  1. The plucked instrument + strings coming in at 1:35 are awesome. Loving the breakdown at 2:03; drum roll is always awesome. Guitar solo starting at 2:58 is sick. Synth solo is totally ridiculous; I absolutely love it. Very nice work, you two.
  2. Overall a good remix, but what really stands out are the parts starting at ~2:15 and at ~4:45. Really, really great stuff. Furthermore, I really like the "vocals" coming in at ~3:45; adds a layer of delicious cheese to the mix. Very well done.
  3. I'm inclined to agree. Nice atmosphere, and I dig some of the instruments, but overall, this remix is meandering a bit too much for my taste.
  4. Great synth lead, and an excellent prog-rock atmosphere overall in the first half. I really love how the remix makes you think it's over at the 3:04 mark, before it all of a sudden starts again, even weirder (and better) than before. Very nice.
  5. Good choice of instruments, and the panning is done really well. The outro isn't that hot, though; not really feeling the fade-out. Nice work.
  6. 1. I like the plucked instrument (guitar?) that comes in right at the beginning, but it could sound a little fuller, especially once the song becomes busier, but it's not much of an issue. 2. Not much of a fan of the voice sample (?) that comes in at 0:21, especially because it's only on the right. Generally speaking, the song's panning needs some work. 3. Cool melody coming in at 1:02, but the instrument playing it sounds a little wonky. 4. Nice voice sample at 1:45. 5. Very weird transition at 2:10. What the hell? (2. is still annoying) 6. Cool synth at 2:56. Sort of an acquired taste, but cool. 7. The breakdown around 4:30 is pretty vanilla. Could be more interesting.
  7. Agree on the headphone comment; it makes listening to the remix even more interesting. Some parts of this have an almost Mazedude-ian weirdness, i.e. quality to them. Good work.
  8. I support all motions for Suikoden V remixes.
  9. Absolutely wonderful. The synth really gives this mix that nice 90s feeling, and the guitar adds an extra layer of delicious cheese to it. The "chorus" (e.g. 1:08 onwards) is amazing. So much energy and fun. Good work, guys.
  10. Very ethnic. I really love the part between ~1:00 and ~1:20; it almost sounds like BGM from some artful 80s or early 90s Hong Kong action movie. Diggin' the synth from 1:40 onwards. Nice ending, too.
  11. A. Back then, a shitload of games originated in the arcade, and arcade games were made to make money by having the player put in a quarter every time he had to continue.
  12. I'm not bothered by the minimalist piano at all. On the contrary, I think it fits in really, really well. The part between 2:10 and 3:00 somehow makes me remember the X-Files.
  13. I remember that, too. King Matt I. IIRC.
  14. Ah yes good ol' Street Fighter II Turbo cover art.
  15. Same here. I like the "red alert"-kinda opening, though the transition into the rocking guitar part could've been smoother. The guitar work is insane and makes this one of the most energetic remixes I've listened to lately. Loving the short breakdown at ~3:10. 3:45 onwards is my favourite part of the song; I just can't get it out of my head. Great stuff. Keep rocking.
  16. 50+ posts about mascots with 'tude and no-one mentioned Bubsy yet? Shame on you, guys.
  17. This remix rocks. It sounds like something that could have been part of the F-Zero X OST, and that's always a good thing. The synth, especially from 1:40 on, adds a certain chip-tune-ish flavour, upping the awesome even more. Great stuff.
  18. That song always pops up in my head when I listen to this remix. Anyway, about the song at hand: I really like the music and the singing; it has a very 90s Euro-Metal vibe to it. Not much of a fan of the growling, though, since it, for the most part, doesn't add anything to the song. Actually, it makes it longer than it needed to be. In other words, less would have been more, but what is here is pretty good stuff.
  19. The first few moments of the remix would make perfect dungeon/boss-stage music; very badass. I love the guitar, and the piano is a nice addition. Very nice work.
  20. Not much of a fan of the part between 1:30 and 1:55; a little too grating for my taste. But other than that, this is a really good remix.
  21. Never thought I'd see another CotMM remix on the front page. As djp said in the write-up, this is a fairly melodic remix compared to CotMM's other stuff, but that is not a bad thing at all. While I like the arrangement, I have to say that the vocals don't do it for me. At all. They're just grating and annoying, especially when listening to the song using headphones. They do fit in with the overall atmosphere, but I still don't like 'em.
  22. This has replaced Bionic Electronica as my favourite BGC remix. The arrangement of the source is wonderful, and the flow the remix has to it is amazing. From the slow and brooding start to the pumping, energetic finale, the songs takes the listener for a ride where he's never bored. Great song.
  23. Great atmosphere. This reminds me somewhat of Wolfgang Voigt/Gas, and that's a good thing. The repetitiveness isn't really a problem, since it is, in my opinion, actually something that is necessary to produce the kind of relaxing mood found in this remix. Nice work.
  24. I'm surprised that none of these have been posted yet
