  1. Now I must admit I haven't read through everything but I'm pretty sure Uematsu took some TV-commercial and did like.. prelude or something like that and a bigger thing: who cares? In the 16th and 17th century borrowing was considered standard and it wasn't until the mid-18th century (romanticism) that individuality became a GOOD thing.
  2. Same auther as the Dee Jay stage track you loved oh-so-much and one of the best and most hard-working arrangers on this OST In other news, I'm happy no one actually finishes arcade mode and craps on my song hahaha
  3. or Swedish mafia? bikergangs? We're not saints y'know
  4. So THAT's what swedish fish are :/ I've been wondering a long time because everyone keeps pestering me about it
  5. My computer can't handle playing my track without crashing because of a battery issue I have. Worst case scenario you'll get the latest version. That one's quite good anyway. I'm hoping to go get a new battery around christmas so hopefully it'll all work out but.. well, THE MORE YOU KNOW!
  6. Actually the tracks are posted in "Latest Remixes" because they've just been posted on OCR, not because they appear on a recently released album. We might post album-tracks that HAS BEEN SUBMITTED to OCR to pimp a new album but first and foremost it's because they are new remixes in the OCR library. Also, first, all three tracks on the frontpage from SF2 aren't on the album. Second, not all album tracks can be posted on OCR because of various reasons (arrangement being one) so you won't see the entire album there. The right hand column DOES only show newly added remixes to OCR and removing remixes from that just because they ALSO appear on an album wouldn't be fair nor a good idea. Pretty much In other news I get an error when searching for "josé" in the "remixer" box, probably because of the é
  7. I have numerous DVD-boxes of those series, anyone who craps on them is a bad person. If this was a bit more 90s I could probably like it btw
  8. Thanks a lot man, I'll get back to you on this one..
  9. Toughie this one. I see how you try to pass off the vocals as an arrangement of the main bell pattern but it seems a bit too farfetch'd to me. Palpable's breakdown is where I can hear source so I have to agree with him about the arrangement. This is a very cool track but man, you could've put a LOT more source in there.. You know our standards by now and you could've pulled it off with relative ease I'm sure. Production is quite good. The issues mentioned were some I took as minor. The vocals worked but could've been just a little less dry. Also minor but something to think about is some additional separation, I thought that the strings especially took up a LOT of space. The arrangement's definitely holding this back. It's a great track but nobody could listen to this and go "oh hell, cool arrangement of 'This isn't the time'"! Sorry man :/ NO
  10. I'm with Jesse on this one. The piano is very rigid. Some notes seem odd and could probably be changed (or at least not accented as much while playing/sequencing) to make it sound better overall. You have to work on humanizing this some more. The production wasn't bad. Piano was a bit clicky but not the worst sample I've heard. The ocean FX are too loud compared to the quiet piano and having them go during almost all the track is probably a bad move since they take a lot of attention from the piano. Arrangement is fairly conservative but you've got some good ideas. The odd note choices, as I mentioned, could definitely be re-written but overall you seem to have the right idea. You just have to get the execution up to par. NO(resubmit)
  11. http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=321216 - PIMPAGE! "Once your eyes have adjusted to the new Street Fighter flair, you start getting a kick out of the remixed theme tunes. Every Street Fighter fan has a favourite, and having brought on Udon for the visuals, Capcom in its wisdom signed up OverClocked ReMix to handle the audio. What OCR has done with the classic Ryu, Guile and Ken beats, again, remains true to the original material, but injects a thumping modern feel that has your heart racing all the way to that fierce Shoryuken finish. Special mention has to go to Fei Long's new R&B stage theme, which had us returning to the Bruce Lee wannabe's home for the tune alone." - http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=320158
  12. Larry, fix frontpage link and make it so that people see the soundtrack! Otherwise, fantastic job everyone! I especially enjoyed the shorter jingles by Malcos, Palpable's character select tune and obviously Sagat's Moonbike.
  13. and push start during arcade so you can hear one out of two FANTASTITACULAR remixes I did :3
  14. Some noticable clicks and pops during the intro. Guitar-tone is ugly imo, sounds thin and harsh like wasp.. The guitar cuts off abruptly after it has played the arpeggios, like it was gated and that sounds kind of unnatural. The synths also end up sounding a bit hollow and on the simple side. Drums sounded okay but overall the soundscape is really sparse. Some interesting and quite challenging harmonies when the guitar plays the source arpeggios. Many sound quite off, some sound okay. When the drums enter the harmonies end up sounding completely wrong though.. They doesn't make any sense and end up feeling like a different song played in the background. The guitar playing is quite good but the out-of-place backing track and strange guitar sound (is it a square-wave with distortion?) puts the listener off. When the saw enters the soundscape gets a bit fuller but the arrangement still sounds aimless and thin. It's essentially just one chord here. The arrangement never goes past "original backing + source melody" and with such a weak backing I don't think that's a good approach. Overall this lacks a sense of coherence and real developement of the source. The soundscape is on the empty side and processing is questionable. Hang around the WIP-forums or the #ocrwip irc channel for some good real-time feedback. You've got some good ideas so you might as well learn how to get the execution up to par! Good luck in the future! NO
  15. Actually don't, the real deals comes from gaming forums! I got Vib Ribbon from loading.se and I'm also buying Legend of Dragoon + Wild Arms in mint condition for 750kr total Tradera prices always go wild, ebay.co.uk is okay but shipping can be a bitch. Overall forums and private sellers are your best choice if you're sure you won't be hustled. In other news: Dangun Feveron makes me happy in pants even though I suck at it.
  16. No you don't, you want to be me! It was like 300kr
  17. A rejected work of epic proportions. Welcome back to the world of us mortals Dave Fantastic tune though, loving this.
  18. Reproducing the soundtrack by ear gives a good base for remixing but it's hard and tedious. Recording the track you want to remix by standing in the same place and plugging your headphone jack into your computer as a solid option. If there are audio options, turn SFX down! Good luck, love seeing obscure stuff getting love
  19. Seems you're right, I found a few auctions for the PAL-version. Wikipedia doesn't mention it and that's why I was a bit puzzled. Thanks coop. Good, I'll up my bid for RayStorm then! Also, I should buy RayCrisis when I'm on it, eBay here I come! Can't belive these games came out in PAL-country O.O Almost as strange as the feeling I got when Vib Ribbon arrived in the mail today haha
  20. This is why I urge you to link to high-res files of all the cool designs you come up with so I can steal them and at least put them on a t-shirt just for me.
  21. Then I've been missinformed! I've always thought RIII was ported to PSX :/ blergh. Too bad the snes version wasn't released in pal-country but that also means it's one title less that I need to get. Just found RayStorm (Taito) for PSX, anyone heard anything about it? I'm pretty sure I'll take home that auction anyway but it would be fun if it kicks ass.
