Truth, but how many kids nowadays have ever actually played a classic Mega Man game? Hell, how many kids nowadays have ever played an 8-Bit game? I'm pretty sure that many would turn a blind eye to Mega Man. Of course I don't know the actual buying trends for WiiWare, so I could be wrong, but I'm willing to wager that most people spending the cash on the old-school Virtual Arcade goodness are the older crowds.

Think of it this way: If you grind all the way to the highest level and everything you touch DIES, how else are they going to keep battles challenging? Note: This is based on abstract reasoning as the only game I've ever gotten my characters to the highest level was FFVIII, and that's a totally different game. So take my opinions with a grain of salt.

Agreed. Mark my words. Mega Man 9 isn't going to remain Wii exclusive forever. It would be an unfathomably stupid move on Capcom's part to do so. Plenty of people would shell out the green for the game, but if people weren't planning on buying a Wii in the first place, they're NOT going to buy it just for MM9. Not even I could give the BoTD to someone that dumb.

The problem with the engine port for FFT is that there is a serious amount of frame rate slowdown for virtually every special ability, and many sound effects are pretty much terrible.

As valid as it may be, that doesn't necessarily mean it's an accurate comparison. I can see they probably got a few influences to the overall system from WoW(just as WoW got MANY of it's system elements from Diablo), but if you'd kindly take a gander at the wonderful side-to-side screens Sephfire has provided, you'll see that there are plenty of artistic distinctions all over the place. I'm sure Blizzard knows the differences between two of their trademark series and are going to make sure they keep them as separate gameplay experiences. And it's beyond reason to complain about a game that we've only seen a minute fraction of in the first place. You know I'm sure Blizzard knew this kind of backlash would come. If they would have released D3 before WoW, I guarantee that not a single denizen of the internet would be comparing and complaining.

Not to nitpick, but if we're to take the actual meaning of the word natural, then there's nothing natural about a bodybuilder at all whether it's a woman OR a man. Against nature? You do realize that at one point in western history fat people were considered attractive, right? Ideal beauty is a social concept, and news flash, there are many different societies, which would logically lead us to believe that there are MANY different standards of ideal beauty. And on the matter of Japanese girls liking androgynous-looking men, there are probably throngs of girls and guys in Japan who are probably thinking that Americans are weirdos for their tastes in men as well. In fact, if my understanding is correct, bodybuilders in Japan usually have one designation: Fag. Sorry for getting on a soapbox, but gender and social identity bigotry like that pisses me off.

Well do you want Alucard to look like Mario? But seriously, I agree that androgyny is annoying. It's especially annoying when you see it in EVERY DAMNED Japanese game save for a few mentions here and there, but the main character is usually some kind of girly-looking man. In the case of Castlevania, Ayame Kojima's art lends greatly to the gothic themes present in the series. Are they a bit more girly than one would like? Probably, but for now let's forgive it. It still looks pretty damned cool anyway.

Once I build my uber PC sometime next February, I'll give Vista Home Premium a spin. Of course I'm looking into at least a high-end Core 2, 4 gigs RAM, and hopefully either a good 8800 with 512 RAM or an SLI set-up. Here's an off topic question though. Is the performance gain on SLI really worth the extra green, or is it really just unnecessary for decent performance?

Agreed. It's funny how IGA pretty much had a hold on the Castleloid formula at Aria, but then kind of lost it and started trailing after it making a few decent DS games that just weren't up to par. Here's to hoping Order of Ecclesia will be gold.

Diablo III news? Awesome. Mega Man 9 news? Awesome x2. Castlevania fighter news? Well it's a fighte-WHAT IT'S CASTLEVANIA!? Bad IGA. Bad! What's worse, it's on the Wii. The English language doesn't have a word powerful enough to convey the mind-obliterating level of failure that this is. I mean seriously, I don't even understand how this is going to be even remotely functional as an idea. For all the hatred and anguish I have for Smash Brothers, at least it works. I really don't see IGA coming away from this one unscathed... To be fair, we'll see how this plays out, but at first glance, this just looks terrible in a funny "uh-oh" kinda way.

I seriously think WoW was just the money maker so Blizzard could totally DOMINATE with the return of two of their best series ever. Now they just need to make a next-gen Lost Vikings game and we're all set. ...Of course we know that chances are we won't be seeing this OR Starcraft being released until Winter 2012...

Well... Apparently they're only halfway done with the game, so we can hope that they'll add more than just this(so far) stale roster. Also, PSP is fun. We get Birth By Sleep, Dissidia, First Departure, and Second Evolution all by some time next year. Also also, difference between this and Chrono Break? Chrono Break never happened.

Now that would be a shitty line up, considering that most of the antagonists/protagonists are all the SAME DAMNED PEOPLE. Just a little bit of diversity in the roster would be quite welcome. I might forgive them though if the gameplay isn't total ass, and so far it hasn't really done a good job of grabbing me.
