  1. José definitely managed to nail the Loose Ends sound; 12 seconds into this remix, and I thought I was listening to LE's Hangin' on a string (Contemplating).
  2. Absolutely great piece of music. The whole style reminds me of some of the music in the very first GTA game, way back. The wah-wah guitars are great, the overwhelming guitar from 3:30 onwards is even better, and I really love the castanets (or whatever that is) used throughout the song, e.g. from 0:22 on.
  3. I absolutely love jazzy remixes, and this one is no exception. You really do capture the christmas atmosphere without losing the Mario Kart-esness. Very well done.
  4. I just wonder what kind of business model the new owners have in mind for 1up. If they kill off the (video) podcasts, all you're left with are reviews, event coverage etc, i.e. stuff you can find on hundreds of other video-gaming related sites, too. Also, no more Shane on podcasts? Damn shame, I really enjoyed his voice.
  5. Nice work, but there are some issues with this. As has been already pointed out, it is a bit repetitive. Maybe fleshing out the breakdown around 1:50 would have helped; leaving out the guitars completely and focusing on the synths. Some of the pace-changes are a bit weird, too, e.g. the one at 4:04.
  6. Yep. Wonderful song, very soothing, very atmospheric. However, I have to admit that I'm not really fond of the drop-out at 2:50 and the following minute; to me, it just sounds like a really drawn out ending. Nothing that'll make me stop listening to this remix, but I would have preferred the last minute to be a little livelier. Or simply shorter.
  7. If you want something more out there, check out some japanese ska bands like Muramasa, Gollbetty, Ore Ska Band, and Yum!Yum!Orange.
  8. Heh, and here I was, already thinking that you'd miss the 2008 release you were aiming for.
  9. Very nice drumwork (the breakdown at 2:40 is wicked). Not much of a fan of the vocals, though. They come in too late and feel tacked on. Furthermore, I like to understand what I'm listening to (if it is in a language I speak, that is), and in some places, the vocals are too distorted for my taste. Lastly, I don't need Alan Greenspan's name dropped in a Zelda remix. Really. However, considering that the vocals are there for only a few seconds, they aren't exactly a deal breaker, so I can live with it.
  10. DJP wasn't joking when he wrote about Badalamentine pads in the write-up; when the song started, the first thing that came to my mind was Twin Peaks. I love the chiptune section in this song, and the synth solo from 2:35 is pure bliss. Sixto's guitar work is nice as always, nothing less, but also nothing more. Nice one.
  11. I like how the song begins; very reminiscent of early-to-mid 90s trance. So we can expect more F-Zero remixes from you in the future? Good to hear.
  12. The crowd cheers are a nice addition. Just like some of the previous posters, I, too, have to say that the mastering here isn't exactly good. Everything sounds way too loud/distorted/compressed.
  13. Love the sound of the guitar, and the scratching breakdown is great. Though I wonder how well this version fits into the game (which I haven't played yet, lol PSN Europe).
  14. I caught the broadcast. Was a little surprised when "Here is where it ends" didn't get aired, since I had assumed it was part of the album. Or Beatdrop did play it, but my brain didn't register it.
  15. I can see (or rather hear) why this wasn't bathhouse-y enough for Capcom, but as a stand-alone track, this is pretty kickass. Ethno-electronica is always welcome, and the talkbox adds a certain weird, but funky element to it (and reminds me of Shpongle, which is always a good thing). Nice work.
  16. Dunno what you're loling about, but hey, it's all good if you're having your fun.
  17. I listened to this thing yesterday. Some okay tracks, some really good ones. So everything was fine and dandy... ...until I came to AnSo's rendition of the Credits Theme. Now, don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for you as a musician and as a member of the OCR community, but this remix of yours is absolutely fucking terrible. For me, it has nothing of the mood of the original, which happens to be one of my favourite VGM tunes of all times. Sorry man, but this is horrible. I'll shut up now and go listen to Rayza's wonderful remix of it.
  18. I'm not the biggest fan of solo piano remixes, and I'm not the biggest fan of CT songs either, simply because they're overused. However, I have to admit that this remix really surprised me. It's a wonderful song that flows beautifully. Unexpected, very nice work.
  19. I assume it's the same version OverCoat posted here some time ago?
  20. I remember this from the WIP board. You really nailed that 90's HHC sound; I recognize pretty much every single "instrument" you used in this remix. Wouldn't have felt out of place on any Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo album back then, hehe.
