Aw, . Btw if you want some cheeky guitar (any style) for either of 'em, it's what I'm here for. That goes for all of you on the project. I have proper acoustic facilities now also.
-
I really didn't want anyone to pressure you into it but if you want my honest opinion: It's genuinely worth the quality of the project to wait for you . I think we're talkin something like six months before DKC2 has come out and whatever is after it would be allowed to (cause there's about 3 months between them). So the absolutely earliest earliest possible time it would be needed is towards the end of april; and that's a best case scenario depending on which projects finish first. If we miss that we're talking July etc. I'm happy to let you back on with no set deadline as long as you bear in mind that those kinda time frames could end up happening if we're doing really well but we'll have to see if that happens or not. Up to you dude.

I have started my track properly btw k-wix. I should have something cool to show you in not too long.

OverClocked ReMix Design ?'s and Issues
Fishy replied to Liontamer's topic in Site Issues & Feedback
I have not been getting email notifications when I get pms for a few weeks now. It's all set up correctly still, right boxes ticked etc and I didn't change anything recently that might have caused it. My email is also listed correctly. Can't think of any reason why it's not working. -
OCR01917 - Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker "First Time on Outset"
Fishy replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Good stuff man, very chirpy. I enjoyed the upbeat feel the wind waker gave and this sums it up great. Keep it coming. -
bLiNd had it for a few weeks.

I think that Logic Studio is worth it. You get tons more sounds/samples/loops and an awesome reverb unit (Sound Designer) amongst other things. Mainstage is fun to mess with if you play keyboards - layering sounds etc - but I never really use the other thing that I can't even remember the name of. I'm sure its useful if you do video stuff.

This pleases me. Oh and ty for the radio play :3. About time someone heard that track.

1. recruiting Official & Unofficial Arrangement Projects (Tracking)
Fishy replied to Bahamut's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
Super Mario 64 now has two open track as someone had to drop out. -
It really depends on the source and how diluted the remix is. If its a fairly conservative mix from a game I know like any FF games or whatever, I can probably vote on that in about as long as the track is. There was a recent one where it took me almost two hours just to break down where parts of the song were used because it was so liberal. It's different each time basically.
-
Yeah, I really doubt we're talking 2011 for this one. Got several more tracks very near. Unfortuantely bLiNd had to drop out for personal reasons, but we're still moving forward nicely atm. I've heard 4 sizeable wips that aren't on the forum in the last 2 weeks or so, and I've almost finished my track .

Actually that September thing is just in the public section. I wouldn't call the private section thriving but there is some. There would be a lot more if there wasn't something wrong with them that meant people can't join them. Basically send them to me. I'll sort out a new forum soon.

OCR01946 - *YES* Final Fantasy 6 'A World of Decisions' *RESUB*
Fishy replied to Liontamer's topic in Judges Decisions
What a fitting title for this decision thread. Sorry for latesness; I did have a look at this before, I was waiting on the discussion about the breakdown to pan out. I agree with jimmy/andy on this. I think some of the breakdowns are a little harsh on what is/isn't arrangement. It flows very well between fairly identifiable motifs. Listening to it, the first time I could hear something I would take as being not related/interpretive padding at all was at 1:30 or so. It gets a a bit more liberal, but there's plenty of preludey treatment etc. I think it's a lot more related then credit is given. My housemate was listening through the hall and he picked up on what it was easily (also he said heard a bit of something from FF4 but I'm not sure I agreed). Production is fine obviously. Bon. YES -
Thank you kindly, quite proud of it. Still saying yes btw, screw y'all. (<3 u really)

Interesting article, with many good points. As someone who might end up mastering as part of his job I've always wondered how to approach the war. I definitely agree with this guy that compression should be an end, as opposed to a means to an end (eg you should use it to get a compressed sound if you want it, as opposed to doing it with the goal to make it louder with the consequence of it sounding compressed). But there are a couple of holes in there as many comments at the bottom pointed out with no real answer. There are two many ways people want to listen to music at the moment, without a single standard there is no right answer, not everyone uses replay gain etc. Should I ever get around to being in a band/releasing solo crap; I would probably release two mixes and let the buyer choose. A compressed master can be much better in the car (until we all have silent hydrogen cell powered cars lol) but the audiophile in me always appreciates a master with the sound as opposed to volume at the focus.

Fishy replied to Bahamut's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
Naw mine's going pretty well now. We've got 5 finished and most of the songs with wips are very far along. Plus bLiNd just claimed everything. -
Album Project: The Darkness and the Light (Tentative) - ReMixers ahoy!
Fishy replied to Bahamut's topic in General Discussion
So I spoke to bLiNd, put me down on meridian dance. I'll choose a track for myself too soon. -
Both the TJ&E's are utterly awesome but they really are different genres; tough to compare them. I still lean towards the first one as long as I have a friend to play it with.

I think that mix is a good example of someone like nutritious when he was getting started if he was RAWK! We're so used to hearing rock nearing professional production from people like sixto. That is still a pretty good amateur shot at rock probably only a bit "flimsy" as you say because he can't afford proper guitar recording equiptment/expensive amps for better tone. Like I said in my vote; it's not perfect but that's no reason to reject it.

Just found out about brawl+, can't wait to try it out. From the vids I've seen it looks way more fun. It's fast, but you don't need to learn to wavedash etc like in melee to learn the metagame. Sounds nice.

I can totally understand these NO's, but I'm stickin' to ma guns here. Its probably just because I found so many slight references consistently present to me it now feels like lots of source. Just wanted to say that the 2:24 part was so epic. If you do end up resubing this, use that part as the main recurring theme! It would make it loads more identifiable and it is easily the most fun bit of the track.

I am indeed using creatures. They're definitely not flat monitors, but I've mixed everything I've done through them and my proper AKG headphones and just made sure to test it on a whole bunch of other things to be sure. They're a hella lot better then normal PC speakers but I would still recommend proper monitors if budget allows. I'm planning on getting some soon. And yeah <3 valve store, I have an aperture mug too .

Break it down! 0:00-0:14 is kinda 0:22-0:32 from underwater chords in minor 0:39-55 is 0:05-0:10 from underwater melody massively stretched out, each note lasts about 4x longer, it is there 0:58-1:20 is the same again 1:20-1:41 is from 2:10-2:23 chords in DireDireDocks 1:51-2:03 has a very loose version of the melody 0:22-0:32 from before as well as 0:22-0:32 from dirediredocks melody in the piano part 2:13-2:24 is the extended 0:22-0:32 from underwater melody again 2:24-2:46 is same as above at normal speed, which sounds epic 2:46-2:57 is the section at 0:32 from underwater 2:57-3:17 is the part from 0:22 spaced out again 3:27-3:39 is copypasta same as 1:20 3:49-4:00 is the part from 0:22 spaced out again 4:08-4:09 is the underworld Someone please check/confirm! The toad theme that i heard was so ridiculously brief/hidden it wasn't worth mentioning. Didn't hear much star theme. He might have used the chords as a basis for modulating the riff is my best guess. I count a total of 3:03 out of 4:10, but some of that is a bit tenuous. Imo its liberal but fine overall. Production was pretty sweet in general. Nice drum sequencing, kept the groove fairly interesting throughout. gg next map. YES

Much source love. The arrangement is alright, I feel like the intro has way more potential that went unused and the track is so short already probably would've helped you but its technically long enough and there's nothing really wrong with it as it is. Production is a bit rough, but everything is audible and loud enough. Not a fan of the guitar tone (although the clean one is nice), but the playing is generally capable, could be tighter. I get a lot of "good, but not great" feelings from this but nothing outright bad/weird. Got some slight tuning issues around I think, subtle but it shows during the harmonies a bit. It may be more an intonation issue though, might wanna check that out in future. Part of me wants to say no because you could clearly do a much longer and more rounded arrangement, but that's a silly reason to no something that is just about fine as it is, so instead I want you to print this picture off and put it on your wall to remind you to rock out for longer next time: Don't disappoint me. YES
