  1. You should be good to go, all my posted remixes have been done on a 1.7 Ghz lappy with 512 mb ram and a 30 gig HD.
  2. There's an (arguably inaccurate) generalization that modern Asian, and in particular Japanese music (be it pop or rock or whatever), places a greater emphasis on melody than lyrical content when compared to Western music. Generally, anything with a catchier melody than 'usual' might be perceived as Japanese. Now in VGM, I think this stereotype kind of prevails: if you compare JRPGs against Western RPGs, the Western RPG will often have a big orchestral soundtrack that places more emphasis on moods, with maybe one clear leitmotif (Elder Scrolls theme anyone?) against a much more varied (depending on the setting) selection of music you tend to find in JRPGs, which tend to have tons of memorable tracks, if only for the main melody. Finally, I notice there's often a certain tendency in Japanese music that I call 'maximalism'. I.e. they start with a rock track, then they might add some synths, and hey, why not an entire orchestra, whereas Western music will often stick to one genre (though there are fortunately tons of exceptions). Now I think as for your music, I think the idea that it's 'too Japanese' is caused by the fact that it's both hard to categorize within a single genre, but it also places a great emphasis on melody. If the music were to be more 'Western', it'd probably be simpler and more atmospheric. Either way, I think the complaint is rather silly.
  3. My enjoyment of this game is entirely contingent on whether or not the teams are balanced perfectly, obviously. Your 'holier than thou' attitude is no useful contribution to this thread at all.
  4. Wow. Holy shit. Are you that daft? Do you honestly think a regression to a FEUDAL society would be in the best interest of any country? HURR YES BECAUSE SAMURAI AND NINJAS ARE SUGOIIII
  5. My issue with getting kicked is that I only got kicked once I started trashtalking edgecrusher, which was after HE started trashtalking me ( "How do you like the backburner now tensai?" or something like that). Seems to me that kicking me if I respond to that with "Maybe you could've used that airblast that time oh wait" is a bit too strict. Don't dish it if you can't take it. Second point: I trashtalk a ton of people, at least be consistent and kick me whenever I call neko a fag or something, not just when you get 'harassed' yourself. Oh, and kick all the other people who even dare to taunt/trashtalk as well. Nobody should ever talk or type anything during TF2 ever. Overall, it's like Bleck put it, there might be a ton of admins but none of them seem to do their job (and I bet half of them don't even know the admin commands). It usually comes down to "just mute the guy".
  6. Get out of my head, Charles! (seriously are you psychic or something?) On a semi-related note: [20:17:04] Tensei: its ironic that rambo calls really anything related to tf2 'really fucking annoying' because honestly there's few things more annoying than consistently not healing people on purpose
  7. You haven't seen me get serious yet, I write essays on this shit. But yeah despite the panic, I think this might in fact be a positive development for Japan in the long run.
  8. I seriously hope you were being sarcastic with your jerking off to Japan, because I refuse to believe someone is as deluded as that. I major in Japanese language and culture and while it's an interesting country, it's honestly not (significantly) ahead of other major Western democracies in the areas you mentioned. Japan is in fact quite 'backwards' in some respects (Take a look at the denial of stuff like the Nanjing massacre or the Yasukuni shrine, and compare it to countries like Germany which have already accepted and come to terms with their past a long time ago). And let's not even start about gender equality.
  9. Seems like blizzard has been learning from valve about release dates.
  10. Haha yeah same here, if there's any more people forfeiting, I'd be interested in taking their place, playing on iccup made me a bit more confident.
  11. I think engineers are a critical problem on hydro. Seeing as you only have to focus on defending a SINGLE point, it's really easy for mass engie overkill to succesfully defend it from all but the best coordinated teams. This is different from Capture Point maps like dustbowl, because the roles there are at least clearly defined, so blue will always be attacking with it's entire team rather than having to worry about defending their own point as well. It's also different from Control Point maps like Granary, because the 'frontline' will generally be very dynamic due to the multiple CPs so it's rare that an engie will be able to set up any permanent position. I think the addition of a central control point to each of the 'sub-maps' of Hydro would force engies to move around rather than turtle. Outright banning the use of engies on TC maps would help too I guess. In fact, wouldn't it be possible to test out hydro with a class limit on engies?
  12. Ban engineers from Hydro and you'll see what a great map it'll become!
  13. So it's alright if you only do the bannable stuff when no admins are around?
  14. hey guys im just going to post these three screenshots here you can all line up to suck me off haters gtfo kthxbye
  15. He's said enough nice stuff to me~ Also yeah, if you're going to do a project like this, DON'T FUCKING POST EVERYWHERE ABOUT IT. Work on it with as much discretion as possible and then just RELEASE IT. Even if Nintendo C&D's it at that point, it'll get spread around.
  16. If anyone feels like practicing, I'm usually idling on IRC in #ocremix so we could set something up.
  17. I already told garian, but I'm throwing my match. I need to practice way more to be ready for tournament play. Maybe next time.
  18. I've seen her in #ocrtf2 a few times but that's it. I mostly know her from playing TF2, but I'm sure garian knows her better so he'll help you out.
  19. I'll be joining Neko and Battousai for the skype cast.
  20. Yup, this analogy is dumb. It would be more accurate if you compared calling a black person 'nigger' to calling a christian 'christfag' or some other derogatory slur based on their beliefs, and even then, discrimination of race is arguably worse than discrimination of religion.
  21. Except that everyone can relate to racial slurs being disrespectful if you have any kind of common sense. Yelling "Jesus Christ" on the other hand really doesn't do anything for me :/
