  1. I still can't get over how good all of AnSou's mixes are. This one works just perfectly in portraying the decay of Kefka's mind. The part that I really love is the section with the bells playing very innocently, yet with a such a sinister overtone. Great work, as per usual.
  2. Trickwaters has alwasy been a great arranger, and it shows here in this mix. Great use of dynamics; it only gets loud once, but when it does it really counts. Instrumentation is pretty cool, because he uses a bunch of instruments that you dont normally here even in concert music these days. Nice work.
  3. This mix is very cute, I'm really liking it. Very clever with the name, although for the first listen I was waiting for the evil clowns to come get me all of a sudden. The 3:00 section was my favorite part, the slowdown was pretty trippy. I'm on the fence on whether this was a tad too long, but I have to listen more before I make that decision. Great work guys.
  4. I'll start off by saying that I'm not interested in this type of music at all, so I will stick with commenting more objectively. That being said, I can start by saying that the mix absolutely achieves what it sets out to do. If you want a dark mix that makes you feel abosolutely hopeless, than this is exactly what you need. The mood is conveyed very well. Screaming vocals, evil lyrics, breathless females, it's got all the right things to make you feel depressed. The background, especially when it gets more sparse and subtle does a nice job of this as well. Good work with this mix, although I won't be listening more than once.
  5. A. Oh heck yes. I wouldn't be singing if it weren't for OCR. More than that, I wouldn't have really gotten into arranging lyrics/melodies at all. Plus, OCR keeps music FUN for me, which is the biggest thing I can say about this site.
  6. I'd first heard Kate's 'You're Not Alone' mix on youtube almost completely by accident. I was completely floored by her voice, and I was quite eager to hear the rest of her mixes. This song is easily my favorite of hers; the arrangement is perfect for her voice (and even better that she played everything too!) and the lyrics are just right for the song. I won't lie, I'm a little envious of how easy she makes everything sound. I look forward to hearing more from Kate, and look forward to hearing more of her songs on OCR.
  7. Processing and autotuning. See the thread in the project forums for the file.
  8. Weren't you going to sing for me, and finish the vox production on the other track?
  9. Make more awesome mixes now that you are older and more experianced...or something like that... Happy birthday dude!
  10. Riulyn's Sheet Music was one of the sites I first used to learn to play some VG music. Some stuff is too hard, but most of the arrangements are accessable for someone who has had a year or so of playing. Ichigo's Sheet Music has lots of anime and game stuff, varying quality.
  11. I'm telling everyone this, but I will try "Poop" in every level. Just because I can.
  12. I have fond and angry-fond memories of Lufia 2. I want in, if anyone needs a vocalist.
  13. Planning on attending, though haven't set stuff in stone yet. Too bad DrumUltima can't go, we could have had a grand time driving together
  14. Awesome arrangement, really awesome arrangement. When it doesn't click that it's Zeal at first, and then you're blown away by the realization, you know you have a winner. Sweet deal.
  15. The first note really kills the mood. That really needs to be fixed in a future recording if you want to get a good impression out right away. The arrangement is really cool. Very different from the original, and has it's own flavor. Love the latin radio thrown in there as well. Overall intonation needs work, and there are moments where certain parts in the orchestra aren't heard as well as they should be. Such is the vice of a live recording, of course. I'm still torn about the change of the mood. I like that it's original, but I feel like it loses something in translation. I want to say that the whimsicle feel is what I'm wishing for and not getting in this almost 'more serious yet not' version. Hard to explain really. Definately enjoyable, and a great tribute to the original.
  16. I'm so popular they have written a book about me. Anyways, DragonAvenger is what I use almost everywhere on forums and the like. Deia Vengen is my pseudonym, which is a play off of "DA" and "DragonAvenger" combined. XDarlantanX or DarlantanDragonAvenger are also used in the instance where DragonAvenger is taken. Annoyingly I'm not the only DragonAvenger. One is a 19 year old male myspace page. The other I've seen is some spanish gaming forum.
  17. Can you two work something out? At least one of you can be happy in the end.
  18. I will admit to laughing out loud in my room at that one. Wow. Just. Wow.
