So on the topic of nether portals, I have one outside my castle that's been there for months. I went through it today, got some glowstone, warped back through the same portal.... and ended up, literally, halfway around the world in somewhere I recognized not at all. Is that normal?

Indeed. And as a gamer that's MMO'd since EQ, I still base my comparisons based on the original feel of EQ pre-Planes of Power days. Man, them were good days. /end nostalgia Anyways, here's to hoping it's not a carbon copy clone of WoW... yet, the way the market is right now, almost all MMO's are. Guess I'm wishing for something that might not exist yet, eh?

Bump. I know there's a few trying rift out (I'm one of them). I think Capa is too. I'll post my impressions once I get done patching and log in. I'm basically looking for something 'new' in the sense of 'it's not WoW but it's an MMO'.

You raise a good point. I think I'm going to try to get her to play first, and only if she likes it, build the proposal. Still wracking my ideas on how to propose though. I really want to come up with something unique and special that she'll remember for all of eternity. Minecraft is indeed, one option of many. However, if it'd be the first proposal of marriage in Minecraft, it might pose some notoriety.

*laughing* if that's what you want to do, maybe I'll keep the location a secret. Then I'll show her the dickobelisk as a "this is what the people I play with do in their spare time..." gag. And if and when I confirm that I'm doing this thing, ya'll are welcome to help if you want. I just have to decide if this is how I want to do it.

Spiders are now my number one hated enemy. They climbed over my cactus-wall of mob-protection and proceded to kick the shit out of me in single player. The old methods of mob protection no longer work vs. spiders. I'm thinking we may have to go so far as to have a double-wide lava moat to defend vs. spiders. Seriously, annoying!

I think we can wait until the live editor is ported into Bukkit. I look forward to building a self-transit system to my new mine. As for the client reversion, I'm playing on single player to get aquainted with the changes. Just throwing ideas out there. I'd love to keep working on our transit system.
