someone upped me by 32k pts on casual, must retake. brb bah, will do this after work. hehe Edit 2: Improved on my prior 325k by 12k, up to 337k. I can see places where I'm missing cars to get the last 12,000 pre-bonus points in combos to make it through. There are three areas in this song where, if you skip one block, you can add 2-5 others that you'd otherwise combo low, as a high combo, and make 5-6k of those points. The other 5-6k I need is in the 15 blocks on the first steep downhill, and the 8-9 i miss in the final shinespark. I had approximately a 194k pre-points run just now, ruined by a grey block. (score to beat currently, pre bonus modifiers, is 203450. My last good clean run was 188000~)

Figured it out, and everything works perfectly now. I had to do what they call a "tape and tissue" mod. Voided the waranty to open the case, but there is a tiiiny little pressure switch that wasn't getting depressed fully when the lid was closed. Taped it down, and voila, everything works perfectly now.

It's not the lens. There's a little tab in the back, that tells the PS2 when the door is closed. Apparently the sensor's getting old/weak/whatever, as it's not reading the door as being closed. *Edit*: I know it's this tab-sensor thing, as when i squeeze on the PS2 slim right where it is, all of a sudden it starts reading the discs again. It refuses to read discs when it's not being gripped. Anyone know how to mod the case to remove this ugly requirement? everything else is working fine, as far as I can tell....

It's a slim. I've got some eyeglass cleaner, I'll give it a shot when I get home tonight. This falls under the "Duh, why didn't I think of that" catagory. One of those days.

Being without internet for awhile, I decided to fire my PS2 up and play some older stuff on it. However, it seems to be having issues reading discs (both PS1 and PS2 games). It'll load the games, but pause and take a LONG time to read the next bit of disc when the time comes. Sound effects occasionaly don't play, and timed sections in these games screw up royally (Guitar Hero, I'm looking at you...). Any ideas or suggestions as to what could be causing it, and how to fix it? (Indoor temp is around 62deg, 40% ambient moisture, sitting in a media cabinet on standby mode most of the time). Just an FYI, if you can, get me to game before Thursday - I'm moving this Friday and I'll be MIA for awhile. Even when I get internet back, it'll be sattelite, and I doubt I'll be able to play on that kind of latentcy. It's been fun, and I look forward to playing more when I return to civilization.

Played Tort last night. It was incredible with the buffed sac stone. The polywog ult change is nice. Madman is more balanced. Creep AI is definitely hard(er) for melee to compete against ranged. almost need melee in a lane with a ranged at any opportunity, especially if the opponent is FA or similar.

Might be fun to get to hang out with ya'll, names to faces, etc. I'm sure I could drive down from Sacramento for a few days. It's far enough out that I shouldn't have an issue getting the time off. Plus I have family in Phoenix and in Winslow, so you never know. I could take a week off and split it between places.
