  1. *puts on sunglasses* Would be even funnier if it were David Caruso though.
  2. Scouting is your friend. If you scout out your opponent and see that he's got 2 gateways up already, you can tell that he'll probably go for a quick zealot attack, as opposed to teching to DTs/templars/whatever. Depending on the circumstances, you should respond by either getting an academy and getting a bunch of firebats to guard your chokepoint, or keep on teching like you'd normally do and get a few vultures (which do quite well against zealots). Once you shrug off the initial rush, you should send your vultures to harass his supply lines, while you tech to tanks, set up another factory etc. He should soon be overwhelmed since he put most of his money on the initial zealot rush.
  3. Why, hello there, Christian standards, what are you doing here? Oh I see, trying to get imposed on a secular website?
  4. Haha, please don't overestimate me. I'm alright at micro and I generally get my build up quite fast, but I have trouble looking at the big picture of stuff and adapting my strategies to my opponents. If it's any consolation, I've lost to Neko, Lord Obsidious and garian in practice matches.
  5. (not addressed to anyone in particular) Geez. Seriously? Ever heard of the saying "Give 'em a finger, they'll take the whole hand"? Valve is doing everyone an incredible favor by adding absolutely free content to their games after they're released. In that respect they're one of the best game dev companies out there IMO. They have absolutely no obligation to add content, and I'd wager they really don't get THAT much extra revenue doing so. Again, adding DLC is NOT an industry standard, it's a luxury. It's obvious TF2 is getting the most out of it because I'm pretty sure it's the most popular and most played out of their games at the moment. This does not mean Valve can afford to make such content-filled updates for EVERY game on a regular basis. Imagine for a moment if Valve didn't do DLC at all. Would you be whining about them announcing L4D2 now?
  6. The #ocremix IRC channel just exploded, as if a million voices nerdgasmed and were suddenly silenced. Yes I know I used that joke before. This looks goddamn amazing, totally made up for the mediocre rest of the presentation.
  7. I still don't understand how everybody feels that they're ENTITLED to get DLC. Sure, it's Valve we're talking about, so great support post-release can be expected, but in case this doesn't happen you shouldn't be complaining about it. DLC isn't an industry standard yet; plenty of companies release a game and then never add content. At least L4D got one DLC package, you should be happy about that.
  8. Also, please, if anyone is up for a practice 1v1 match against me (Terran), I'm idling in channel ocr on US east, I really need the practice.
  9. http://rockify.net/zdd/APMDetector.rar Just run the executable, then run starcraft and press alt+z at the start of the match to start up the counter. I'm not a zerg player at all, but I think hydras are generally a favorable matchup against goons. Most of the pro ZvP matches seem to go with a combination of lots of hydras and lurkers against goons, zealots and templars. I guess it mostly comes down to whoever has the better micro/macro at that point. The comp plays completely differently from a human player though, 9 out of 10 times he'll go for a 2gateway zealot rush so you often need to get up some early defenses even when you're aiming for a fast expansion or fast tech build.
  10. Just measured my APM (Actions per minute). 107 average, bitches! Yes I know this isn't even close to average
  11. I sort of have vacation now so I can basically play whenever (unless I'm asleep), I'm Tensei on battle.net US east.
  12. God, I'm so excited for this. I'm still really out of practice, though, so if anyone else feels like sharpening up their ZvT, PvT or TvT against me, I'd LOVE to do some practice matches.
  13. Thanks for getting the joke.
  14. I agree, can't you for a moment stop to consider the possibility of ocremix being created through Intelligent Design? Seems at least as valid as this so-called 'evolution'
  15. I'm always a demo. Not the most consistent player but generally in the upper half of the score list with about 2 kills per death on average, not particularly biased towards either attack or defense.
  16. I'm all for trying non-conventional classes in scrim, especially if you're good at spy or just enjoy playing it, I was just trying to clear up the apparent misunderstanding that certain classes are 'banned'.
  17. You can fool yourself that you're breaking the mold, but I advise against picking engie and spy no matter what. I usually have little problems taking out sentries by myself, the only time it becomes problematic is when there are multiple ones overlooking the same spot with a substantial portion of the enemy team turtling and no medic to ubercharge me. If we're talking small, organized teams of 6 people, a single sentry will get rolled constantly before you're even aware of it. Same about spy: on such small teams, your disguises are even less useful and people will be looking everywhere for scouts so the chances of you getting in even a single backstab are slim at best. The spies role of taking out the medic is generally effectively replaced by the two scouts. As for pyro: maybe if you're REALLY REALLY good with the airblast. You'll be facing soldiers and demomen most of the time. Soldiers really aren't a favorable matchup for any pyro and you need to get in close to do damage. Again, the pyro's role of attacking of laying ambushes is effectively taken over by the scouts. I'm not saying don't pick these classes, I'm saying that there's a somewhat logical reasoning behind their lack of effectiveness in 6v6. It's not like they just went and arbitrarily ruled out certain classes.
  18. gee gee gee gee baby baby you know, 25 is REALLY old.
  19. I think we might as well organize like a tourney or something, since we have quite a lot of people who are interested in scrimming anyway, we could just make several teams comprised of OCR regulars and have a go at it.
  20. Part 1: Part 2: Time for another fascinating match! Watch this, and don't spoil it for yourself by reading the comments. It's both hilarious and awesome (and inventive). Skip to about 8:00 in the first vid if you don't want to watch the whole match.
  21. I think it's pretty obvious from this thread that no prize is required to get sufficient people to participate.
