  1. the piano is mixed sorta harshly, the upper octave in particular is a bit piercing during the louder melodic portions, such as 1:05. the bass is a little overpowering as well, and there's some noticeable distortion during 2:30-3:05ish section. good choice of source, i like the feel you have going and the glitchy drums are a nice touch. the arrangment is nice and full, but it does get a little repetitive. cool stuff, stick to it!
  2. the claps seem just a tad bit piercing to my ears when they're exposed at the beginning, but just slightly.. the new sax is smexeh and everything else sounds good. continue being awesome :3
  3. hahaha, not even a placeholder.. they're 100% just a joke. don't worry, you won't be hearing any crappy synthesized speech in the final version.
  4. you've got a lot of thick synths playing at once, and while it doesn't necessarily get extremely muddy, it is a little overcrowded, especially with all the delays going on. you've made some good expansions to the melody but the structure is pretty closely retained. you could try adding some counterpoint sections in there to balance out the source vs arrangement ratio a bit, as well as add some length.
  5. not picking up entirely on the source references, but in any other regard this is totally awesome. like gario mentioned, you might want to be a little more conservative with the rest of the track if you want to put it in the OCR lane. either way, this is a great start and i am excited to hear what direction you take it in edit: this
  6. the strings at the beginning seem a little thin and don't support the intro as much as they could. you could probably push the low freq's on those up a bit and maybe add some release or stereo spread to help fill out the space. agreeing with the others that the drums are a bit sparse at times and could use a little more punch. try layering in some more percussion, especially during the kick + snare sections. your synths and sequencing are pretty good. loving the distorted synth section at the end, though i think the drums could afford to be a little harsher and still sit quite nicely. conservative but good variations on the source. what you've got here needs a little polish, but it's a promising foundation, so keep it up!

  8. i love you guys for using the astral observatory theme <3 not crazy about the lyrics themselves, but as a whole this is pretty cool. great work!
  9. the degrading effect you mention is a combination of hi-pass filter, bitcrushing and stereo spread, all automated. it was very meticulous glad you enjoyed it!
