If you're a JRPG fan, Tales of Vesperia is coming out mid-August, and I'm enjoying the battle system the more I play it. Might not be your cup of tea, but give the demo a shot. There's Too Human coming out soon. It's a cross between Diablo-styled skill trees, co-op and loot collecting, Mass Effect's visual style(although not quite), and the action element of a Devil May Cry game(I'm being base here, it's deeper than that). It also has a demo out on Live, so give it a shot. I liked it a lot. Bad Company is a pretty good iteration of the Battlefield series. There are many more, but I don't feel like typing all night.

I'm pretty sure they wanted a sequel with Joker in it. Hopefully they won't do to Heath Ledger's Joker what they did with Katie Holmes' Rachel with Maggie Gyllenhaal... Ugh. It's like they just killed Rachel out of anger with the casting department. This isn't to say that Katie was great or anything, but Gyllenhaal...

I plays teh DOA4-oh wait! You mean upcoming or current? 'Cause I can give you a list of close to 20 games on my upcoming must haves. Currently I'm just playing this and that 'til I get my next paycheck. Although I've been playing through Eternal Sonata again along with Ninja Gaiden and Guitar Hero 2. Been on and off with Puzzle Fighter. I'm dying to actually play the full version of Tales of Vesperia.

Bravo, Code Geass. Bravo. One of few animes that leave me with that "wait you're not seriously gonna end the episode with THAT, are you!?" feel and keep me waiting like a dog on a leash for next week's episode.

Does anyone rent games anymore?
Malaki-LEGEND.sys replied to Master_Yoshi's topic in General Discussion
But what if years later you can't find it at the rental or anywhere else? At least for me, I prefer having the game on me as opposed to well... not. -
So the opening day numbers are in. The Dark Night obliterated box office records thus far selling a total of $153.34 million not counting today(Sunday). This movie just made history. If you haven't seen it yet, then get off your ass and run to the nearest movie theater.

That much I already knew. The post quite literally left me stupefied for a few moments. -
I think the biggest mistake with Tekken is that it was uninteresting to begin with as opposed to Soul Calibur, but I digress. I can see what you mean, but there are bound to be certain types of moves here and there that are gonna coincide with another character's. I don't think this would be too big of a deal. Also I'll take on the world with Cassandra.

well I'm sure glad we have you around to point out the stuff that some posters might not get. So uh... Thanks I guess?

Everything that I see as relatively unreasonable that we see in a movie, I generally attribute it to the "magic of movies"(however the hell vague that may be, and try not to think on it too much. Also be it blatant, subtle, or otherwise just misunderstood and unapparent, there are reasons that certain scenes that seem otherwise unimportant or stupid are included in film. Kind of like I'm hoping that there's a real purpose to Nina's character in Code Geass. And I'm REALLY hoping there is...

Wow... What? -
Sales for the PS3 have been kicking up since MGS4, which is a good thing, but it still doesn't have the same install base as the 360 does, and that's what SE is looking at. If memory of The Spirits Within serves, then if FFXII was that big of a flop, the current PS3 install base just isn't enough to justify leaving it as an exclusive.
-
I'm pretty sure it was because they didn't really announce anything other than a few glorified tech demos and an adapter that adds a function that should have been built into the system since day one.
-
You do realize all of that makes WAY too much since for Nintendo to actually do any of it.

I don't think he'll do a bad job for Final Fantasy XIII. I liked the theme of closure that was present in FFX-2(as cheeky as the game could be), and as I said before the game already has me very impressed with its different ideas. I honestly had no idea that FFXII was a serious blow to SE financially. I and many other friends of mine, some of which hate most RPGS in general including FFVII, loved the hell out of it.

I got back from the movie a few hours ago, and I can safely say that Heath Ledger is now the best Joker I've seen thus far. The movie was beyond amazing.

We Started Nothing

I thought Too Human was pretty cool once I got a hang of the sword and gun play, which is definitely awkward at first. I thought that was the most badass death sequence I've yet to see. Seriously, how awesome is it to die only to have a cybernetic Valkyrie descend from the heavens to take your body to Valhalla? That's pretty badass if you ask me. At first, I was iffy about ToV, of course you're looking at a guy who never played a Tales game past Phantasia on the SNES. Once I got acquainted with the formations, skills, artes, battling and whatnot, I started enjoying it a lot more, and I liked the voice acting, the concepts, and the art direction, so I think I'll be grabbing this real soon. It is interesting that there are many JRPGs for the 360 now, but I think we're seeing a split in terms of console dominance this generation that we haven't seen thus far. I think many Japanese developers are going to start porting games between systems for different regions more frequently. I can't help but feel a little apprehensive about it.

But that was the whole point of Vaan and Penelo's character. They were just two street kids that got involved in something much bigger than the both of them. Yes Vaan was annoying, but sticking out like a sore thumb was what he was meant to do throughout the whole game. He was the voice of someone totally uninvolved. He didn't want to take down the empire. He hated them, but was waiting for someone else to do something about it. All he wanted to do was take Penelo and become a sky pirate. He was the commoner.

Well The Force Unleashed is coming up soon for the Wii, and Lucasarts got another company to handle the different ports of the game individually. From what I've seen thus far, they're trying to really incorporate the motion-sensing into the game, although it won't be using the 1:1 stuff. It seems ambitious, but it's a wait and see kind of thing. I also agree that it's true that not all games for the system have to use the motion sensing, although when Nintendo is banking on it, well, they'd better deliver eventually. Once I see some stuff that makes me go "wow, I can't get this anywhere else!", then I'll be investing in the system. So far it just seems like a souped up Gamecube to me.
-
I can see plenty of concepts that would work for a new Zelda game. That 1:1 motion attachment could seriously be used for some deep 3rd-person swordplay. I'm envisioning an idea of how the Wiimote could be used as a bow by holding down a button while pulling it away from the analog stick attachment and then releasing to the sound of a "thwip" from the controller's speaker. The Wii still has plenty of room for awesome, it just hasn't achieved it yet.

This is why sephfire is awesome. Totally agreed on, although one thing bugs me. Do people hate FFXII because they genuinely thought that it was a bad game, or was it a bad game just because it took such a huge departure from the traditional style? If it's the latter, then they're probably gonna have some serious issues with FFXIII.

I think it's usually because the video game aisles are just so dark and gloomy to me nowadays. I dunno, but I think something changed in me over time. Maybe it was the throngs of crap games that kept coming out for last generation's systems, maybe it was because I've just grown out of it from not even going to video rental stores(kind of like how I don't watch TV anymore), maybe it's just that I'm not at the point where I can just see a game cover and go "oh hey that looks like a badass game!" anymore. Generally speaking, after I read about a game extensively online(which is another factor, maybe I'm just more well-informed), I'll probably go out and buy it. Whatever the reason is, renting games is just "bleh" to me now. -
Pretty much. I just keep wondering what happened to Nintendo.
