  1. Pushes no boundaries, takes no chances, but doesn't screw anything up. This is just a solid song; enjoyable, catchy, and fun to listen to. It doesn't get boring to listen to, doesn't drag on, and any repetition is soon forgotten. I can't really fault it for anything, it's a good take on the theme. Good stuffs.
  2. I like this. It has a good feel to it, it was actually kind of fun to listen to, so I can't imagine how it would not have been fun to make. I have no gripes with it, not even with some of the sounds used. Industrial done right!
  3. Good take on the theme song, this would have fit so well into the game. I love how he uses game sounds for percussion in this song (and in at least 1 more that readily comes to mind), it is such a genius approach to remixing and he pulls it off so well.
  4. The repetition didn't really hurt too much for me. It did drag on a bit but I didn't really like it any less because of this. The vocals were pretty cute, and they really do suck you in on the intro. Not much else to say though.
  5. Honestly, I like the vocal clips used here. They give a really nice highlight to what would otherwise be a quite simple intro. That and the "It's time for the killing game show" was a nice bit of work. Too bad though that the track was so short. Most of it seemed to be intro, and very little of the real meat, which was showing some real promise. Ah well, still a nice highlight whenever it comes around on my iPod's shuffle setting.
  6. I don't really know how to take something like this... It's moody for sure, definitely very atmospheric, but yet I still can't say whether I like it or not. It feels like there is something missing here, some visual that needs to be conveyed alongside it. I can't just close my eyes here and think of what is going on with this. As far as music that helps reinforce an atmosphere, I think this is perfect. However, I don't really like this as a standalone per se. It's good, but like I have clumsily been trying to convey, it just doesn't "do it" for me in that sense.
  7. TOO SHORT!!!!!!!!!! I wanted this to go on forever and ever and ever! It was just too much fun to listen to... Great beat, good instrumentation, awesome balance throughout... why did it have to end so quickly?? Short form: I loved it!
  8. The sounds in this seem deceptively simple... It's cool how everything is layered really nicely; it sets up quite the mood indeed. There were a couple patches where it sounded like it might be dragging on a bit, but then the song took a new direction which I really appreciate. Good listen!
  9. This is amazing! You guys seriously outdid yourselves here *Sends emails to all his friends advertising OCR and this project, and getting them to check out the game*
  10. This song is such chill and awesomeness. Honestly though... there are no words... they should have sent a poet.
  11. Awesome track, this should definitely get more attention since it solid through and through.
  12. I'm never going to look at hand sanitizer or a nurse's outfit the same way again.
  13. This is just a really great, ambient piece of music. Hats off! Oh and I will totally chime in with approval for the static effect. At first I thought that my speakers were having a seizure but then it was all ok.
  14. Are you guys at all noob friendly (as in someone that has not played this game before?)
  15. It's pretty ironic how a friend lent me this graphic novel a couple days before dark knight. I am totalaly psyched about this movie. I might even *gulp* brave opening night crowds for it if the further trailers look good.
  16. I used to do a lot of fanfiction but quit when I realized that everything I ever put out was "the most amazing thing ever" and that I wasn't getting any better with writing. Of course, I didn't post in any major fan-fic communities because from what I saw they were mostly along the lines of "Ridley X Samus" or "Cloud X Tifa." No, thanks.
  17. I honestly don't think CoD has as many raving fans as the FF series. Honestly I would say that "Military shooter" is a bit more of a niche market than JRPG. Still though, you do bring up a good point. Still though, the fact that the PS3 is losing exclusives has got to hurt. Really, what notable exclusives do they have now, other than MGS? Oh and God of war...
  18. *sigh* I'm a total geek for knowing this. After Cloud stabs Sephiroth in the Nibel Mako Reactor, he goes to tend to Tifa. Sephiroth comes out holding Jenova's head, and Zack says "Cloud, finish him off." I should think Sephiroth would have figured it out then Although this is becoming a departure for the conversation entirely. Is anyone else excited by the prospect that S-E might now consider making KH sequels on the haxbox360?
  19. It's odd how many people do this. Well in the end though, it does earn them some attention and recognition, even if it is in a negative sense. Except for those people who sell remixes. Yeah.... like those people who release their first solo album, and then as the last track they have some sort of remix from a very popular JRPG that was created for a remix album that is released for free on a very popular video game remixing site, having been posted as remix #1612 on the database. And of course like the sucker you are, you totally buy said remix that comes on their album because you want to support them because they deserve to get started in the music industry, but really you know that there are multiple other ways to get the song for free, such as visiting the remix site and downloading it (I think it's under "F") or downloading the entire remix album which in itself kicks ass. . . . No, I'm not an idiot and I know what I just typed out. Although legally, how does that work? I'm unfamiliar with copyright law, so how does that work when you pay royalties for a song when it's on your personal album yet the song can be downloaded for free?
  20. Hmmm... really I suppose that this is more of a personal opinion than anything. I consider it a bad game because it lacks a compelling storyline, has very little to no replay value, and has a low sense of immersion. All 3 of those points seal the deal on me calling the game "genuinely bad." Realistically though, this does all boil down to opinion. Perhaps in the future I'll replace a criticism such as "it was a genuinely bad game" with "I very heavily disliked the game."
  21. Not to mention that with 1:1 controls the ideal of an awesome light saber game is not far off. I am not sure how much wii owners realize this, but a realistic Star Wars game where all you do is fight with Lightsabers will attract so many new people it's insane. Or at least... that's what all my non-wii playing friends say.
  22. I personally hate it because it was a genuinely bad game. I will agree that it wins for presentation (aesthetic was very polished) and localization. Still, the gameplay was a huge weakness for me, and the story was... well it was "meh" at best and intensely boring at worst. I personally would say that the game tried to hard to be groundbreaking AND polished AND good that it failed at all 3. Although it wasn't really groundbreaking. The gameplay was very close to FF11, just with the other 5 idiots in your party being automated by your gambits. Hell I enjoyed FFX-2. Sort of... I though it was an unecessary game, and the fact that it was final fantasy barbie was a huge turnoff, but the battle system and continuous good music kept me with it. Oh and for the record: The "traditional style" doesn't make a difference for me. I loved the hell out of the Seiken Densetsu series, and all 3 kingdom hearts games, so I am not someone bound by the "traditional" FF game. I just want a game to be GOOD.
  23. That music is so funky and wierd, it's awesome. The last song with the robots sounds like something earthbound-ish. Definitely intriguing.
  24. I can't remember what it was called, but it was for a portable system.
  25. Ondor? Huh? Also, all these people being mean are liable to make a newbie sad ; ; Haha just kidding, I really wish that more than one person could give a quantifiable reason as to why FF12 was a good game rather than just hurl insults in the same manner that a monkey at the zoo hurls poo. To address Malaki, you are right that being able to scale difficulty makes games better. I tried that at first with FF12. I ran from city to city until I hit boss fights that I realized I couldn't win due to having levels too low (thus having not enough HP to survive attacks, and not doing enough damage.) So I ended up having to go outside and grind on wolves for a couple hours. I was fully prepared to give 12 a chance since I have given almost all games I play a chance (except like.... I dunno, but the game I wouldn't give a chance must exist) but I honestly can say I just don't like it on any level. As such, 13 doesn't seem like it'll be any better. Maybe flashier.... something that 12 definately was lacking. None of the characters except Balthier were very cool. Edit: I almost forgot! This game gets upgraded from "Travesty" to "Bad game that might have been ok if it wasn't titled 'Final Fantasy' and had instead been titled 'Adventures in some place'" by having Gilgamesh. He alone was worth buying the game.
