1. Considering that you are doing remixes from two versions of the game, you could always play on that effect as well. Example: DKC3: Two Worlds, Double the Trouble! Also, there's so much random chatter in here I can't even hear myself think!
2. Happy birthday to resident super-poster The Author, crazy TF2 Heavy Brushfire, and some other person named wildfire (are you related to Brushfire? are you his somewhat-younger CLONE?) Enjoy your day. Eat some cack.
3. "So (in my Opinion) make it more Heavier

Fix the main theme

and this remix need something else i dont know what"

THOSE were the exact words.

Also, h8 you. ::wink::

4. Happy 14th Birthday, NiGHTS! Here's your present: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=30083 Will integrate this into the OP later on this week.
5. Well well well, I can't believe that NiGHTS: Into Dreams is already 14 years old. This calls for a celebration! One year left until the Lucid Dreaming project is released, so I can think of no better gift than this. To commemorate NiGHTS's 14th birthday, a single FINALIZED track is being released from the Lucid Dreaming project, along with two pieces of art. The song that is being released is called Twin Seeds Flyby, which is my ReMix of the track "Growing Wings". It is but a taste of what you can expect from the project when it comes out next year. I have also made a small youtube video with some footage from the game and whatnot. Click the image below to download the MP3 of Twin Seeds Flyby: ] Click the image below to go see the youtube video: Please feel free to leave feedback, and we'll see you all next year when the project comes out.
6. Happy birthday, man. Bring back the fro-hair and more neck beard, and the shumkhats. Can't forget the shumkhats.
7. Along with Duck Tales - The Moon, the SMB theme song, and Zelda, this is one of those source tracks that immediately comes to my mind that embodies video game music. Once you hear Sewer Surfin', you're almost guaranteed to never forget it the rest of your life. And what Sixto and Zircon did here was give it absolute justice. The intro build is exactly as my dream remix of this would be, and the organs used throughout are beastly. It's a great balance in the mix between the show-stealing guitars and all the additional reinforcement. I especially enjoyed the solos, and Zircon's use of a synth lead that sounds suspiciously like a modernized version of the bass from Alleycat Blues is icing on the cake. Throughout, this song is just tops, and ridiculously awesome production. The only version I can think of that might rival it is Nase's Turtle Wank, but that's a different approach with different goals. Give me either mix on any day and I'll be happy as a clam. Or a turtle.
8. Yup, I'll use the latest ReMix for the template, unless the new tagging layout has not been implemented yet as such. If you want to, feel free to email me specifics. Edit: And here's the result. The typical tags have lots of metadata which seems only appropriate to put into the summary, leaving the artist, game, and song title to be the "name" of the item. I've done my best to logically put data in its place, but the Comment tag (with the whole submission letter) I have left out for the moment. fans.

<itunes:category text="Music"> <itunes:category text="Video Games" /> </itunes:category>

<itunes:subtitle>Free video game ReMixes in a variety of styles and genres, by hundreds of musicians, from hundreds of games!</itunes:subtitle> <itunes:summary> Founded in 1999, OverClocked ReMix is an organization dedicated to the appreciation, preservation, and interpretation of video game music. 9. Brushfire was going to try to get me to watch this with some folks at SGC tomorrow night. Now I'll tell him the only way he can get me to go is if we Riff the ever-loving crap out of it. In our speedos. I've heard from some people that the series was pretty good. I've also heard that M. Night Schnablahbludan should stop making movies. I can't remember anyone saying anything good about any of his movies besides Sixth Sense. Signs was trite (even though I enjoyed some of the tension he created), The Village was retarded in retrospect, and I had no urge to see anything else he made.
10. Thanks for the info, Kyle. That's good to know. Well, the least that can happen now, if the site is indeed defunct and the new slim-n'-trim virt isn't going to bring it back, I hope he doesn't forget his holiday promise last year about the torrent or zip or whatever of all the archived songs. I miss them songs ;_;
11. Yeah, I should talk to Brushfire about splitting this thread into an official OCAD thread where important announcements are made and something in offtopic where people can talk randomly. It does make the thread hard to follow! Well, originally, OCR wasn't planned to be involved with SGC at all, as far as I am aware. After OCAD got the panel, that it was decided it should be split between OCR and OCAD. There's going to be some prizes and a small amount of merch will be sold (there wasn't much left so there won't be much). As for live DJ'ing, probably not going to happen. And sadly, Larry's pink T-Hawk will be missing. The people on the OCR/OCAD panel at SGC are Brushfire (co-host of OverClocked After Dark and prince of the OCR TF2 server), Epicenter (co-host of OverClocked After Dark and lurker), Cyril the Wolf (OC ReMixer and project participant), and myself (not gonna toot my own horn). I'm sure a few forumers will show up there as well. As far as I know, there's really no unofficial side events we have planned. We're just going to go with the flow and nerd out. As for what specifically will be in the presentation/panel/podcast/???, you'll have to wait and see! Are you planning on attending?
12. Not only that but man, MANY OC ReMixes started as DoD entries that were either refined or just directly submitted. It's definitely cause for concern.
13. I was going to post a picture of me in a speedo just to make you change your mind. But nawwwww, that'd be really wrong of me. It's always special when someone comes here to say how much they appreciate everyone's work, and it will never get old. "You done good." You know what OC ReMixers also really like? They LOVE reviews on their songs. Now that you're all signed up, definitely let the people who's songs move you the most know that and why. Have fun!
14. Thanks to one of our fans for pointing this out to us. Looks like the author of My Immortal is at it again... http://thdarkmaiden.deviantart.com/gallery/?loggedin=1
15. Another Necrobump. I just listened to this and it kicks ass.
16. ..... FUUUUCK YESSSSSS. Finally some more FFT love. Great integration of the source tunes, and nice changeups. I'm loving where you're taking this. Don't stop now, I don't have any real critiques because I really like what you has so far. I just want MORE OF IT.
17. Well, I have Sampletank 2.5 XL, Miroslav Philharmonik, and Sonic Synth 2 (couldn't resist the buy one get two free deal). I have some general interface questions as well as any tips you could provide on how to effectively use something like Sonic Synth. This is my first time having a real sampler engine like this and I'm a bit lost for functionality. I'm going to read the manual for sure but next time we have a jam session do you think you can give me some tutilige?

18. So I just got some IK Multimedia stuff. I have heard you use IK Multimedia stuff. Is there truth to this statement, or has the evidence been falsified?

19. Welcome to our new n00bs! I just realized a disturbing trend: 9 out of 10 n00bs that actually post in this thread seem to have less than 25 posts still...and this thread goes back a LONG ways. No excuses to be lurkers. n00bs: make us proud. *salutes the StrongBadian flag*
20. Thanks, Wes! Yeah, the extended use of the 2->1 snare/clap run was a tough call but I really love how old rock it sounds. While it may be grating, it's definitely a staple of that style. Glad it's not a dealbreaker, though!
21. Well then, that settles it! Thanks, halc, and I will do my darndest to continue being awesome. Sending this in once my three week window is up! <3 you, workshop forums, as always.
22. Episode 29 is released: Episode 29 - 67 in Experience Value (With Theory of Nonexistence) Hopefully have the new site up and ready this week before SGC. Enjoy the new episode!
23. Did a slight update based on Gario's comments. It's done in my mind, so I'll move this to Mod Review. Level 99 - Fire in the Tires (FINAL)
24. Meant to post this update a while ago. Whilst there are no four octave pitchbends, I think this one is definitely improved. EQ is better, there's more differentiation, and I've taken a lot of people's critiques into account. http://www.mediafire.com/?dn5jlmzjll3 BAM!
25. Nah, I don't mind it too much. Something I'll never let The Prophet live down, my solo for the Radical Dreamers track "Theives of Fate (Days of Summer)" is off by a bizarre amount of time. I guess most people wouldn't guess it, though. Yeah, I really don't mind how you splice that in, TBH. It's your song so place it wherever you want, whatever you think sounds best.
