  1. The lack of real change for most of the mix made me start to feel like I'd left this on repeat. The mix has a light, fun feel to it, but without some real change to the timbre I lost my enthusiasm. Cute mix, definately very Holidy feeling, but not too crazy about it overall.
  2. The listening party was hella fun. Complete with male strippers. Well, male nakers.
  3. The first incarnation of my SN was 'drgnavngr' (@hotmail.com). I remember someone emailing me when hi saying something like "NO VOWELS GRL RAHHH"
  4. Ok, three people interested, which is awesome, but now I'm not exactly sure what to do, which is not as awesome. Maybe you guys (possibly girls?) could do a quick demo that I can hear and choose one? I hate having to make decisions like this :/ dbrown, your file didn't work for me. Can you try again or email it to me? Thanks!
  5. Sometimes when I view the frontpage I see the competitions section lower than the workshop section. It doesn't bother me greatly, but I figured it was something worth bringing up. I contemplated posting it in the new look thread, but I've seen this before the new looks, so here we are in a new thread. Anyone else see this?
  6. I'm liking this. I'd love to hear it updated with some better sounds overall, it has potential of being very pretty. I would have loved a bit more dynamic variation in the beginning, especially if it could have created a better blend between the instruments. Right now it feels like things are working on their own rather than (duh) together. Strings feel a little harsh, and the low piano line gets a bit repetative. Overall if those things were updated I would be quite happy with this, but as is it's a nice track that I enjoy.
  7. The sounds themselves are kind of annoying. OA's probably right in that it's just so much high end at once. Overall it's an energetic track, but I can't say I'm feeling it. The drum sounds are bothering me and overall I feel almost crowded by everything going on. Not for me, I guess.
  8. Most people covered the points I was going to say, but I'll reiterate that in a group where anyone is allowed to post without restrictions, you're going to get the dredges of the internet. The thing I found typical (while still very annoying) is it is the 15-20 people who are really ruining it for you. Are the rest of the people generally nice? It's the loudest people who are heard (usually unfortunately). I've played two korean MMO's lately, Secret of the Solstice and Ether Saga Online. Both are just as you put it: grind fests with halfway decent stuff to make it enjoyable but not amazing. I only really hung out in the forums for SotS, but it had pretty much the same community. Uninformed people who make nothing but ridiculous and unneeded posts and the people who jump down their throats calling them stupid and whatever. However, lurking in the masses were some generally intelligent people who you could have a decent discussion with. Sometimes it took a lot of searching, though. What I ended up using the forums for were the guides that people had made up which were pretty decent. After that I hadn't really been to the forums since. By the way, in SotS you lost 7%, which sucked when generally monsters who conned red only would give you .05% (at most!)per kill. That is, of course, unless you used the cash shop items that would prevent exp loss. That's what bugs me the most about the game.
  9. This was brought up in the Xenogears comment thread, but it seems to be surprisingly difficult to find a way to donate to the site now. Might want to take a look into that.
  10. http://ocremix.org/info/Supporting_OverClocked_ReMix There's the about. HOWEVER, since the redesign has removed the sidebar, the link to paypal seems to be surprisingly missing. That will be fixed soon, I'm sure. I'm holding off my real post here until I can sit down and get a really good listen in.
  11. I'm sad that Jigglypoof isn't considered. Also, I am sad that I couldn't find a male singer to get my Pallet Town arrangement done. Also, I am sad that people are putting words in my mouth. Also, I am sad.
  12. I was amazed by that. Totally awesome. I love how effortlessly she moves from one picture to the next.
  13. When you finish the arrangement can I have an instrumental version to fool around with? It's such a good song, and I'm loving the arrangement so far. I can't wait to hear it finished.
  14. There's a youtube video of a Californian college doing a marching band video game show (I can't remember which one it is). They did Pong, Tetris, Mortal Combat, Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, and Mario if I remember correctly. If I wasn't at work I'd dig it up for you, but I'm sure someone will post it.
  15. I'm not holding much faith in this panning out (requests never seem to), but I figured it'd be worth trying. I have english lyrics written out to Radical Dreamers from Chrono Cross, but I've never been able to find someone interested in writing the background for me to sing to. I'm hoping a thread like this (now that I'm halfway decently established here) might pick up someone to help me out with this. If anyone wants to give it a shot, feel free to respond here, PM me, email (darlantandragonavenger@gmail.com) or aim me (XDarlantanX). Thanks for reading!
  16. This works surprisingly well in this style, I'm impressed. Good listen, although I'm a tad iffy on the ending. It's good, just doesn't feel like the right fit for this track, in my opinion. It's by no means a deal breaker, and after a few listens I think I'll be fine with, it. Great work though!
  17. What's awesome about this is that it's subtle in it's arrangement, but the sense of urgency remains hovering as you listen. I could easily see this building into some awesome cut scene, or something where the suspense keeps building. Nice work, but it would be great to have this have a real climax somewhere (I found that to be what was lacking).
  18. The source is easily one of my favorites from FFIV, and Nutritious does such an amazing job with this. It's so awesome to hear how much he's improved as well. Fantastic job, gives me shivers.
  19. That's been accepted for about 2-3 weeks now. I personally can't wait for it to be posted.
  20. I am sad that I won't be there in person. I will not, however, miss the naked roommates.
  21. Definately full of bass. Overall it takes too long to get anywhere though. The drums are killing me too, way too fake sounding these days. Would have been nice to have had more variation on the melody, also. Not for me, sorry.
  22. Too much warrrrrggghhhhh. Not enough music. More music please.
