  1. I mean the standard battle theme (named 'Battle 1' - very original name )
  2. This is great! A Marble Zone remix... with ATB inspiration??? Pure awesomeness!!! Well... I'm also just a listener, and I'll try to help somehow: - You took too long to "get the melody flowing"... maybe a little shorter introduction - I can't recall the song, but the 1:04-1:32 piece is almost straight from ATB, isn't it? - If you have been using the Marble tune before 2:00, it was really subtle... I guess you should use the source more constantly, with different degrees - Don't know exactly how, but the remix could get more "dance-like"... a more involving melody and such (you know what I mean ) For now, that's what I can say. If you want inspiration and also some great style examples, listen to 'let u go' and most of all 'hold you'... I LOVE this one! Their best song, IMO! Keep it up! This mix can't go wrong!
  3. The battle theme seems an obvious call... OCR needs a thrilling, bombastic mix of it!
  4. Briefly, I never liked Schala's theme and neither any remix of it. However, yours got some interesting feeling... maybe with further development I might like it! =) But your ending (2:40-) is really bad... I'm just a listener, and I could notice it was off-key, which I (guess I) couldn't before.
  5. In fact it does, but not a nice one, IMO. If there's something that pisses me off is being immerse in a song, which suddenly gets chopped off.
  6. Nice man! Very good so far! Only two things I don't liked: - 0:17-0:22 : the "transpose" variations were nice, but not these ones, IMHO - the ending : simply stop playing is not an ending for me... give it a real conclusion If you had a little more inspiration, a slightly longer mix would be good. Keep it up!
  7. You must be kidding... this can't be the original! Yours sounds a bit better after listening this... because, IMHO, it... well... *S*U*C*K*S*!!! I played som, but I don't remembered this thing... I think the game focused my attention (good). As for now, keep it going if you want, because I'd say to choose another source tune!
  8. First of all, take some to listen to some of the remixes on OCR to get a grab o the style... I don't know if you listen to OC remixes for some time or not. Pick some acclaimed mixes from nice remixers... like zircon, DarkeSword, Blue Magic, djpretzel, sephfire, snappleman... just to mention a few. You probably like FF7 (aeris...), so I give you some personal suggestions: http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR00586/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01557/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR00956/ Some other good mixes (from zircon): http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01219/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01450/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01558/ About your mix, until you try some rework over it, some things I could say: - 0:35-1:38 - same beat/rythm throughout, with some additions each one at a time... it was boring - 1:58-2:06 - harmony missing (is that it?) - 2:55-3:36 - a style quite different from the rest of the mix... I'm not sure if it fits That's it! Try enhancements little by little, and keep asking for feedback!
  9. I'll be quite straight... OUCH! Too much high sounds (these steel pipes or something), and moreover, that echoing voice was terribly annoying! I don't remember the source tune, couldn't recall it through this, and anyway I was so disturbed I haven't even thought about it. It may be a exotic style, but I hated it! Sorry!
  10. Welcome to OCR! Well... I'll try to give some of my impressions: - Personally I don't like the 8-bit style of many instruments/samples/whatever-you-guys-call-them you use... more realistic ones are much better, IMHO - Less reverb seems a nice idea - I can't recall exactly the original tune, but it seems that you hadn't performed much arrangements over it; make sure you had, otherwise it won't be accepted, no matter how good is your remix That's what I'm able to say. Wait for some tips to work over!
  11. "Our service temporarily limits the work due to technical problems". Bah! Host it somewhere else. Anyway, IMO a good song to be remixed in this game is the title one... never heard the GG version but the genesis one rocked! Same for the title song for Ecco 1, if you ask me!
  12. I wish I could! I don't know a damn about remixing... I just gave you my impressions, that's the best an ordinary listener could do! But I'll try to refine a bit... at least point out what I felt: - the one starting at 0:08 - I couldn't like it; it's like it don't fit in the song, which is supposed to be at least a bit creepy or mysterious - the ones starting at 1:00 and 1:03 - sounds like they came straight from the original song; try some richer, more sounding ones But you're in the right track! I feel the OCR style in this mix already!
  13. I also love this track! =D But infortunately I haven't liked much any of the existing remixes... none of them are up to the original song, IMHO. I know it's unlikely, but I'd like another remix of it! Also love eletronic music, but I feel that's not the right style for this song! Remixers welcome!
  14. This is unusual... I guess I liked this mix much less than everybody around! =/ As a whole, it got potential, but as it is now, it sounds more like a pack of remixing ideas glued together. You need more harmony and transition between the different parts of it. Probably it's intentional and it's just me that don't like this style. BTW, I love Cid theme. Anyway, I'll try to give some comments: (1) 0:00-0:39 - Weird drums, also give them some variation (2) 0:40-0:49 - I liked this (3) 0:50-1:10 - Some good arrangements used in here (4) 1:11-1:30 - It feels like out of place... (I don't liked much anyway) (5) 1:31-2:10 - Don't know exactly what to say; maybe with some development could be nice (6) 2:11-2:22 - Yuck! (7) 2:23-3:03 - With a better atmosphere this would be great (8 ) 3:04-3:14 - What? (9) 3:15-3:47 - Again, give some extra development in here (10) 3:48-4:42 - I think the same as (5) (11) 4:43-5:12 - (2)+(3) =) Sorry for being so generic... I can't do better than that! I hope I was helpful! Till the next version!
  15. I liked this one too... but I must agree that this is starting to get a bit too far away from the original (it got quite beyond the point around 0:56). Try to control your composer self just a bit more Oh! And, what about the longer wip? =) Nice work so far!
  16. *ressurecting thread from ashes* Hello again everybody! I wanted to hear some news from Mute... so long time since the last post, so many times I've heard this remix... Have you stubmitted this? I've never seen it on 'to be judged' topic, and I don't think you are thinking of new updates, given what you've posted here! hehe It have been more than six months already! Send us a signal! =P
  17. This sounds somehow weird, but it's a nice beginning! I think some better instruments and (I guess) harmony between them will have a nice outcome. Try a longer WIP... so far it wasn't enough to hear your arrangements on the original song. BTW, welcome to OCR!
  18. Nice start! Give it some more development, please! =)
  19. I don't remember the source, and neither appreciate it that much... =P but try some better samples, it could get a lot more attractive
  20. A remix that I downloaded with no expectations and... WOW! This is awesome! I absolutely loved it!
  21. Excellent mix, so pleasant and relaxing! A must for CC OST lovers!
  22. What about hosting the WIP somewhere, like GooglePages or rapidshare?
  23. Overlooked? DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! It's far too good to be junked in there! This one MUST be on OCR! No other options! Please, wynd! Refine and resubmit! *begging* =D
