  1. Because I worked for a year in my gap year and wasted all my savings! I have more... they're just uber cheap and not worth the space to bring. editprophetsniped: lol well i only have my crappy macbook camera which r balls. Also yeah, the guitar corner is my friend :3.
  2. Ok as promised, some wide lens action: (Man my house mates camera is ludicrous, the pic he gave me was 3000x2000.)
  3. It would be pretty awesome to have a track on one of those games . If you're interested I could probably be persuaded to separate the tracks on omnislash: http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01655/ It would probably be very difficult due to the synth parts/solo's though.
  4. I've never (properly) played xenogears, dkc2, wild arms, lufia2, megaman9, nights, radical dreamers or either of the tales. I'm just a massive project whore.
  5. I think you're forgetting that sometimes "bad" quality can actually be enjoyable. Take the soundtrack to Fallout 3; mostly 40/50s music. The recording quality adds a great character and maintains the cohesive feel of the ost as a whole. The old music in fallout 3 is what made it stand out to me as a whole. eg. In other words technical quality ain't everything, and it isn't even always wanted. Why do you think people put digital music through tape reels? It sure isn't so that they have to resample and dither it all again loosing technical quality, its for the feel and the sound.
  6. Hah, I have like 3 minutes done on my track in one day !
  7. Ultros is the best fishy of them all :D. I do have a mandolin so but I haven't been bothered to learn much on it but that would be epic to do sometime :D.

  8. This is a very clever arrangement. Some very nice work done on the rhythm of the melody and the dabs of new harmony fit nicely. Nothin' wrong with a bit of self indulgence in jazz. Also enjoyed the inclusion of the underworld theme. The recording quality including the random dudes talking just add to the charm of a big band, it feels like you're there watching it there in a small cosy club. Nice stuff all around and look forward to more subs from you guys. 1-UP
  9. Well deadlines never really worked for us :/ but now the all the tracks are taken (the latest few by people who generally work ridiculously fast) I really see no reason we can't all be done by new year. I'm not making that official unless we're literally waiting on people.
  10. There are talks atm addressing the (admittedly old) quality rules, however: The reason FLAC won't be brought in officially (although there is a thread where someone is organizing a lossless remixes site which is fine) is because its a hella lot more bandwidth storing files that are essentially lost on everyone but proper audiophiles. In economic terms, demand will never be high enough for the cost of supply to justify it. The site can only just stay free due to the donations we get from that yearly drive BGC started, throw in FLAC and this site might not be so free.
  11. Alright if I combine 2 tracks? I enjoy the randomness of both: A Moment of Tension Battle Zeik I'm feeling some major dream theater style potential here.
  12. (I was trying to avoid disclosing that I'm currently drunk. Tomorrow.)
  13. lol, I suppose that's fair. I'll pick one tomorrow . Is that an official claim? That would make the project almost full . Alas, I'm not the project whore I once was.
  14. Can't say I've tried many others but AD does the job fine for me. Just try not to rely on the presets as they tend to overuse the (rather poor) internal compression and also spend some time messing with the ratio of close mic:room:overheads for different sounds. It's all too easy to fall into the "AD" sound, anyone who uses it will find it very easy to call you out on it .
  15. I'm playing FF9 through with my gf. I played shadow of the colossus for the first time with my mate taking turns, and that was fun, mainly due to how awesome that game was. It's aight as long as you both enjoy the game enough to watch it, and it can be quite funny at times.
  16. My new digs in appalling cell phone quality, better quality coming soon (my housemate is a photography enthusiast): That monitor is simultaneously connected to my macbook, my gaming pc, my ps2 and my haxbox tree-sitty, whatever I want to use it for. I also have my beloved cake poster for inspiration. Stuff of note: Korg Nanokey Chair is blocking your view of Guitar RigKontrol Keyboard is blocking your view of Tascam US144 soundcard My latest guitar on the right, Ibanez AJD91-c (chocobolo) Closeup:
  17. I first saw the site when it was blue but I didn't really hang around long enough to notice it had a community. I got marched back in here by my friend in summer 2006 and joined the forum proper. I've been rejecting your bad techno since June 2008.
  18. Uh, I would've thought it's pretty obvious that anime has a completely different feel and demeanor from live action in any genre. Like any animation, it allows you to exaggerate and dramatize the simplest of things. Also Miname Ke is the only one of those things I listed that I'd describe as slice-of-life. The others have at least some sci-fi or fantasy elements core to their story, and Ghibli is as fantasy as it gets. Basically I'm just asking for anything with some funny moments that isn't too serious.
  19. So I enjoy a few types of anime, but I'm generally drawn to the lighter situational type series with kinda silly humour. For example the most recent thing I watched was Minami-Ke; I also enjoyed Full Metal Panic (can't stand Alchemist), Chobits, Great Teacher Onizuka , that type of thing. Also a huge Studio Ghibli fan. Can anyone recommend any other series I might enjoy based on those?
  20. To be fair, I think a lot of this projects success has to do with avaris joining because he's on so many other projects and he offered to help run it very early. That probably helped draw in some initial people. I think any project from any noob can succeed as long as you find someone more well known to help you get it going. You never know who might've had the same idea for a project. Get at least 3-4 people interested and on it before you even make a thread, srsly.
  21. Protip: DarkeSword is a bad choice of person to call a pretentious ass.
  22. Pleased to welcome halc to the project on the title theme (I was doing it but I think his style would suit that track better then mine ). Check out his recent ReMix here: http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01902/
