo GAF) - Final Fantasy series characters battle on a 3D field. The genre is fighting competition action (?). - The gods Cosmos and Chaos called on the heroes of light and dark - Warrior of light from FF1, Zidane from FF9 will participate - Garland and Kuja are also confirmed - Character designs by Nomura. This sounds interesting...kinda heh -

I agree, I am getting tired of all these freakin spin offs that are mediocre to bad. I am getting tired of them remaking FFI and II heh. I'm ok with them sticking to RPGs since everything else they try to do ends up in failure (Dirge of Cerberus, Musashi the new one, etc.) I do wish they would branch out and take some risks. At least they are doing a new IP. -
Alright. Time has come for SE's countdown to their biggest announcements of the year. So whats in store? New Final Final Fantasies (Remakes, Spinoffs and Original), new trailers and info for current projects, Kingdom Hearts updates and much more. So far they have announced: The Last Remnant (360 and/or Ps3): A new IP shown exclusively on the new Game Informer. It sounds awesome and should be interesting seeing them develop the game with both japanese and US audiences in mind. Also their first Unreal Engine 3 project (so its 360 and/or Ps3) http://www.siliconera.com/index.php/2007/05/07/new-square-enix-rpg-the-last-remnant/ Screen1 Screen2 Screen3 screens from xboxyde and game life Final Fantasy: Dissidia (PSP): - Final Fantasy series characters battle on a 3D field. The genre is fighting competition action. - Will have characters from past FF (FFI Light Warriors, Zidane, Garland, Kuja confirmed so far). http://www.square-enix.co.jp/dissidia/ Shonen Jump Scan FFD Final Fantasy IV (DS): -A 3D remake from the development team that worked on FF3. Shonen Jump Scan FFIV Final Fantasy XII: International Zodiac Job System (Ps2): -Comes out August 9th at a price of 6800Yen -Apperantly from web site translators (Babel Fish >.>) the license board can be customized with one of 12 different job types or something of the sort. -Might be dual language or using American voices like KH: Final Mix (I forgot if FFX and X-2 had american dubbing as well). Shonen Jump Scan FFXIII: IZJS Chocobo Mystery Dungeon (Wii): -no info Star Ocean 2 and 2 (PSP): -2D remake Screen1 Screen2 Famitsu screenshots Star Ocean 4 (Not Specified yet): -SE and Tri-Ace shown on the slide Parasite Eve 3 (Mobile): -nothing yet FFXI: Crusaders of Altana (rough translation) (PC, Ps2, 360): -new expansion At the party new trailers for FF:CC both DS and Wii, FFXIII, Versus XIII, All new announcements, and more to come! Well more announcements are expected and as they come I shall update this page with links and maybe pics. Right now I am excited more so to see new trailers for pojects I want to come out already (FFT: A2, FFCC: Rings of Fate, FFXIII, DQIX, DQ Swords, Its a Wonderful World and all the others). Supposively the future of KH will be discussed and rumors of Star Ocean announcements are bound. PSP according to EGM is suppose to get much more SE love with remakes and spin offs. I wanna see more Wii games from them. According to Square they said Wii fans will be very satisfied this coming Saturday. So discuss, speculate and lets have fun (and lots of flames )! . .. ... .... ..... I'm now being told to retract the flame statement and say lets have a nice civilized discussion heh.

SE has already stated they aren't gonna support just one console. 360 already has FFXI, and it will also be the house of the new FF MMO in the works. FFXIII spinoff 360 is pretty much a given as well. Possible Kingdom Hearts project, heck even the possability of having the real XIII ported. DS for sure will get its own XIII spin off, Wii not too confident.

Final Fantasy Tactics - The Lion War (PSP)
NeoForte replied to Hawkwing's topic in General Discussion
I believe it was revealed before that Balthier will have an important part in the story. I dunno about FuSo (main character of FFTA2 that is also appearing in FFT PSP). Anyway this game got reviewed by Dengeki PS: 80/85/90/70 = 325/400 Not bad score so it will be awesome. Still wanna see what Famitsu says about it. -
Just got it today. I love the X-plorer a lot more than the Ps2 guitars. I also like the added detail and lighting effects of this game. They really put a lot of effort into it. Also from what I heard this Guitar is compatible with Rock Band so woot! I wish this had online co-op though :/ don't think anyone near me has another guitar to play.
-
Yea....I hope they pull this off well. I love Guitar Hero. I'll be the bass if any band needs me lol

This expansion makes me excited to play Oblivion again (I didn't enjoy the original as much as other people though). But there so much more interesting stuff on here I might just play again. PS OverCoat your sig is awesome

Funny thing is, Mog in the concept art is relaxing in a chair with a class of some wine (or grape jiuce for you kids ) hehe. Here it is:

That maybe so but I still stand by my statement that this game is as challenging as the original was. I just fought Giantuar and he kicked my ass 5 times before I even killed it (and even then the battle was pretty long and only one person survived the 10000 Needle barrage at the end). In the original I remember some tough enemies. But I also didn't pimp out my characters with economizers, offerings and stuff. I just kept it how I got things and thats about it. Only thing now is I am using Celes, Shadow, Relm and Mog as my mains instead of Terra, Locke, Edgar and Sabin from my old SNES file. I honeslty didn't run into problems until the last dungeon. Still have a bit more stuff to do before I attempt it but I'll report back what went on when I do.

Character growth? In a Megaman game?! LOL Hehe j/k Yea I get what ya talking about. ZX was a great successor to the Zero series and its nice to see the Old series start to connect with Legends. Seeing the track record of Inti Creates with the Zero series I am confident they will take what made this game good and make it even better. I'm kinda interested in seeing how these new protagonists play out. I thought Vent/Aile were ok. Kinda nice seeing both new guy/gal getting separate storylines (hopefully they are actually 2 different people in the same world. Not like Vent/Aile being the same person per say). What I want fixed? Better uses for BioMetals than, "Hey...why bother with Fx, Px, or Lx (when not around Ice, Dark Areas, and Water). Zx, Ox and Hx are better anyway". A Map system making more sense. How about actually either dubbing the whole damn game or not bothering and just leave all the Japanese voice dialog >.> I swear CoA does the most bizarre localizations sometimes. Either fully localize it or just leave it alone. I'm still stumped why they took out all the Japanese voices but they leave the anime movies in Japanese with subs. Thats about it...ROCK ON!! *flies away*

FFIII DS for me was not too easy but not hard as hell either. I had complications with the final boss many a times but its cause I forgot to do something so I wouldn't take a lot of damage. Though leveling up was a bit more tedious in the DS one since battles took just a bit longer than the NES one.
-
Hmmm I dunno. From what I can remember the difficulty of this and the original seem about the same. Mostly in the old game I only died from my own stupidity or just bad luck (or I didn't know what the **** I was doing). Same has happened here (except I now know what to do....mostly). Also they did fix the evasion bug so maybe that made some battles easier. FFV the Original I beat around the same as the Advance one. Heck even Omega. FFV is a really easy game at the end. Except for Omega (before you learn his tricks) and Shinryu *shrugs* I haven't gone thru the extra stuff since I wanted to master all the jobs before hand (gave up after mastering a ton of jobs but died losing all progress...I hate the Cleft of Dimensions). BTW I bet both versions around Lv38-40. Also past experience, knowing what needs to be done and how to do it can also make the game quicker and easier. Funny thing about FFI and II Advance, the bosses all have more HP and higher stats but the game mechanics were made easier (mainly EXP gain and stats). And the kids thing might be true, but these ports were done for those that played the game before.

Since no one has said it... OPERA SCENE KICKS SO MUCH MORE ASS!!!! Thank you and good night

Yea, I tried playing it a few months ago, got to near halfway thru but new games distracted me and I stopped. Since I have a small room its kinda hassle to find space for all my consoles (even connecting them). I have the Original game within 2 feet of me. Also could ROM it but meh, I wanted to see how well or bad they ported the game to the GBA, cause I greatly enjoyed FFV Advance. Like I said before I am really satisfied eith this game. Plus portability is a great thing for me in my commute to school (takes at the most 2 hours or so thru connections in public transportation).

Isn't it called Libra now?

Wow, I expected more FFVI Advance love So far I'm finding this to be the better version of the game. Yea I have the nostalgia of the old script, but honestly the game kinda needed the update. At least they worked around the old script so it still is familiar. Also now things between all the FF are pretty consistent (enemies with correct names, Espers with their original names, items called what they should be). Battle so far I haven't noticed much of a difference. Only somewhat noticeable (but far from makes it unplayable) slow downs are with some spell effects, Autocross bow (shoots kinda sluggish compared to the original) and small bits of lag in some towns or very cluttered areas. But honestly it doesn't bother me nor does it ruin the gameplay. Music yea took a hit, well many hits. But its also improved in other areas. With smoke's research GBA should be able to play the songs normally but mostly what is know is the sound hardware is hard to produce that quality of sound. Also the speaker isn't the best in the world. But anyway, Music for GBA is pretty both faithful and good. Some songs, like the battle themes, were changed dramatically but not towards a good light. Others have hardly not much noticeable change to the untrained ear. Some are changed noticeably but better (Opera songs IMO fall under here). Like FFV Advance, I believe IMO that this is the superior version (not by a lot, unlike FFV) as the SNES version needed a bit of polish now and the Psx version just sucked. So my vertict, if you love this game and are on the go a lot (or even a little its a nice game to play in bursts) get it. I still recommend it to those that aren't on the go just to see the small but kinda cool extras. But if your too picky about the music or messing with the original script....yea I'd think about it hard.
-
Yes there are no save points in any dungeon. Last save spot is area before entering The Crystal Tower. And yea you die you loss hours of playtime, I've died twice to the damn last boss...

It's more like a not-so-glorified IM service. You can only send one message an hour' date=' which I don't think is a terrible idea if they want to make it feel like some sort of mail system within some fantasy game and not just some in-game chat. But at the same time, as already pointed out, writing messages is extremely tedious. They didn't do a good job with it at all. And that is all the wi-fi is for. Otherwise, I am still very much loving the game! I have to admit to feeling jaded on a lot of modern rpgs, and right now this is a great blend of the classic rpg style with a few more modern aesthetics. Being able to do everything with just the touch screen is very nice, just tapping on characters to talk, etc. And it doesn't feel like they favored one method of control over the other, so control-wise the game is tight. If you get tired with the stylus, no problem, just play it normally with the buttons. They didn't make this game easy, which I am happy about. As a port/remake, I find it much more rewarding than the GBA and ps1 ports we've all seen already. [/quote'] Mognet is the only way to obtain the all crappy then all powerful Onion Knight job. As well as people with MASTERED jobs (Lv99) when they send you mail (and when you obtain the quest), you can obtain all new Ultimate Weapons. Also open up mini dungeon to fight a tough optional boss. So an RPG which allows me to go off into my own little world and not have to communicate with humans requires me to communicate with humans in order to unlock everything? WHAT THE FUCK?! I want a game console that's all about keeping people apart, disconnected, and seperated from one another. I don't see how its that much a problem. All the items gotten thru Mognet are just bonuses that were never in the Original (with the exception of Onion Knight). And Honestly its not that big of a hassle or task to send someone a simple letter. If you don't want to communicate, just don't use it. The main game is the focus, not this. You'll get all you need just playing the main game. Anyway damn Castlevania taking my FFIII time. I wanna master my jobs already ><

Did you check your WiFi settings thru the game? If not then weird...

Well I just got the last jobs a while ago (got Onion Knight last night). Magus and Devout in the NES had those 40+ charges for Lv1 spells but for this game all their spells are balanced out. Word of advise, unless you want to wear the best armor and use the best weapons, don't go Ninja. In the NES, Ninja could wear all armor and weapons so they were the overpowered melee job (Sage being the overpowered Mage job since it could use any of the magics at full force, even summons). To balance it out ninja can't wear the best armor, and only weapons they can use are Dark Swords and Ranged weapons (Boomerang + Chakram). Kinda makes sense though, a Ninja shouldn't be wearing Knight armor and be wielding Excalibur + Ragnorok. My team is: Dragoon Summoner Black Belt Devout/Sage I'm still iffy about Devout and Sage cause Ingus as a Devout looks....kinda gay. He wears a pink shirt, with bright red shoes and has a hoodie with cat ears. Although its off its still kinda meh. I'm seeing how good a Sage can be at healing (since it sucks with Summons) and if its good I'm sticking with it.
