  1. Massachusetts. postwhore thread woooo
  2. Yeah you're gonna have to present quite an argument to convince me that a character doesn't "fit", atma. I think Snake already proved that they can come up with a moveset for just about anybody and make it work. I personally don't care about Megaman, but I don't see how his inclusion would cause any harm. Also thanks for the clarification, #Az. Kinda figured this thread would have grown by like 20 pages since yesterday if it was true.
  3. So I was in a Gamestop today, and I overheard two employees talking about a Brawl demo that is supposedly coming out with the latest issue of Nintendo Power. I asked them if they were gonna be selling the issue, but they said the demo only goes to subscribers. Nintendo doesn't often release demos though, so this seems a little wierd. Were they just trying to fuck with me or something? Anyone hear about this?
  4. So it's a movie introducing a mode...that we've already been introduced to. Hooray for scraping the bottom of the barrel, eh?
  5. Uh, what about Metal Gear? Or was that just stealth without the combat action part.
  6. Yeah he definitely needs the mullet. This calls for an INTERNET PETITION.
  7. So I guess Dedede can also inhale?
  8. Whoa whoa whoa whoa WHOA. No friend codes? I didn't think Nintendo would even allow that. This gives a lot of hope for generally improved online play on the Wii. Thanks for the info.
  9. I mostly like this item because it's reminiscent of various shoot-stuff-at-teammates-but-actually-help-them moves in Phantom Dust. Which is an awesome game that no one has heard of. With normal recovery items the person who's closest to it when it appears gets it (and seeing someone undo all the damage I caused instantly just because they got lucky and a heart container appeared right next to them SUCKS). With this you have to actually do stuff to recover. Stuff that could actually be preventable. So yeah the more I think about it the more I like it. Still shouldn't be used outside casual play though.
  10. I'm not a big fan of recovery items. But I can see this being kinda cool for team battles. Non-serious ones, of course.
  11. I never said moving stages are bad. But after the WHOA THIS STAGE IS MOVING effect wears off you just end up having to fight the stage more than your opponents and it gets annoying. Go into your records and I guarantee your most played stages will not be pokefloats, or big blue, or flat zone, or rainbow cruise, or icicle mountain. The queen should periodically attack with its huge beam thingy instead (kind of like Lugia's attack but not insta-death). Then you would have a cool hazard that's true to the game but isn't too intrusive. IMO.
  12. Seriously. I don't recall the frigate ever randomly flipping in MP. Dynamic stages are all good and well, but not when they don't make any goddamn sense. Plus, with the exception of Pokemon Stadium and maybe Mute City, did anyone actually play any of Melee's moving/changing stages on a regular basis? Cause I sure as hell didn't. Normal MP stage plz.
  13. Ok now you're just trolling. Come on now.
  14. uh I'm pretty sure the whole point is to just get to 1000 pages not to actually care what's on it or if it sticks around. 52
  15. User-friendliness is nice and all, but do we really need huge multicolored buttons for everything? YES I KNOW THIS DOESN'T MATTER 76
  16. Agreed, and I think another advantage of ranks is that seeing your rank rise creates a sense of accomplishment in playing online. A shallow and largely false sense of accomplishment, yes, but it still serves to keep more people interested in online play. I'll admit that I have tried to keep my rank at least decent in some other online games.
  17. Huh. I guess it's a pretty good idea. Kinda unnecessary, but hey, if they got the disk space for it why the hell not.
  18. That was actually pretty good. Wasn't laughing out loud the whole time or anything, but it was entertaining. Also I always agreed atma, it's just this last update that drove the shitiness levels through the roof.
  19. We don't know yet whether you have any options in friends games, except that you can do 2-4 player matches. It has rooms, but I don't see any 'options' button anywhere. When doing With Anyone, you should be able to make a lobby with yourself or with some friends, then be able to do matchmaking for timed, stock, team, item settings, giant melee, fixed camera, whatever. That way they could still keep their stupid anonymous bullshit while giving us some freedom. Or they could just do the traditional style where there's a list of rooms to join, each with a host who chooses all the settings. Either way would be a whole lot better than what we have now. Also CPUs replacing players that drop out is an alright idea. It's just the fact that it doesn't tell you when they drop that pisses me off. Why Nintendo needs to needlessly hold information, I don't know.
  20. What if they forced you to only play timed 4 player matches in offline games? Would you just say "don't play multiplayer"? If you don't like something, should you force yourself to be just indifferent to it? Brawl is a game that is focused on multiplayer, and is Nintendo's highest profile release so far for the Wii. Atma's already said it, but for some reason Nintendo's the only one that can get away with this shit. Since the original SSB has been all about variety, options, and customization. I don't see why their online mode should be any different.
  21. Wow. WOW this is so fucking gay. 4 player matches only? Time only? YOU CAN'T EVEN TELL WHEN SOMEONE DROPS? Fucking Nintendo.
  22. After June? Seriously? That's terrible. It's possible there's a reason that localization would take so long, but still. That sucks. I hope this doesn't mean anything for the North American release.
  23. Oh, it's not that I think a pity smash can turn around a game or anything. The person using it will still probably lose, but it's just really lame to hand the loser a super-powerful attack just for the sake of slightly reducing the amount they'll lose by. Also I could see it getting annoying in 4 player matches. No big deal though. Of course you can turn them off. I just hope there's separate on/off toggles for smash balls and pity smashes.
  24. Yeah it's pretty much retarded when a game tries to artificially make a match closer than it should be. He doesn't say anything about being able to adjust the frequencies of smash balls and pity smashes independently. Hope you can.
  25. Eww, elastic band effect. Do not like.
