  1. Thank you! I'm actually proud of this arrangement. I really wanna make this a vocal piece, anyone think they want to collab? Any ideas on if this is OCR worthy or what I could do to make it so?
  2. So I came up with this wacky idea to have an actual theme song for Krazy Kremland. I managed to kobble together this "Its a Small World" version of "Welcome to Crocodile Isle" with a tad of the Gangplank Galleon thrown in. I also wrote partial lyrics to it that I had the idea of a "Nuka World" style chorus singing to it. Its a Little Isle of Talking Crocodiles Krem Land's really fun if you avoid the bees Rides have Broken tracks and there's a lot of bees Its a Little Isle of Crocodies Come down and Stay A While And you'll see Lots of bees lots of bees a few trees and more bees Its a Little Little Kremland after all! I'm debating if this could be OCREMIX worthy. My samples are crap, but its a bit forgivable because its all calliope music. I suck at mixing, and singing. If anyone wants to collab on this and make it better I'm all ears. I also plan to make a music video with puppets of this. Example of my previous DK puppet video:
  3. SoundCloud Link So in light of Luigi's Mansion 3, I made this demo of the main theme in the style of "Love and Marriage" AKA the Married with Children theme. I used FL Studio and my crappy free samples (like Al Bundy I have no money) I arranged it in a Major key to give it that Sitcomy feel but kept the middle part spooky. I contomplated Lyrics but I can't think of any. I'm open to collaborating on this if anyone wants to join in.
  4. Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Update 3, I added an intro (Ultimate Koopa/Endless Stairs) and added a new Wurlitzer organ sound I found. I'm curious if anyone here wants to collaborate on this. I'm open to all suggestions.
  5. I originally did this as a joke, but I kinda like how the arrangement went. This is mainly for a comedy sketch with a King Boo puppet I PLAN on building. Basically its just King Boo playing this song on the pipe organ, with a humorous ending. My samples are crap, I'm well aware. I'm looking for ARRANGEMENT feedback. What could I do to make this sound more like a classical/spooky organ piece for most of it? then the humorous ending shows up as a way to throw you off. I wanted it to remain somewhat true to the original and not arrange it TOO much. But I don't want a carbon copy either. as for quality I was thinking of collaborating with someone here who has better organ sounds/mixing skills. Let me know what you think ...PLAY BALL!
  6. Hey, Thats a fantastic start! I did a practice stop motion test with some original Character puppets I built to give you an idea of how it will look. Obviously if this album gets done, i'll build the baron, set etc. this is just a demo. Anyone who is interested hit me up!
  7. Ha! yes THAT IS the mighty poo from conker. I unfortunately don't have it anymore, but I remember he was going to be like Sam the Snowman from Rudolph. As far as mixing two different games, I was kinda hoping it would stick to just the Ghoulies score ALTHOUGH I was totally open to having other tunes from Rare games in there too. Banjo Kazooie, Tooie, Conker, Jet Force Gemini, Perfect Dark, Killer Instinct, Etc. I'm basically trying to keep this Rare only, although I am open to it if its MOSTLY Macabre Music Box. By the way here is the concept drawings of the character puppets: An imp dressed as Fred Astaire's character from Santa Claus is Coming to Town (Left) and Baron Von Ghoul (right) Keep spreading the word, hopefully we can get enough people for this. Its a twisted idea insane enough to be pulled off. and FYI the bulk of the animation I can get done ahead of time considering there's no lip sync. Its literally the Baron sitting down listening to the album by his (probably haunted) fireplace. I DID have the idea of using the Orchestra holiday overture medley (if anyone claims that) for an opening title sequence with the imp. Basically he's turning the pages of a big book, and each page has the artist and track they worked on.
  8. Hey Ronald Poe! I'm glad you like the idea! I've actually watched a behind the scenes of Nightmare recently to get new techniques. I'm going for the look of those Rankin/Bass Christmas Specials (Rudolph, The Year Without a Santa Claus etc.) I don't have any of these anymore unfortunately and pity I never used them in a video but here is an example of my creation skills. This was from YEARS ago, and have improved greatly since then.: I'm doing some concept sketches but I'm going to make the Baron kinda resemble Fred Astaire in Santa Claus is Coming To Town. But yeah if you could help with this, that would be splendid! I'm a huge Rare buff and the characters are so easy to make into puppets and figures. Even if its just sharing this around to get exposure that would be great! There has ALWAYS been Christmas songs twisted into a scary minor key, but you rarely see the opposite. Hopefully we can change that!
  9. Hey everyone! So I'm a puppeteer, artist, novice composer and animator. Christmas is just around the corner and I had an idea for a stop motion animation based around one of the most underrated Rare games of all time: Grabbed By The Ghoulies. With a soundtrack by Grant Kirkhope: Playlist: The idea came to me when I was thinking of simple animations. I remember a while back they had Ron Swanson doing the "Yule Log" so I though doing a claymation of the game's final boss Baron Von Ghoul in a similar thing but call it the "Ghoul Log" accompanied by a compilation of the games best tunes arranged in the style of classic Christmas music. Its utterly bizarre and I personally think it would be hilarious to hear these halloween style tunes in such a merry way! The idea is to take these minor key songs and turn them upside down into a major key, sligh bell cacophony. Christmas music can vary in different styles. from orchestral, to pop, rock etc. So I encourage creative freedom. Not just instrumental but we could do some lyrical work too! I was wondering If anyone would want to collab on this? I can do all the album artwork, and obviously a stop motion with it too! I compose a tad of music too (NOTHING GOOD) so I can help with some musical ideas. I do write lyrics too. Some Ideas I had are: an orchestral overture medley, in the style of those Rankin Bass main title sequences of the Grabbed By The Ghoulies main theme The Ballroom Disco in the Style of Jingle Bell Rock The final boss fight (Red Baron 1 and 2) arranged in a lyrical song in the style of Snoopy's Christmas by the Royal Guardsman. Here are the best tracks in my opinion: The Main Theme Pause/File Select Skeleton Battle Haunted Coat Zombie Pirates Ballroom Disco Criven's Quarters Red Baron 1+2 I think 8 tracks is plenty but I'm open to any changes. Ideally I'd like to get this done for Christmas. Its a strange concept but I think it would be awesome and hilarious! Anyone interested? Feel free to ask any questions!
  10. I figure I'd share this collab I did months ago with my friend TheGreenPiano (Who arranged the music for this) I believe he's actually on these forums. So full credit to him for the music. The idea, puppeteering, puppet building, filming, editing etc. were done by me. The voice of the female Opera singer was Caroline Joy who absolutely STEALS THE SHOW. and the familar voices after the credits were viced by my friend Matt Cornah of the DKVine. I'm not submitting this to OCremix, unless TheGreenPiano wants to. Plus I'd need to ask Caroline Joy if that's okay. I don't know what the deal is for collaborations. Let me know for the future. Let me know what you think.
  11. Hey! Thank you for the advice! All this is very helpful. As you said, a lot of these tunes are stereotypical music that Warner Bros would use to represent different nationalities. The level themes, however, are original as well as the Augustus Boss theme. In case anyone was wondering, this game is essentially a parody of the Arcade Donkey Kong as if a Soviet era regime bootlegged it. It's literally one big joke. I wanted the music to be SOMEWHAT decent. Anyways I'll keep y'all posted as to my progress on the mixing end of things. Thanks for the help again!
  12. Did a very short soundtrack to an arcade game I'm currently working on with my programmer. I used an NES soundfont. Granted these are only demos even by 8 bit standards. Anyone with skill in 8 bit chiptunes please give me tips on making these sound a bit more less muddy. or any other tips on making these sound better, Let me know what you think!
  13. So here is an instrumental Demo of the song the fake ghost sharks sing at the end of the nonexistent ride. Lyrics: Yo ho ho and a Bucket of chum we're spooky specter pirate scum we're also sharks which is really dumb Daaa dum! Daaa dum Da Dum Da Dum DaDumDaDumDaDum Dum Dum Dum Dum Dum Dum DUMB! Let me know what you think
  14. I did a short looping mockup of the Queuing music for Lard Land's(a fictional theme park I created)Pirate ride ripoff. It's a mix of The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Carribean, Jaws and Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville all in one. No flash photography please. My MIXING SUCKS and my instruments are crap I know. This is just a demo but feedback is appreciated
  15. Yet another Waltz I composed. This time for my character Col. von Hindenburger's brother Baron Von Shakenburg who is a deranged milkshake salesman. He also makes his shakes with...inhumane ingredients. This also has lyrics by me, and I also performed this. YES I AM AWARE that the characters in Steven universe are gem holograms, but the song is sung by a muderous alligator that somehow survives in sub zero temperatures. accuracy goes out the window. Enjoy the song and let me know what you think!
  16. Here is a quick update: I added an intro and altered the arrangement slightly. I also threw a minor key hint of Deuschland Uber Alles to emphasize the fact that the character in question has an awful past. This is all piano for now, but I'm looking to orchestrate it.
  17. Hey, So this is sort of odd but I'm in need of a female opera singer for an arrangement of Sloprano that I'm going to be doing a music video for. The music itself is done and The entire video will be done with puppets. Here is an example of another collab I did a while ago: The latest one is basically Sloprano as a German/Wagnerian opera in the vein of Ride of the Valkyries without giving too much away. The video will be styled like a opera concert shot in berlin, with a female puppet singer in a viking helmet. My idea was to have the first and last verse in english but the middle and end spiel would be in German. If there are any ladies out there who would be willing to lend their vocal talents to this let me know ASAP. You can also PM me for further details. Like I said the music is done, so I just need a vocalist (preferably one who can speak German). Thank you
  18. Here is an original piece (a variation of my previously posted General Grunt motif) for my character Col. Von Hindenburger. He's a sadistic burger mogul who may or may not be guilty of war atrocities. His theme was originally intended to be a Bavarian polka, but this twisted german sounding waltz popped into my head. again my samples/soundfonts are horrible. I tried to make the best of it by adding a reverb and some EQ. I also added some kitchen sounds and cuckoo clocks in there to emphasize how off balanced he is. Let me know what you think and I'll post some more demo themes.
  19. Here it is with an organ sound. I'm torn between this and the piano. What do you think? Any other spooky/classical instrument suggestions? If I had the ability I'd do full orchestra but that's way beyond my comprehension.
  20. So I figure I'd post some of my Puppet work. I build puppets regularly (Both original and video game themed) I also voice them, puppeteer them, as well as film and edit the videos. I find I'm better at writing songs than writing full scripts. FYI THESE VIDEOS ARE NOT FOR KIDS. Here are a few of my better ones. I have plenty of ideas so If any one wants to collaborate on an original song, I'm all ears. But check them out if you want. Let me know what you think and if you want to see more. I also can post pictures of my K. rool, Klump, Gruntilda. Mighty Poo etc. puppets (mostly Rare Themed)
  21. Thank you! I've never heard the Zun music but Tchaikovsky was a huge influence. My samples aren't great, naturally but I was experimenting with an organ sound initially. I don't know if it was my crap samples but it sounded too muddy. I tried a harpsichord and that sounded rad, but In the end I settle for solo piano, although I may revisit it with different instrument choices. My only advice for making faux classical music is to listen to a lot of classical music. Find Midi files and via piano roll, study the note patterns. My first songs were in the style of Grant kirkhope and its because I studied the polka rhythm pattern he often uses. Glad you like the piece!
  22. Hey guys! I haven't posted here since 2006 and back then I was just browsing and not sharing much. Since then I've been practicing composing a bit of music myself. Mainly motifs for my original cartoon/puppet characters (yes, I build puppets now.) I consider myself a total novice as I can't play any actual instrument and cannot read sheet music for the life of me. I literally just plug notes into the FL studio piano roll until it sounds like music. I'm working with free sound fonts too. So my music is pretty much midi sounding. Anyways I figure I'd share my latest composition. It's a solo piano suite of my main character's motif/theme. The backstory is that my character spent 28 years composing it and considers it his masterpiece. He plays it when he's got free time or if he want's to creep out his guests. His theme is essentially an original russian/soviet sounding march, but in this I gave it many variations. From Bach, to Mozart to even a waltz. I tend to compose music in 3 genres: Russian military, German polka and evil circus music. I suck at mixing/mastering/ orchestrating so go easy on me. I'm trying to learn more. Music isn't my main focus but I figure it's a good skill to have. Let me know what you think. Also I'm open to collaboration too. I have a bunch of unused songs/lyrics and a few ideas for video game musical numbers. Mainly Rare ltd and donkey kong country inspired. Thanks EDIT: For the record I HAVE NO IDEA if this is actually in F minor. The only reason it's titled that is because he says the F word a lot. If anyone can tell me what key it's in I'm all ears.
  23. Hey, I haven't been here in years. Since I compose my own music now, I'd like to be more involved but I'd rather go by my universal username of General Grunt. I want to start posting some of my original tracks. Thanks in advance!
  24. By Mustard,I'm surprised no one thought of this! A Medley Of the Cackletta Battle ,Bowletta and the Final Cackletta Themes, In a Danny Elfmanesque Suite. As Far As I know there are no remixes of this game, so it would be a great contrabution to the site, If someone does this. http://www.smrpglegacy.com/M&L%20Midi's/CacklettaBattle.mid http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/gba/MLSSFinalBattle.mid Sorry, I couldn't find a midi of bowletta's theme.
