  1. Welcome Devastus on board doing Crush Crawfish! He's sure to bring some aggression to the table - check out one of his songs:
  2. Don't forget to PM me your mailing addresses!
  3. I'm going to guess Eastern but I'm not the authority on it.
  4. I love Vurez's stuff, and this is no exception. This song in particular exudes a strong middle eastern flair to it as mentioned in the writeup, which isn't something we see too often on the site. One thing that caught my ears is the subtle change up in how the chord progression is played in the song towards the end. The song appears to be built on a lot of subtle nuances, which is somewhat appropriate to me considering what one might expect of music with this ethnic type. Another nice feature is how nice this song is for looping in the background while doing something.
  5. So it's a bit early, but judging by how successful last year's one was, I think it would be cool to do one again. Who's up for it this year? For those unaware of how it works, if you're interested, send me a PM with your address on it, and I will randomize the drawing whenever we have all the people in. I will send you a PM with the person you drew and his/her address. Then you send them a gift (hopefully) before Christmas. If you'd like to reveal that you were the gift giver, that's fine. Last year I believe everyone got a gift so nobody was left hanging. Let's emulate that success this year in the spirit of the holidays coming up! If you'd like to give hints as to what might be an appropriate gift in a post, that's fine. You do not have to spend a lot of money on these gifts - it's the thought that counts, so even a $1 gift can be meaningful. November 24th is the deadline for getting locked in to joining up! A warning for those combing through people's profiles & posts in order to cleverly try to find how they are like to tailor a gift to them - the profiles track who was the last to view them, so if you do this, go open up several people's profiles from the participant list in order to cover your tracks some. 6. So good news abound! XSTmusic is rounding the final stretch on his excellent medley, including a strong Chill Penguin - this track is already pushing 10 minutes and will likely be even longer! zyko just needs to get the production done for his tracks to be finished. Similarly with Bonkers for his Opening Stage Zero track. Big updates for Vurez's other two tracks are incoming. Gario & Skummel has also pumped out a solid WIP in the meantime. Get excited people, the music is on the move and it's looking like this album will be unlike any other one on OCR! When you all get to hear the preview once we hit 30 final wavs (I might move that up to 32 or 33 ), you will know what has those on board hyped up over.
  7. I've heard quite a few complaints about trading killing people playing the game due to team imbalances from others idling to trade - I'll admit to being part of the problem during a few of those complaints.
  8. I just got word that zyko finished both of his tracks...apparently days ago but I just didn't notice because I didn't see the new Steam messages left for me. This album is looking sick, and hopefully you guys agree when you hear the preview
  9. Well, I can tell you that plenty of abusive/derogatory language is used in the Marine Corps, but the attitude there is that if you can't handle it, you can't handle high stress combat situations - I digress though. Regardless of how an admin might feel, we should be professional about this. No admin should be admining drastically different from another one. That said, on the OCR TF2 server, we shouldn't be fostering such an environment. We are an inclusive community when it comes to different characteristics like this as we have LGBT in the broader OCR community since we are about the appreciation of video game music and rearrangements of it. Any adoption of policy contrary to this reflects bad on the site and its community, which is not the message we want to send.
  10. For the record, whenever I'm on I don't tolerate it and always immediately warn the offender to watch their language. If they escalate it or flout it then I kick/ban them.
  11. And the next final wav is in from halc! Bonkers looks about ready to send me a final wav as well. We've been seeing some action with the songs in the background, some more are getting closer to completion with finetuning being done.
  12. I noticed Don Newman using the full pyro set yesterday, and he made some interesting comments about how it lets you jump to further areas than before, such as in Dustbowl first stage, near second cap - you can jump to the sniper perch from the upper left side (left from red's view). I also saw him around the point A spawn entrance of blue in Steel jumping onto the uphill area from the roof to clear that area out.
  13. Things have been a bit quiet for the past week - I've been pretty busy. XSTmusic is almost ready to bring the heat (or the freeze?) with his track soon! This track is almost 10 minutes long
  14. Sorry, new thread because I messed up in trying to take over the first post - first for Kizyr & you!
  15. Bon Anniversaire Doulifee! (I know I left out the accent, shhhh)
  16. Hard for me to tell - I've always loved vgm since Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt (my first game). I want to say that Terra from FF6 was the big one that got me recording vgm with a tape recorder though.
  17. Looks like a community type of site where you can promote stuff.
  18. I'm surprised I never commented on this - I've always loved this mix since it was first posted. It has a nice happy sound and puts you in a trance. It's not too often where you see songs doing both well.
  19. Final Fantasy 6, Secret of Mana, and Seiken Densetsu 3 says hi. I personally never thought about the console when it came to sound - if it sounded good/had a good arrangement, I liked it and that was all that counted. That said, I must be the only one who isn't a fan of the Toxic Seahorse rendition
  20. It says 14,2A, so I take it it's a Jasper. It's a little more complicated than that since I had a 360 Premium a while back as well, and bought a few games on that. As far as I can tell, here's what I have that I bought on this 360 specifically: Age of Booty Various Rock Band 2 DLC Settlers of Catan Turtles in Time remake Magic the Gathering Mega Man 9
  21. How can I tell what model 360 it is? I don't think it is a Jasper but here are the details: MFR Date: March 11, 2008 Serial Number: 2037547 81105 Product Id: 89555322203754781105 As for games, I forget what I bought on that particular 360 and I have no TV currently, so I'm not able to tell you unfortunately. Also I will add more to that list of games sometime in the next hour or two if anyone else is curious. Edit: Dave showed me how to check, and apparently it is - says 12 V near the serial number cutout hole
