But...I wanted to be Natalie Portman ):
-
You're honestly digging your own hole here.
-
What we're getting at is that no guy would flip their shit if they got casted as, say, Natalie Portman either, so there's no reason to QQ as much as you do.
-
This thread actually became funny now, though.
-
Meh indeed.
-
But it's 30 seconds short, and it's also a direct cover, there's really nothing to say short of production crits.

finished Diablo - Tristram Village

This version actually has weaker production than the original, and it simplifies the arrangement a lot. First two minutes are extremely repetitive and there's like zero development. Strings are sequenced pretty poorly. Also why is your face on every video. -
It's a scalar run, not arpeggio's.
-
What a great OST. Nintendo really should start using live instruments in all their games.
-
When the source has better production than your mix, you might be doing something wrong. The sample quality is really poor, especially the violin is downright painful. Everything is also really quiet, dry and upfront. It sounds like you just imported the midi, applied some samples, and exported it as mp3 without really doing anything else with it.

You have high quality samples, but they aren't necessarily sequenced in the most pleasant way. Arrangement is somewhat effective and haunting, though pretty simplistic, especially compared to the original. Some jarring transitions here and there. It does get quite repetitive eventually, as the mix doesn't seem to be moving anywhere or building up to anything. Dynamics are very important in orchestral arrangements, which is related to my biggest issue with this mix. The main problem with this is the mixing. Holy crap. I know youtube compression can be a bitch but that's nowhere near the main culprit here, especially considering the arrangements on your website seem to suffer from the same issues. Aside from the intro, the song seems to almost constantly be on the same dynamic level, and everything feels very cramped and overcompressed, despite not even being that loud. It's as if you slapped a limiter with a high ratio/low threshold on the master track. Panning and sterio field seems pretty solid. Get your mixing sorted out; turn everything down, remove any compressors and limiters, and start from the ground up. -

Don't let him scare you away, you should be fine as long as you don't set up camp right next to the spawn (as if that's possible anyway). Edit: 2 days of work and the entire ground floor of Mr. Bottle Rocket's Creeper Temple has now been cleared.

If you can't mooch diamond tools off of someone it's probably best to do stuff in this order: - Punch a tree until you get wood. (doh ho ho) - Turn the wood into planks. - Turn the planks into a bunch of sticks and a workbench. - Make yourself some wooden tools (pickaxe, shovel, etc.) - Find a cave with coal near the entrance, make a bunch of torches and upgrade your tools to stone. - If the cave is deep enough you will find some iron, make a smelting oven, and smelt some iron ingots. - With an iron pickaxe you can mine everything except obsidian. - If you get lucky and the cave is deep enough you'll come across diamond. -> diamond tools.

It's in the underground temple beneath Mr. Bottle Rocket's house. Er goddamnit double post, sorry.

How do you place actual rock (not cobblestone)?

I still disagree with the notion that being able to deny creeps is a bad thing. Nobody is FORCING you to deny, and on a casual level, many people will probably be too lazy to deny everything anyway. Besides, if you focus on denying, you also end up neglecting your own last hitting so you might end up underfarmed as well. While it obviously comes down to whether or not you find it 'irritating', which honestly is just personal preference, I think it's hard to deny that it adds some much needed variation to the laning, which is generally considered the most boring part of the game anyway.
-
Creep Denial is a relatively simple way of controlling the location where the creeps will clash in your lane (along with techniques that are much more 'advanced', like pulling neutrals into your lane). I'm not trying to sound like a pro here or anything, but it's seriously considered one of the basic techniques in HoN, especially compared to stuff like stacking/pulling etc. I think removing it would make the laning phase a lot more boring, and it would screw over some heroes that are already mediocre anyway (Bloodseeker).

Let's just say I made a pretty significant start on building my floating palace.
-
Same here, I just figured it was the games way of telling me that I had been playing too much.
-
I read the article. Honestly it doesn't even matter that it's essentially a remake. Giving it the typical Valve treatment with stuff like is really all that's needed imo. HoN falls woefully short when it comes to matchmaking, so I'm hoping that Valve can improve on that.
-
Will be getting this for sure. Also HoN is for like 90% the same game so if you didn't like that there's really no point in even trying this game. Also, Bleck, about http://icefrogtruth.blogspot.com/ Anything with 'Truth' in the name is to be instantly regarded as bunk.

Bought this today, account name Desumetaru. I'm gonna mess around with it a bit.

I'm considering going this time pretty seriously. I have more than enough money for the trip, and the date it falls on is pretty favorable for me. On the other hand, I am pretty damn oblivious as to where it all goes down, how I'd get there from the airport, where I'd find some accomodations, etc, etc.
-
aw, shucks, you guys :3
