  1. Iji. There's a thread about it somewhere. Very well done freeware shooter with an extremely well done combat system.
  2. This actually has a really good chance of happening in the next 10 years... ... ...
  3. OCR 4 Evar! One of the best sites on the net (imo) and with some of the best people out there. Here's to continued success!
  4. Pretty darn slick. I liked the in your face spur of the moment intro!
  5. Zircon, nicely said. Tensei, I understand much better now why you said what you said, after Zircon put it so clearly. Sorry for my mini-rant earlier (if you took offense to it).
  6. I have to reply to this because I'm more than likely the lowest APM that plays with an OCR tag at the moment. You bring up some good points, that I think are totally valid, Tensei. Lane Dancing, Animation Cancelling. However, these in my mind are advanced tactics that someone new to the game shouldn't be held to pulling off. I personally can't pull the cancelling off (at all) yet, and I have room to improve on lane dancing. It's something that I'll eventually get. >>High APM giving you better concentration<< I think that depends on the person. For me, the extra clicking seems pointless at my skill level. If I wanted to play professionally, sure, I can see that my APM would need to be sky high to compete. Using myself as an example: there are somethings that I feel comfortable with, and some I don't. Do I need to improve? Yes. Am I good with certain heroes? Yes. Do I have high APM? No. Do I *need* high APM for the level of play that I enjoy (e.g. playing with other OCR people)? Doubtful - when I'm not sick, and at the top of my game, my maximum APM is around 50. With the level of play I enjoy, I probably won't go beyond that. As for "full potential", again that varies on your point of view. If you want to play at a competitive level, don't complain when you're playing in-house friendly games. If you want to play in in-house games, you shouldn't complain when you're in a competitive game and people yell at you for your low APM. The expectations of your teammates should match the level of play you're in for that particular game. I don't complain when I suck ass in in-house games, because they're just for fun and I'm doing my best to learn the game. I take no offense if we're playing competitively and I'm the only reason we lost. I am offended, however, when people complain about low APM in an in-house game (which unless said in advance, I'm assuming are training and for fun), and I had to walk away from my computer the other day because of a situation similar to this, because I felt the comments made tward me were not in line with the expectation of the game being played at the time. I'm not upset now (obviously), but I do have a different opinion on APM.
  7. I have to quote the above. Where are you, Disco Dan? This is one of my most prized OCRemixes that I have on my computer. It goes from Chill to UltraChill. Its splendid. A near perfect mix that takes a source theme and layers a soundscape the likes of which most of us only dream to attain at some point. This mix isn't repetitive at all (it could be), and brings a unique feeling every time you listen to it. Fantastic Job, wherever you are, Disco Dan!
  8. The bombast and flare of this song, turning a suspenseful tune of worry and fret into hyped-up symphonic bliss keep me coming back time after time. Even the slower parts of this song just give off a hyped up, edge of your seat with worry feeling. Another song I can't get enough of. The strings totally make this ReMix worth it.
  9. I've been a fan of this mix ever since it was posted. I have to agree with some of the constructive criticism so-far, in that the transition from Sealed Door into Prelude seemed kinda tacked on and less than it could have been. The oohs and ahhs as Prelude slowly segues back into Sealed Door though, heh, that sends shivers down my spine. It's a sound scape of mystery, flowing into hope, and being reminded that there's always a sequel and another challenge to overcome, another mystery to solve. I just love the sound scape of this song, and the instrument selection is top notch.
  10. Ahh, this ReMix is another one of my favorites. Starts out nice and mellow, piano and the plucked beat. Flute/strings slowly come in, and up until 1:12 or so is just quintessentially delicate. Then it starts building until around 1:43, and double takes you into Schala's theme, which when I first heard it, was a totally unexpected direction. The transition into it though, is perfect. I wish I could remix with 5% of this skill. The switch back to Chrono's theme at 2:30 ups the pace of the remix, and adds some fire to it. Deftly done. The wrapup starting at 3:02 brings it home and finishes with a chorus of hope, or so I feel it to be. It's a feel good, happy, goin places remix that has to be one of my favorites.
  11. What else can be said about this track that hasn't been already? Like many others, it's one of the first that really hooked me on OCR. I stumbled across the site in 2002 from napster, I think (looking for final fantasy vocal remixes, srsly), and this was pure bliss back then. Took me 3 years to register on the forums, and another 4 before posting semi-regularly at all. But this song is one of two or three that I can point to and say "this started it all for me". The high end has to come down just a little bit when I crank it on my car stereo (for reasons previously noted by others), but this thing just grooves so well, I can't stop but play it. One of my personal top 20 remixes on this site (and no, I'm not listing them ). It's just that good. If you've never heard it... stop. Right now. Stop. Download it. Stop. Listen to it. Stop. And enjoy.
  12. Mario 1-2 theme + Tetris "C" theme. Wheeee...
  13. Saw this this morning, I think it's neat. Doctor who theme: Zelda:
  14. This. Having cling decals that can be stuck and removed with ease for OCR would be fantastic. I'd get one in a heartbeat. That and if they'd ever get the 3xL Hoodies back in stock... <3
  15. I've been on quite a bit trying to learn. Read: I don't feed anymore (most of the time), and i keep a 1:1 KDR 80% of the time
  16. Bandwagon: meet jump: http://raptr.com/JadeAuto
  17. Two hours until release. Who else is staying up to play a campaign tonight?
  18. Sure, I'd like to give it a twirl. steam: jadeauto
  19. The original Japanese song sounds fitting for a Final Fantasy game. This is because over the last 15 years, Square* has accustomed us to hearing Japanese songs in their games, or at the very least, Japanese composed themes, which invariably have different melodic qualities than American composed themes. The R&B song, however, is totally Urban America in sound, and... ugh. I totally dislike this new direction. I give Square* credit for trying something new, and this may definitely give them a larger audience in certain circles - it's going to alienate many of their Core fans. I'm one of them. I haven't really been able to stand a Square* game since FFX. I suppose their style changed too much for my appreciation to follow.
  20. Descent 2 Descent 3 OMG that'd be fun as hell.
  21. Odd, I saw it for $20 at Walmart yesterday.
  22. trillian 4. /end hijack Stats are nothing more than a measurement. You shouldn't let them rule your life/have your babies/own your soul. My stats don't matter to me. What matters is having fun and winning now and then.
