  1. I don't think it's ever really established why Donald and The triplets are cousins, but I think it has something to do with that he is actually their grand-uncle. There's a lot of family tree stuff on wikipedia that I didn't really look at. I'll probably take some time to read it and see what the real deal is, but I do know that Scrooge is the "uncle" to both Donald and the triplets. Otherwise, thanks for the recommendations Polo and Dafydd. I'll tighten up the bio and add some details, and get you guys the revision as soon as I get back from work tonight.
  2. That just made my day. Good points all around. I'll wait and see what Polo has to say, and post a revision after that. Edit: Two things. 1. Launchpad is not related (by blood) to Scrooge. He's just his stalwart personal pilot. I remembered that from the cartoon, but I also went and checked just to be safe. The reason I didn't include him is because then I'd have to get into the rest of the cast of Ducktales, and that's a longer bio than I thought was necessary. 2. I was actually pondering whether I can delineate the triplets as one relative or whether they needed to be separately counted. I went for the first option on a coin toss, but I might change it to several to avoid confusion if necessary.
  3. Alright, well here's the rough draft. Should I add more, are there grammatically incorrect things? Rip it up guys, I'd expect no less. Scrooge McDuck The richest duck in the world, Scrooge McDuck is not one to be content with just that. Be it from competition with others or just plain ennui from being at the top, he is constantly on the lookout for new ways to make money. Not above adventuring, even for being as old as he is, Scrooge has explored countless famous locations in search of treasures, wealth, and fame. Scrooge’s first video game appearance is still fondly remembered among gamers, despite not having much of a plot beyond Scrooge hunting for treasure. He hasn’t appeared in many games since then, beyond the sequel to the first Ducktales game. His most notable recent appearance was in Kingdom Hearts 2, where he is said to have helped King Mickey develop the space transit system which links the worlds together. In that game he also has a fondness for sea salt ice cream. While Scrooge McDuck may seem like a lonely old miser, he actually has two famous relations. He is the uncle to both Donald Duck and, more eminently, the triplets Huey, Louie, and Dewey. His relationship to all of his nephews has softened quite a bit over time, as they have gone on adventures together.
  4. Working on a bio for Scrooge McDuck. Work is getting in the way, but I'll upload the rough draft tonight if anyone wants to give me some feedback on it. Edit: Actually, a quick question. Should I post it here for feedback, or PM it for approval? And if the latter, to who does it get sent to?
  5. End of the year painting project for stage crafting class. The drapes didn't turn out how I expected, but I like the window sill and the outside. For perspective, the piece of plywood I was painting on was about 5'6"
  6. Rough sketch for a postcard art. Ended up doing in colored pencil, but I stupidly forgot to get a picture of it before it got sent off.
  7. You've all seen my tiles for the OCR tile project, if not: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=19642 but here's some other stuff I've done: Art was by another guy, I did the coloring. He also did his own coloring later with shading, which looked cool. I still need to do the shading someday. Done with photoshop. Did this one for the "Who's Kirby been eating?" thread way back when. Did this one in pencil first, then photoshop for the color. I made this for a Steampunk costume party, it still needs to be finished.
  8. Well, like I said, they'll probably end up having to tweak it a little bit, but I still agree with the intention overall.
  9. I would think, and it might take some tweaking if that's the case to start out with, that they would strive to be more balancing then that. It sounded to me like what they were trying to do was make it so that people that played for seven hours a week would get as many drops as people that played more without putting a huge handicap on those that play the game more often. Edit: The gist being that if you're playing more than the amount of time that you have allotted to rolls, you're not necessarily going to get more stuff that way. I guess this hurts people who are just playing the game for drops, but it sounds like a more level playing field for everyone involved so that more people have a reasonable chance at getting cool stuff.
  10. I like this idea a lot. Not that I had anything against idlers, but at least it means that I can now get items without having to stay on for an oppressively long time just for a fair percentage roll. I wonder how it will fair in the long run though.
  11. Some of my favorites from the 80s include: Oingo Boingo: Dead Man's Party Just Another Day The entire "Good for your Soul" album A-HA: Take on Me The Sun Always Shines on TV Train of Thought R.E.M.: Radio Free Europe Losing My Religion Orange Crush Various: Lunatic Fringe- Red Rider Men Without Shame- Phantom, Rocker, and Slick (This one is harder to find though) Bottom Line- Big Audio Dynamite Der Kommissar- After the Fire Artists that had overall good stuff: Thomas Dolby Pet Shop Boys Molly Hatchet Peter Gabriel Tears for Fears ELO (Most of their good stuff is actually from the 70's though) There's a lot more, but those are some of my top picks just looking through the music I have on playlists and stuff. Despite this though, I would still argue that Guns N' Roses "Appetite for Destruction" is still the best album of that decade, and beats out a lot of 90's albums too.
  12. That's fair enough, I think I can see where you're coming from on that. You are entitled to your own preferences, and I won't take offense if it didn't catch your interest. In fact, if anything, that's probably an indicator that I dropped the ball early on and failed to really carry the story through to the end. Thanks for being honest, I appreciate it.
  13. I would actually like a bit more critique, not just from Jam but from anybody that wants to give me some. I will, in turn, give my own critique to anyone that wants some on theirs. I may just do the micro-critique thing here too, as that would be the fair thing to do.
  14. I've actually been thinking about a strategy game style, similar to Fire Emblem myself.
  15. The two things that interest me about doing this Megaman style are: 1.)What kind of powers does OCR-tan get from the defeated bosses? 2.)How do these powers work against other bosses/final boss? I really like the idea of having OCR-tan start out as a basic remix style and her gaining new layers of musical talent as she progresses, but at the same time, should they tie in to way to defeat the other bosses as well? For instance, if we go with The Queue tortoise, obviously his power is going to be something like a slow down attack. What if the power she gets from him is similar to this concept, but applied musically like a beat change or drop? I had some ideas about how her powers could work if we wanted to go with the music idea, but I'm sure they'll need some balancing. Queue Tortoise: Time slow (beat change or drop) Trolling Vulture: Flame out (Shredding metal guitar) Lawless Hyena: Hater's rage (Not sure) Midi-rip Chimpanze: Uninspired Copy-Paste (Chiptune Callback) Plagiarizing Platypus: Power theft (Subtle Tribute) Baudline Badger: Emergency Expenses (Excellent samples)
  16. Once again, Sephfire and James Portnow deliver some provocative alternatives to an important issue. I always enjoy these videos, and this one in particular struck my fancy because I've been playing a lot of moral choice heavy games like Mass Effect and Fallout 3. It's frustrating when you're faced with choices you know, in the end, don't really matter much given that your character is still going to be considered a Paragon despite suddenly deciding to raze a village or let some villager die. Now if I could just come up with a cool issue for you guys to talk about that you haven't already covered yet...
  17. You beat me to the punch sir. Happy birthday to the perfecter of our unofficial-offical mascot, and still one of the most talented non-music artists on the site.
  18. I support this endeavor. If you need help with writing-type stuff, I'd be willing to help.
  19. Impressive work Cheeseball. I'm conceptualizing a few right now, but number one on my list is Wily Symphonic by Blue Nocturne.
  20. Wow, I've never been accused of hacking before today. It wouldn't have been so momentous except the guy went on to call me a trisexual and then rage quit, which I found extremely humorous. Very interesting people on the server. Also, kind of a noobish question, but about how often am I supposed to be playing before I get random hat drops? A lot of people seem to be getting them fairly regularly when I'm on, but I have yet to get one at all. The best I've gotten so far was two item drops in one day, but usually it's closer to every three or four days. I don't feel like idling (seems kind of cheap), but I'd like to know if I'm playing enough to make a random hat drop a possibility or if I should just not worry about it.
  21. My votes have been cast. Good submissions all the way around guys, I enjoyed all of them.
  22. I loved this prank, even though I figured it out pretty quickly when reading the description. It was a lot of fun to play along with as well, even though obviously some people took the whole thing way too far (getting yourself banned over a prank is pretty ridiculous.) I really liked the base tracks for these songs though, they were fun to tool around with. Also, I would have thought that the lyrics in the songs were a pretty big clue the whole thing was a joke, but I guess not. Good job guys.
  23. I've been sitting here all day using the ReMixanator to create the best mixes possible and drinking coffee. I think I can only see one problem with this whole thing overall. I really think that what it needs is more reverb options. I cannot get enough of that reverb sound, personally I'd love to see a heavy reverb option at some point, so I can make my Ice Cap Mix the absolute best it can possibly be. In fact, I wouldn't complain if all the base tracks were just full of reverb to begin with, which would clear up coding for future options like adding additional drum tracks. Honestly, I think the old remixers are just jealous that some of us up and coming artists finally have access to the kind of talent that they wasted years studying and practicing to acquire. Who needs all that skill anyways? I've got better things to do with my time like playing Team Fortress 2 all day.
  24. Heck yeah. Finally, I can be a remixer instead of just a lowly forum poster. I can't wait to get all the fame and recognition I always wanted. Hooray for the remixinator!
  25. I plan to work this into a longer piece, but for the purposes of the competition I tweaked it into a shorter story. Thanks for the slight deadline extension Halcyon.
