Zeal Vocal Mix ~ Need help!
DragonAvenger replied to DragonAvenger's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Double post for good measure! BPM = 128 Lyrics are as follows: "This place I know, a simple reality But what I know, only my mind believes A butterfly that flies so high in the sky What can I be only when dreams come true. Close your eyes and dream that you're flying away Open your mind and see again. Where we are, you're so far away from me But bounderies are nothing within my dreams I'll fly away on wings of mist and of spray You'll soar with me only when dreams come true. Close your eyes and dream that you're flying away Open your wings and soar again. So sleep now and I'll tell you where I am Just let go of your fears Take my hand and follow me Higher than before." -
Corridors of Time Mix This mix has been sitting on my computor for 2 years now...2 years!!! I really want to get this finished, and we need help to do it. Nicole Adams approached me so very long ago in regards to my Vocal Triggers project, and provided me a rough sketch to record some vocals over. I mapped out everything and did all of my recordings, but now we're at an impasse. Currently the background mix is 2 years old, and wasn't entirely meant to be a finished product anyways. I'm looking for someone who is willing to step up and give this a shot of getting the arrangement finished. Also, any constructive criticism, keeping in mind the age of all of this, would be appreciated. There vocals are dry recordings, nothing has been done to them. Currently there are 18 seperate files for the vocals alone. Nicole is willing to help with producing the vocal processing, mixing, and mastering, but that needs to come after the background is finished. I finally really understand multi-tracking Anyone around who's willing to lend a hand? Let me know in here, or PM me and hopefully I should be able to hook you up.

FF4 Project Listening Party! THIS SATURDAY!
DragonAvenger replied to OceansAndrew's topic in General Discussion
For the record, I didn't entirely look away. I was just trying not to laugh. Also, I would like to note that Larry was also wearing a tail during the butt-shaking. Currently we are working on "Can the Judges Liontamer?" -
There's so much that I want to say, but I can't remember it all to post. The amount of sites that I was able to check out that are featuring the album is astounding. I can't wait to see everyone's reactions to this wonderful project. I don't think many people can understand just how hard OA worked on this. I talk to him a lot on AIM, and there were very few times he WASN'T working on this in some shape or form. I can't give him enough praise for what he did to really make this project come alive. Thank you, OA.

Currently I'm in Manassas, VA, at my brother's place. I'm looking forward to, and not looking forward to, going tomorrow, as I did not preregister. Hooray for 3 hour waits! Tomorrow I'll be going as Lucca from Chrono Trigger (yes, I am lazy and reusing from last year). Saturday expect to see me as Zidane from FFIX! Can't wait to see you guys! -

You know I meant in a room where all the guys aren't right? I could probably muster up a song or two, but, I'll be honest that I actually don't perform live that well. I will have fun though -

It's Daughtry! -
This track is just amazing. Doug, you rock. What's really great is that throughout the mix you can still feel the original source. I know I would be very easily tempted to go off onto something not related, but Doug keeps the track firmly within the source and gives it some awesome treatment. Wonderful job. Also, I couldn't wait for this to be posted because of how hilarious the title is.

OCR01860 - Little Nemo "Sunshine Through My Window"
DragonAvenger replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Very cute! I'm smiling while I write this, because you can't help but be in a good mood when you listen to this. A very apt title, too. The transition from the almost-ominous part back to the happy world is a little bit awkward. In fact, I'm a little put off by the ominous part to begin with, but I can see why you would include it. Aside from that, bubbly fun! -

I had the same exact reaction to that line. Once I knew what it was, I couldn't stop laughing. I'm very curious to know Larry's (and everyone's) response to that track. Can't wait for Saturday! -

Speaking of cosplay: I was lazy/busy this year, and won't have my new costume done for Otakon (hopefully it'll be ready for Connecticon). What should I go as this year for Saturday: Lucca from Chrono Trigger (which I wore last year), Zidane from FFIX, or Squall from FFVIII? -

I only sent him the characters names since I don't know that dude's name -
I'm definately a melody fan, so this mix isn't entirely what I dig. I like the concept of having the melody in the 'haze' (a good term for this mix), but my ears keep asking for more of the main line. Take this with a grain of salt, of course. I like the combo of the drums with the arpeggiated line. They both compliment each other nicely. Not my thing, but a good job reguardless.

OCR01863 - Vagrant Story "Youthful Bravery"
DragonAvenger replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
This is very pretty! I don't know the source, but there is no need to enjoy this wonderfully emotive piece. I was originally going to comment on the brevity of this, but the more I listen to it, I think it's just the right length. Kudos on that. My favorite moment is 1:50-2:00. It's just perfect, nothing else I can say about it. Oddly enough, I can only describe it as a sigh. Don't ask me why. Great job, and I'd love to hear more from you! -

OCR01864 - Final Fantasy VI "The Hot Pink of Blues"
DragonAvenger replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I think this track is fantastic. Wonderful interpretation of the source, and just awesome to listen to. The judges decision thread was a pretty interesting read, and I would be curious to dig up the old version to hear what they were talking about. I know in my position this would have been an easy yes. Great work!
