Email: Userid: 47595 Game arranged: The legend of Zelda - Ocarina of time Name of arrangement: Nabooru Name of individual songs arranged: Gerudo Valley Gerudo valley is a song I really enjoy jamming around on the keyboard, and some night I felt an urge to make an arrangement around this song, so I sat through the night and worked. It turned out better than expected, and now I want to 'test' it through you to see what a professional judge panel might think. The song is named after the character Nabooru who's like the gerudo leader under ganondorf. --------------

Console/Platform: GameCube, Wii OST Composers: Kenji Yamamoto, Kouichi Kyuuma Source: Attached. Composed in FL Studio 10. Remix: Right here, MP3 VBR1. Comments: "Truong-Son's Comments: This ReMix was loads of fun, and I really enjoyed working on it with AngelCityOutlaw. This is a crazy effort, and I do believe ACO's guitar and arrangement contributions really tied this together very well. You just can't get that heaviness to the palm mute chugs with a sample library. This was my first time using Fruity Granulizer, and I loved the result. I really enjoyed the challenge in mixing this track overall, though. Fitting the wubs snugly into the guitar was tough for sure, but it sounds so cool in the end! Chris's Comments: You know, sometimes I love it when things don’t work out. This Metroid Prime mix started as a Pitfall and Tomb Raider mix that “fell” through. So we abandoned it and began to look for other sources to remix instead. Timaeus suggested the Menu Select theme from Super Metroid, and I figured the credits theme from Metroid Prime was a more complete choice, and the rest is history! Timaeus did the mixing, mastering and the majority of the arrangement on this one. I contributed guitars and some additional composition and arrangement. I also managed to beat Metroid Fusion during the times that T was working his magic on the mix! Seriously though, this thing was a huge undertaking and we hope that you, arbiters of OCR submissions, will enjoy evaluating this. To all of the people who have and will listen to this ReMix and support our music, we can’t thank you enough and we’ll see you next mission! - Truong-Son and Chris" Extra Info: Source Breakdown: 0:00.00 - 0:04.40 = Original 0:04.40 - 0:22.00 = Source (0:00.50 - 0:12.98) 0:22.00 - 0:39.56 = Source Variation (0:12.98 - 0:30.04) 0:39.56 - 1:14.68 = Source (0:30.04 - 0:55.58) 1:14.68 - 1:26.39 = Source (1:39.24 - 2:12.26) 1:26.39 - 2:13.21 = Source (2:12.26 - 2:29.49) 2:13.21 - 2:24.92 = Original 2:24.92 - 2:33.71 = Source (0:30.04 - 0:55.58) 2:33.71 - 2:36.64 = Original 2:36.64 - 2:52.73 = Source (0:30.04 - 0:55.58) 2:52.73 - 3:27.84 = Source (0:12.98 - 0:30.04) 3:27.84 - End = Source (0:00.50 - 0:12.98) 213.03 / 232.07 = 91.8% source, maybe minus 20% for variation and obscurities. ----------
  8. Remixer name: Skyggesang Real name: Alex Melching Website: http://www.youtube.com/user/Skyggesang/videos User ID: 32069 Name of game arranged: Age Of Wonders Name of arrangement: Overly Sophisticated Halflings Name of songs arranged: March Of The Halflings I haven't uploaded new music in a long time, but better late than never, I guess. This remix is of an old turn-based strategy game, which I played very often years ago. The original music is kinda new age/folk and I absolutely loved it. The first soundtrack I ever downloaded was of this game. I picked this track, because I think it's one of the most popular and the source material was fun to work with. The version I made became classical-ish music. I wanted to keep the arrangements largely the same, but alter the mood of the song. The key was set to F# minor, with a change back to the original A minor at the end. My original idea for this song was to add a guitar track playing the main melody, but that didn't sound too well in my opinion. I still have to get a bit used to the dulcimer I used instead, but overall, I think this is my favourite remix so far. -------------

I've fixed several issues since then. Source breakdown: 0:00 - 0:43 = synth is based on the short break from 0:56 to 1:03 of Wings 0:44 - 1:27 = based on the verse from Wings with some additional guitar wankery 1:28 - 1:49 = based on the chorus from Wings 1:50 - 2:03 = again based on the short break from Wings 2:04 - 2:24 = Baba Yetu 1st verse, should be pretty recognizable 2:25 - 2:47 = again the verse from Wings with some more guitar wankery 2:48 - 3:08 = Dream of the Shore, it's sped up from the source but should be easy to recognize 3:09 - 3:25 = outro based on that short break from Wings
  11. ReMixer name: jnWake. Name of game(s) arranged: Mega Man 7, Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball. Name of arrangement: Spin Like Turbo Man. Name of individual song(s) arranged: "Turbo Man" (from MM7), "Toxic Caves" (from Sonic Spinball). LINK TO ARRANGEMENT: . Mix comments: I made this mix for Round 1 of the Blue Bomber Blue Blur Collision Competition (a.k.a. B4C2), which was essentially a Sonic vs Mega Man competition. Anyway, on this round I had to mix "Turbo Man" from MM7 (my pick for the competition) with Sonic Spinball's "Toxic Caves" (picked by therex). My goal for most of the competition was to do the arrangements in the style of my opponent's source, so when I first listened to the bass in Toxic Caves, I knew I had to do (or try to do) a funk-ish mix. Blending the sources was a bit hard because Turbo Man is very fast and the tempo in Toxic Caves is slower, but I think I succeeded in making both songs recognizable. Also, I'm usually more of a rock person so I also had to experiment a bit to create more of a funk vibe. I used many chords with 7ths, 9ths and other alterations I had never used before! In the end, I think I managed to make a groovy and funky song. I'm also proud of the section beggining at 2:30, the chords I used there combined with the hard strings create a nice vibe. Hope you like it! Source breakdown: 0:00 - 0:59: Bass plays the bassline from Toxic Caves. Lead that enters at 0:25 plays the main melody from Turbo Man. 1:00 - 1:27: Bright synth plays the melody from section B of Turbo Man. 1:28 - 1:45: Some neat chords are laid over Toxic Caves' bass line! 1:46 - 2:21: Synth solo over an 'original' progression (if you want to call that progression original!). 2:22 - 2:29: Build-up! 2:30 - 3:05: Bright synth plays the melody from Turbo Man's C section (rhytm is altered) while bass plays an alteration of the Toxic Caves bass line. 3:06 - 3:22: Lead plays the main melody of Toxic Caves. 3:23 - 3:47: Repeat of the 1:00 - 1:27 section. 3:48 - End: Outro, synth lead plays Turbo Man's main melody. --------------- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJxir0_MCGo - Mega Man - Sonic
  12. Original Decision: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=39279 Thanks for the help! Emunator actually uploaded the newer version of the mix as part of the DKC3 album, so you can find it on that website. The remix is titled "Heart of Darkness" and the write-up info is found here: A direct link: For reference, here is the OLD VERSION of the remix that was judged previously: Finally, the original source: Significant changes in the newer remix are a shorter length, from trimming parts of the arrangement that were either redundant or not cohesive enough, and subtle re-balancing of levels on a few instruments. The biggest gripes of the original were that parts of the arrangement were a bit too drawn out and some of the lead instruments needed more clarity. I hope these issues were well taken care of, as it already felt pretty close the last time. ----------------------------------------------
  13. Every so often we skim through the inbox for resubmissions to post to the panel. Because they are resubs, they do get priority for making it onto the panel, which is usually why you see some mixes that are far ahead of the 'Currently' date. What I do personally when looking for a resub is to search the keywords ("resubmission", "resub", "re-submission"). If you didn't give us any indication that it was a resub in your email it might have been missed. Meanwhile, send me a PM of the date you sent it and the name of it and stuff and I'll take a look for you.

I think it might be coming out soonish? Not sure. Anyway, I took the original march and sped it up to make synth rock. Initially was going to record some guitar leads, but honestly I suck at the guitar. And I like the way it turned out. ----------------- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cgr2Uarqg-0

  16. Dear OC ReMix Judges, Here is an improved version of an arrangement I submitted to OverClocked ReMix on Dec. 12, 2011, that was evaluated by OA, DragonAvenger, and halc on Mar. 13, 2012 and rejected on the grounds of poor sample quality and mastering. I have been working over the piece for the past year with new samples and with the assistance of the Work-in-Progress forums (and I've learned quite a bit about mastering!). Original submission thread: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=38115 Work-in-Progress thread: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=40239 ReMix information: ReMixer: Sauraen OC ReMix Forums Userid: 47320 Game: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (1993, Nintendo, Game Boy) ReMix Title: Melodies of Mabe Village Songs arranged: Ballad of the Wind Fish, Mabe Village, Koholint Island Software used: Sibelius, EastWest/Quantum Leap Complete Composers Collection, Audacity I hope you enjoy this arrangement. 17. REMIX NAME: Late Night Lindblum PART OF FINAL FANTASY IX REMIX PROJECT! HOLD UNTIL POSTED! Contact Info Remixer names: Mattias Häggström Gerdt ReMix Info Name of game ReMixed: Final Fantasy IX Name of individual song(s) ReMixed: Lindblum Your own comments about the mix, for example the inspiration behind it, how it was made, etc. I remember playing FFIX and coming to Lindblum for the first time... There was so much to do! So many NPCs to talk to, so many games of Quad Mist to play, so many exclamation marks in corners and mashing the X button. This remix started off with me wondering what a wicked night club in Lindblum would sound like. Strobe lights, dancefloor and giant subwoofers! All powered by mist of course. Then I did what I always do and left the remix alone for too long. When I came back to it I had an entirely different idea! Slick jazz in a smoke filled night club, plenty of Oglop Cocktails and drinks spiced with Ether. So for the low low price of one remix I give you two takes on "Lindblum by Night".
